I don't know anything about Canadian politics. I'm an American and unfortunately I haven't followed Canadian politics. I believe I can give an unbiased opinion regarding what I've just seen in this interview. I believe the interviewer is asking the question in a confusing manner. He's asking: what would you have done regarding the situation that took place 2 years ago if you are elected today. What a dumb question. If he was elected today he would have no say in what happened 2 years ago.

Doesn't Canada have any interprete"ours" who can explain the question to him? Great , we have a potential leader of the Liberal Party , who admits , he can't understand English. What a simple question , what he would have done up to date , if he were the Prime Minister of Canada , as opposed to Harper or otherwise. Dion answers : starting today , two weeks ago , a month ago or 2 years ago? No stupid , up to now since Harper took over.
