I had first known him at the Movie Express in HBO. Seeing that movie, I had already an impression that this man is very nice and kind. I just wish all the youth will know him, because he is really a very good model to everyone.
It easy to think of what may have been Had Ernie Davis lived. But I think its what he accomplished when he was alive. By the time he was 23, he had broken a racial barrier, with hard work and outstanding talent. Those who knew Ernie growing up in Elmira, all say the same thing about him, when I have asked them. Including members of my family. "Ernie would have given you his last dollar if he thought it would help you".
Ernie Davis would have been the 2nd greatest running back, behind Jim Brown. Possibly even the 1st. He would have dominated the game, and do amazing things. I wish he would've got 9-10 seasons lik Brown. R.I.P. Davis.
Just finished watching The Express with my husband for the first time. He has watched it several times. WOW, WOW, WOW. I'll be joining him in watching it again and again. A real feel good movie.
His story is one that is similar to Brian's Song with Brian Piccolo. Gone too soon. Only the good die young I suppose. I was touched by the movie and appreciate this upload.
