I'm gonna tell you guys a simple recipe for making the 'likely the same taste' pan- make apple tart: coat or wrap the apple slices in all purpose flour mixed with water. Then shallow fry them. Meanwhile Add two cups of sugar to 2 cups of water and heat them to make a syrup. Once you are done frying, just dip them into the syrup and wait for them to cool down. AND YOU ARE DONE!
If you use another type of fruit, I would use one that is relatively low in water. Pears would be similar. Like you wrote, peaches would be too high in water content and would have a tendency to make the crust soggy.
superb..from a hungry Irish person...slan(bye).

@sheariner Came out really well, but the crust was a bit underdone. Otherwise, a real winner.

Can you use any other type of fruit? How about peaches, or would they have too much juice and weaken the tart crust?

Hi, You could add an egg and remove some of the water if you wanted to make it richer in flavor.

could you use melted apple jelly as a glaze? Looks really good!
SarahShake 2 years ago
sure
attoman02150 2 years ago
You could but the pectin that was probably used to set the jelly might break down and stay on the thin side after it cools. -Chris Thielman
