Nearly four years later, Shawn continues to dominate the ETA world selling out arenas all over the world and still playing to hometown audiences in little Pittston PA. He's the best and if anything, has gotten better over the past four years. The performance is the most authentic in the world...no one can come close. Even Joe Esposito agrees and he 2010 Vegas performance was historic, and repeats again this July! Be there!

O.k, Trent has a monumental ego, but his performance and overall stage presence was superior to the rest: he's slim (short, but so is Klush), has killer moves, very fluid, very seasoned as an act. Donny performed in the 1970's Ladder jumpsuit,, doing Unchained Melody? Points lost for singing the wrong song in the wrong outfit. Bad luck for Donny. Klush, I'm sorry, lacks the pretty vibrato that Elvis had. He sounds contrived, affected, and in real life is short and can't sing Trilogy's last note.
Shawn Klush is amazing! And I am very picky when it comes to Elvis tribute artists. I think it would so much fun being a judge at one of these. I think I'd make a great critic.
Sorry, but you haven't got as many ELVIS cd's as I have. I was brought up listening to Elvis and still play his CD's everyday. I have never been fooled hearing another artist and thought they were Elvis. Do you think they would be doing impersonator shows or making millions? They can't make millions, as they don't have the voice to catapult them to fame. Only one Elvis - after that, no-one comes even close.
Shawn Klush needs to be himself, rather than impersonating Elvis all the time.

watching these so called elvis impersonators is a bit of disturbing bad habit i have.
Im not particularly entertained or even impressed. i guess im a bit fascinated by the desperation of these people. they dress up in a white jump suit dye their hair black and grow sideburns and they think they can walk a mile in his shoes. I have yet to see one worthy of anything more than contempt. its all about them thinking they can have fifteen seconds of fame living off the memory of the king.
Check out Doug Church... when you listen to him it's hard to tell if it's Elvis or Doug... all of these guys here sound like people trying to sound like Elvis... you can clearly tell it's not Elvis... Much different with Doug Church...

@paulreno1. Yes, Doug does sound just like Elvis. I've probably got more Elvis CD's than you and after listening to them and comparing them with Doug Church, yes, it is difficult to tell them apart. My mom was a teenager watchin Elvis on Ed Sullivan and has been a big Elvis fan all her life. I played her a tape with Elvis/Doug songs and she'd have to ask me to clarify who was singing because of how close Doug comes to Elvis' voice.

actually these elvis impersonators all sing better than elvis did in the early days. If you listen to his early stuff (1950s) he goes flat. but that was part of the charm. he became a better singer as time went along. too bad he died so young.

Yes he does go flat, but not a half tone flat - it's more like he would hit the notes in between the standard notes, I guess like the blues singers and musicians that get that little boooooing in there. I started listing 2 elvis when i was 2. I'm 35 now. I've never entered a contest but Theres not a doubt in my mind that i could blow this guy off the stage. I'm gonna recored something and send it in. And then the people who listen to it can judge me.
I just dont know. I guess I dont like any impersonator . I want to see, hear Elvis. Not someone that sounds kinda like him. I want the impersonator to sound exactly like Elvis. Dont get me wrong they can sing. But they are just not Him. I think thats the disappointment. I want to close my eyes and hear the real damn thing. And all we got left are videos. @ConfusedSponge I think although Donny most resembles Elvis's face out of all ETA's and sings as well as most other ETA's his stage presence is lacking due to his small size. Elvis wasnt that tall at 5'11 but he made himself appear grand on stage. Unfortunately Donny is just a small guy and cant make up for that. The reason Shawn is able to pull of Elvis better then anybody is because he resembles Elvis's onstage posture and look
I think thier heart is in the right place and I also believe EL would be pleased and honered to know others as this young man said EL started it and they are just carrying the torch and actually I have found many who are very good. There will never be another ELVIS But I am sure when he knelt before the THRONE of the REAL KING. Sorry, Doug Church is the ultimate Elvis tribute artist. Listen to Shaun and it sounds like a guy trying to sound like Elvis. Listen to Doug Church and it's hard to say if its Doug or Elvis himself... very hard to tell the difference between their voices.
Joseph Hall did the best on Hound Dog... I don't know about the other impersonators, though... Elvis is most likely the hardest person to impersonate, yet is most likely the one guy with the most impersonators...
ETA's help bring Elvis to a new audience, one (predominately) born after Elvis died, and they keep Elvis alive and relevant in the public's eye. Think about it - James Dean and Humphrey Bogart were the coolest guys of their day - but when was the last time you heard anyone talk about them or saw one of their films on today?..

There will only ever be one Elvis .... but UK Jay Ashton is probably the most under-rated "natural" Elvis tribute artist around. The video (in the video comment section) is footage taken with an ordinary Canon digital camera ... so the sound quality is not great (apologies) but the moves on stage are amazing ... and remember that the guys in the featured video have all the studio "trappings".

none of them were that great,they could all sing in a deep voice but not one of them could hold the deep loud voice like elvis. And also this video proves that elvis reigns supreme,how many other singer have this many impersonators (0) so all the MJ fans who think MJ is better keep dreamin,elvis owns music.

Winning any of the "best Elvis" contests depends on the votes of a panel/ audience (although rumour has it some are 'fixed') Being dressed like Elvis helps if you don't sound like him but too many tributes seem to feel the need to 'shake' all the time. At Blackpool this year Jay Ashton stepped in at the very last minute,
when Oliver Steinhoff didn't make it, and performed a 75th birthday tribute in T-shirt and jeans. The voice is great, the body moves like Elvis ... who cares about the clothes.
Woah am I the only one who thinks Shawn Klush is pretty average (for an elvis tribute)? The first guy, I think he was called Trent Carlin was SO much better! He sounded more like Elvis, and when you see him around 4:08 that looks EXACTLY like him!

Sad indeed. I'm going to have to give your stuff a look and listen. We're on the same page. No body will ever convince me this contest was not fixed. I was witness to a few things in 2007 that lead up to Klush getting the crown.
of all the ETAs Klush is really the only one who actually looks like him...and seems to have the persona down to where he actually does give the illusion where the other guys just look like guys in Elvis suits. No one is ever going to come close to Elvis, but these people put a huge amount work, practice, and effort into their shows. Some are bad...some are good. Yes, they're not ELVIS. There are very, very few ETAs out there who are "in it" for the right reasons..."right" reasons being bringing joy, happiness and love to OTHERS (nursing homes, burned centers, hospitals, the homeless, raising funds for the needy, etc) I'm happy to say "I" am one of those Elvisguys (a minority if I have to say so myself) been in the business long enough to be able to say that with a straight face (no blinking) lol
To Elvisguy..I can name at least 10 successful ETA's that do charity events, visit hospitals, raise money for charities etc. I would say you are most certainly NOT a minority. How would you know who does and who does not? Several of the contests themselves are fundraisers. Kudos to you for what you do, but you should not pass judgement on other ETAs, especially as you are pretty much wrong.
you have to see Shawn Klush live he is really great . This year in Collingwood he was on stage for over an hour and kept pretty true.. Carlini is good but S.K is better..

Sorry, but you haven't got as many ELVIS cd's as I have. I was brought up listening to Elvis and still play his CD's everyday. I have never been fooled hearing another artist and thought they were Elvis. Do you think they would be doing impersonator shows or making millions? They can't make millions, as they don't have the voice to catapult them to fame. Only one Elvis - after that, no-one comes even close.
Shawn Klush needs to be himself, rather than impersonating Elvis all the time.

watching these so called elvis impersonators is a bit of disturbing bad habit i have.
Im not particularly entertained or even impressed. i guess im a bit fascinated by the desperation of these people. they dress up in a white jump suit dye their hair black and grow sideburns and they think they can walk a mile in his shoes. I have yet to see one worthy of anything more than contempt. its all about them thinking they can have fifteen seconds of fame living off the memory of the king.

Check out Doug Church... when you listen to him it's hard to tell if it's Elvis or Doug... all of these guys here sound like people trying to sound like Elvis... you can clearly tell it's not Elvis... Much different with Doug Church...

@paulreno1. Yes, Doug does sound just like Elvis. I've probably got more Elvis CD's than you and after listening to them and comparing them with Doug Church, yes, it is difficult to tell them apart. My mom was a teenager watchin Elvis on Ed Sullivan and has been a big Elvis fan all her life. I played her a tape with Elvis/Doug songs and she'd have to ask me to clarify who was singing because of how close Doug comes to Elvis' voice.

actually these elvis impersonators all sing better than elvis did in the early days. If you listen to his early stuff (1950s) he goes flat. but that was part of the charm. he became a better singer as time went along. too bad he died so young.

@primered55 I have a lot of the original 45s from the 1950s. Yes he does go flat, but not a half tone flat - it's more like he would hit the notes in between the standard notes, I guess like the blues singers and musicians that get that little boooooing in there. Like I said, it was part of his charm.

I started listing 2 elvis when i was 2. I'm 35 now. I've never entered a contest but Theres not a doubt in my mind that i could blow this guy off the stage. I'm gonna recored something and send it in. And then the people who listen to it can judge me.

I just dont know. I guess I dont like any impersonator . I want to see, hear Elvis. Not someone that sounds kinda like him. I want the impersonator to sound exactly like Elvis. Dont get me wrong they can sing. But they are just not Him. I think thats the disappointment. I want to close my eyes and hear the real damn thing. And all we got left are videos. Im glad of that at least. But obviously no one can be Elvis. That person is dead, never to return. And that totally sucks.

@ConfusedSponge I think although Donny most resembles Elvis's face out of all ETA's and sings as well as most other ETA's his stage presence is lacking due to his small size. Elvis wasnt that tall at 5'11 but he made himself appear grand on stage. Unfortunately Donny is just a small guy and cant make up for that. The reason Shawn is able to pull of Elvis better then anybody is because he resembles Elvis's onstage posture and look

Sorry, Doug Church is the ultimate Elvis tribute artist. Listen to Shaun and it sounds like a guy trying to sound like Elvis. Listen to Doug Church and it's hard to say if its Doug or Elvis himself... very hard to tell the difference between their voices.

ETA's help bring Elvis to a new audience, one (predominately) born after Elvis died, and they keep Elvis alive and relevant in the public's eye. Think about it - James Dean and Humphrey Bogart were the coolest guys of their day - but when was the last time you heard anyone talk about them or saw one of their films on today?..

There will only ever be one Elvis .... but UK Jay Ashton is probably the most under-rated "natural" Elvis tribute artist around. The video (in the video comment section) is footage taken with an ordinary Canon digital camera ... so the sound quality is not great (apologies) but the moves on stage are amazing ... and remember that the guys in the featured video have all the studio "trappings".

Winning any of the "best Elvis" contests depends on the votes of a panel/ audience (although rumour has it some are 'fixed') Being dressed like Elvis helps if you don't sound like him but too many tributes seem to feel the need to 'shake' all the time. At Blackpool this year Jay Ashton stepped in at the very last minute,
when Oliver Steinhoff didn't make it, and performed a 75th birthday tribute in T-shirt and jeans. The voice is great, the body moves like Elvis ... who cares about the clothes.

Ended up with 2 top 10"s and 4 top 20" s What did Dennis do.? Don' t get me wrong Dennis had talent. He didn' t use it. Klush is a joke. Where as Steve Sogura is not. Check him out. That's great. You're opinion is something I've never heard before. As Elvis would say, "Hot Damn!" Fine, you're entitled to not like ETA's but they're TRIBUTE artists. No one is ever going to come close to Elvis, but these people put a huge amount work, practice, and effort into their shows. Some are bad...some are good. Yes, they're not ELVIS. Stop saying it though. Its annoying as hell to see people trashing ETA's just cause they may have seen one bad one during their lifetime.

There are very, very few ETAs out there who are "in it" for the right reasons..."right" reasons being bringing joy, happiness and love to OTHERS (nursing homes, burned centers, hospitals, the homeless, raising funds for the needy, etc) I'm happy to say "I" am one of those Elvisguys (a minority if I have to say so myself) been in the business long enough to be able to say that with a straight face (no blinking) lol

Who are you to say you can see into another's heart...or soul...or to know why other ETA's do what they do? You can't possibly know what they feel.

To Elvisguy..I can name at least 10 successful ETA's that do charity events, visit hospitals, raise money for charities etc. I would say you are most certainly NOT a minority. How would you know who does and who does not? Several of the contests themselves are fundraisers. Kudos to you for what you do, but you should not pass judgement on other ETAs, especially as you are pretty much wrong.

you have to see Shawn Klush live he is really great . This year in Collingwood he was on stage for over an hour and kept pretty true.. Carlini is good but S.K is better..
