Did the Drug Czar feel the need to tell the American people where Al-Q's start-up capital came from? No, because it was the CIA which paid the bills 15 years ago, and Saudi oil which does it now.
Help me keep that a secret, because somebody might find out and then we might then rise in bloody revolt against the miserable traitors who made this shit.
In 1990, the average tax on a pack of cigarettes was 25 cents. Ten years later it was 45 cents. As tobacco excise taxes grew, so did the incentive for smugglers. Today, one carton of cigarettes purchased in North Carolina can be smuggled into Manhattan for a $30 profit.
Newspapers in 2002 reported that terrorist organizations were profiting from tobacco smuggling, once the exclusive domain of organized crime.
PS: let's assume for a minute that the government is smart enough to know that people won't stop smoking pot. ever. EVER. So even assuming marijuana does fund terrorism, the most logical course of action would be to LEGALIZE IT and take that money away from terrorists, and put it into your own fucking pockets. Q.E.D.
@geoguy91 If only the average chump on the street (and especially our leaders) could have a tenth of your logical reasoning the world would be a much much much better place for everyone. It's so easy, people do drugs, nothing whatsoever can ever change that. And if that is the case, and it's also the case that drug money goes to terrorists, why not legalize it then? I don't even smoke pot, not even cigarettes, but I don't see anything bad about smoking some weed, it's like taking a beer.
Some illegal drug money helps fund terrorism. But legal drug money never does. Why? Its legal. Legit companies like Budweiser & Miller can be audited so theyd never try to get away with funding terrorists. Legalize all drugs & require businesses to be licensed & the black market drug dealers will go out of business & any funds they contribute to terrorists will dry up. Government wont do this because they want to use drugs & terrorism to scare the public & dont want either problem to get better.
By the same logic we can safely assume that, because the US Gov't is audited, they don't fund/supply terrorists. We know that's false because we supplied the Taliban with weapons in the 80s to fight off the Soviets.

As Stephen Colbert said on "The Daily Show" (when he was still "coal-BERT", not "coal-BEAR"), "Perfect Argument for GROWING YOUR OWN!"

Drug money funds the CIA, so therefore it does fund terrorism.
