This song has great special meaning for me, 2 of my favorite singers. Sound of Music was the first movie that my entire family watched together when I was 6 and it was just released..we drove an hour to the Paramount Theater in Portland,OR to watch it as a family. John Denver was my dad's favorite singer in the 70's (dad passed away in '05) . Julie Andrews and John Denver have been an indescribable inspiration to my life. i saw john denver in concert five times - all wonderful performances, but the best was a very simple concert that included just him and his guitar and some minor additions of occassional background music.

what struck me about that show was that he actually sounded better in person that from his album recordings - i've never seen that before with a singer. strongest and most beautiful voice i've ever heard.
