  • thx guys i was wondering how to open the elite, and exactly how the new setup was. helped out alot.

  • Can't get the side with the one big clip off for some reason

  • @wiredextreme I'm a Tech savy person and have been contemplating this idea for some time but was not sure and didn't want to wast the money if it didn't work, If I strip the console down to the bare essentials, would I be able to fit it into a NES casing or would it be to large? I haven't been able to find the dimensions of the boards and such online.

  • you have had the best directions to follow thanx

  • Something you should know that's pretty interesting is the cpu and gpu are not one, there seperate, but are both under the same heatsink :)

  • hey after having a slim i discovered that the connection between the "N" adapter chip to my router is weaker. can you add an antenna to the chip to boost its signal?

  • hey after having a slim i discovered that the connection between the "N" adapter chip to my router is weaker. can you add an antena to the chip to boost its signal?

  • cool beans

  • they probably did this on a xbox that was meant to be repared lol

  • @wiredextreme you are awsome man!when I send my PS3 to you guys it would be cool if you did a video showing it being repaired.SUBSCRIBED good video BTW

  • idiot

  • @mardbif why?

  • ok i just finished my xbox doesnt work

  • i cnt get the screws out

  • m xbox wont play any games or movies is it because of dust and if not do i have to get a new one?

  • Great video. I'm gonna do this once my warranty is up so I can clean the dust out of the fan and heatsink and everything else.

  • Thanks for the great video! My two year old son grabbed hold of the disc tray and it wouldn't open or shut after that! Managed to take console apart and re-align it! Thanks again! (From England!)

  • To get to the fan looks so much simpler than the PS3, I don't intend to fix my own PS3 anyway if it ever breaks :L On the PS3, you have to take off the top, then another shell, then the Blu-Ray and Power supply, then the board that connects up to the Blu-Ray and power supply. After that you have to take this big metal sheet out, and the HDD cover, then take the motherboard out and finally there's the fan! Here you just take off the shell and oh hello fan... :L

  • @GothamCity85 your retarded...

  • was your father a farmer because you sure know how to raise cocks

  • I dont know if somebody has asked that but, what makes the Slim versions run our games more quietly?

  • Can u put a new micro tax motherboard in that xbox case? It looks like it will fit.

  • P.S. HEY THERES A PIN UNDER THE STICKER. PUSH THAT OPENS UP THAT TAB ESIER

  • @DreamCrw make sure to discharge yourself from static electricity by touching something made of steel.

  • @DreamCrw Well you take the chance of voiding your warranty if doing so. If you are not familiar with electronics, then please do take extreme caution while taking your system apart. Do NOT take it apart on carpet and

  • Is it safe to take it apart? Because i need to clean it out and install a new fan, please reply. Thanks

  • can you change the cd/dvd drive with a blu ray drive for the this console????

  • @jonjonnguyen01 No. These are special drives that have a special power cable made just for the Xbox systems.

  • Watch out for competition comments being posted on our videos.

  • @THEMAKASAS That's Sony's job ;)

  • Once again somebody learned how to take apart an xbox

  • Hello, Wired-Extreme-7, I have a question: How can I fix my Disc Compartment? It keeps opening and closing and it won't even open or close all the way. And on top of that, my Tekken 6 game is stuck in. And yes, it is the New Xbox 360 Slim Model. Please answer my question, I await your answer. Because I have a feeling that you guys are the only ones that can help me. From what I heard from all of my friends and family, Microsoft Customer Service sucks. Thank you and goodbye. I await your answer.

  • Do u guys except console repair from outside USA like...Malaysia?

  • what was the piont to this?>??

  • i want an xbox 360 but the fail rate is scaring me

  • @Cambopryde Don't worry, its not as bad as it sounds. The new Xbox 360 Slim is much, much better and fixes a large amount of the original Xbox 360's problems. Including "The Red Ring of Death/Doom". Good luck. But if your really that worried, go with the Playstation 3 or the Wii. They are both great consoles with a much lower "fail-rate" as you put it.

  • hi cool vid but could please help i have just got in for repair the halo edition xbox 360 slim in bits due to a fall down the stair, i have put it back together and when i press either eject or the power button the speaker on the mobo gives the chime but the console wont power , this is my first slim repairs and am very familiar with the old ones .also the metal square that is on the power board (rf) has come away is that needed to conduct please help me i have clicked like

    awesome vid :)

  • @ryanthomasnewell Just take it down and put it back together the reverse way. Just start at the end of the video and go backwards. Inspect each part and make sure nothing is damaged.

If you still can't figure it out, give us a call at 888-389-3038.

  • Lol poor xbox 360 got took apart I have one but look all the crap inside lol

  • hey do you guys know if the hard drive case for the new xbox can be removed like the old one and if so is it still the same as the old one internally

  • and good bye warranty

  • I hate the haters here!

  • can i just take the stickers off carfully and then when im done put them back on

  • @xXTombRaiderBoiXx Unfortunately not. They are tamper proof.

  • @wiredextreme So that means its safe to take the Slim apart and clean it myself.

  • Please put a vid how to put together again..=)

  • @cskustoms1 Possibly will do soon.

  • @cskustoms1 Thats why you never take it apart

  • @cskustoms1 HEy you could put everything back by watching the video the way you open it

  • how do u j-tag ur xbox w/o it breakin???

  • Thanks a lot for the fantastic video. Much appreciated. I only want to remove the wireless card. Now I know where it is and how to do it without ripping the box into pieces :D

  • I See microsoft still has a useless metal case for the 360 -___-

  • Hello, what method do you guys use to fix the PS3 with YLoD or the 360 with a RRoD ?

do you use a heat gun or do you reball them ?

  • @madmax2069 We use an Infared machine to do our reflows / reball procedures.

  • hey my xbox 360 slims has problems when i connect it in sd (yellow white red) and i can only hear when it boots up but nothing else , the screen stay black and nothing happens

Thumbs up so people can see and help me plzzz

  • xboxft

  • is someone making tea in the background 0:46 listen

  • @lyonsjkll No but I have no idea what that sound is...

  • @lyonsjkll Microsoft figured out what they were doing, and it was built to self destruct, but luckily he "defused" it quick enough

  • dont point at me

  • If the hard drive is built-in, how come you took it out? Dumbass.

  • @44dgl It's built inside. It's covered by a door which leads to the hard drive being inside the console. You can take a part out of anything if you know how to do it.

  • practicamente es un manual de como perder la garantia

  • why why why why would you wont to do that to your xbox that you payed $300 for

  • @35shiv iknow haa

  • @35shiv He repairs them

  • ive had this xbox for about 3months now, and i got open tray error...

  • 2:55 Mario went to the toilet

  • @Samieman900 It's our phone :)

  • .......i have that shirt...

  • dis hella shit to take out i wouldnt do dis shit

  • This is a great to ruin your xbox!!! Wonderful!!

  • wats the point of this

  • Well then he should put that in the title he never said that he works for a company so tell me the info before u call me a monkey!

  • I have been asking all around and I may look stupid but my xbox 360 slim is scratched and I want a new 'case'. just the original one. can YOU help me, please? where can I find something like that?

  • @marioRkoBreakerV2 Look it up on Ebay... best idea

  • Mine didn't come with a hard drive. I popped the bottom and checked the box. Both empty. Though, I did get the Kinect. Was I gyp'ed or does everyone have to buy their hard drive separately?

  • Hey guys! lets go buy a $300 console! and destory it! by taking it apart!!! yaaaaaaaaaay!!! dumbass -__-

  • @Sageboy13 You sir are the dumbass. Taking it apart is by no means "destroying it". He works for a company that FIXES consoles so how is he stupid for doing his job? Sadly, you monkeys are the reason why IT professionals have jobs.

  • What the fuck -___-

  • @MsAlex808 opean it and change the dvd drive or maybe somethin got fucked up inside

  • I'm Very Happy With The Survice You Have Provided For My Xbox Old School.

    Thank-You. 5 Star Rating.

  • I have a question.can u please answer. I might get the New xbox 360slim for christmas and i was wondering what are the chances of the NEW one getting E74 error? because my old one had the e74 error and fuckning sucks.

  • @ajhgfhgjbjhbjhb no it wont e74

  • @frank75263 so the new xbox 360 slim wont get a E74? no chance for it to get it?

  • @ajhgfhgjbjhbjhb very low since it now takes heat in from the sides (if lying horizontally) whereas the old unit took in air from the sides, top and bottom.

  • @vash01000100 O alright good. i dont want mine over heating haha

  • i don't think he'll be playing that ever again...

  • @TheJokerAdam why? it can't be reassembled?

  • like if you think this guy was making this up as he goes along

  • wait so what happened to the GPU??

  • @Tenzinpelha It's now on the same die as the CPU, hence the single heatsink...

  • @deathrifle that has got to be the dumbest thing I've ever heard. It will shut itself off before it over heats

  • what ive notice is that the xbox slim has no heatsink or is there!

  • @cj14ify heatsink is right under the fan as in most computers. This is much more efficient.

  • I would have been laughing if he forgot to put it back together thumbs up if you agree

  • X clamp?? u serious that was wrong wit the 1st xbox 360 n they goin to bring it back.. retards

  • @new14520 that was not the problem.

  • @fezlightning r u sure?? to much heat n wit tis clamp pushing against the board would cause stress on the board. that y the newer Xbox 360 had screw instead of a clamp. i know cause i had both model n the oldest one has fail while the newer 1 has not

  • @new14520 the new model still has the "x-clamp." the problem was the flexing of the motherboard due to uneven pressure by the chassis combined with the heat. xclamps contributed but did not cause the problem

  • @fezlightning I agree. One xclamp won't cause the problem. If you were really anal about it, you can replace them with nuts and bolts, but it's a waste of your time.

  • orale muy bien creo q lo hace por si vuelven las luces rojas verdad??? jajajajaja

  • is it possible for me to replace the dvd drive?

  • @234jari234 yes as long as you have the original dvd drive ,as it has the key on thats matched to the mobo.

  • is there anything you can do to a 360 that would make it perform better, or run smother, or anything like that? Kinda like what you can do to any desktop, upgrade the RAM, Processor, stuff like that?

  • i have an old xbox 360 and i play video games alot. i was wondering if the new xbox is better than the old and by better i mean does it read the disc at least 90 % of the tiime cuz my oldie hardly reads it and it pisses me off? pleaz get bck if there are any solutions, thx

  • shit dude 3:47, u are a tank

  • y would u do that to such a buatiful machine

  • This is gonna seem stupid but should I use the "towel trick" for my xbox 360 slim?

  • @deathrifle hehe that was a stupid question. NO YOU SHOULD NOT!

  • Any way to clean these without scratching the finsh?

  • ok i want to put an a glass window and some nice powerful fans on my xbox slim think you can give me an estimate i live in houton but travel to dallas all the time jorge.campos76@yahoo.com

  • where is the Warranty Tab? if i open my bad boy up will xbox know i have? i can't fine a warranty tab like on the old xbox.

  • its super elite not slim elite lolol

  • Wow, xbox teardown looks much easy than laptops.

  • you stupid dumb fuck, why would you touch a circuit like that, Im suprised it didnt blow the hole board

  • @21pokerboy he works for a company that fixes them douchbag

  • Although there appears to be a 'single chip' under the heatsink, it is a heatspreader covering two distinct chips, a CPU and a GPU. They merely share a heatspreader and heatsink.

  • The S doesn't have 'a single chip'. It has the CPU and GPU under the same heatsink, similar to Inte's Core i3 layout.

  • question is how to put it back together

  • Ive had my 360 forever and sometimes i leave it on all night the continue to play the next day then do it again. the longest it's been on is about 80 hours give or take a few. and no rrod.

  • @mooncricket209 one of the lucky ones... iv had a friend that his never rrod and had another with 3rrod it jus depends some do some dont ...

  • i have a question how come the new xbox 360 only has one heatsink?

  • @lases100 as the cpu is combined with the gpu called a "GCPU" ... so only 1 heatsink needed

  • @frank75263 thanks man

  • the hardware in the ps3 is from asus

    and the xbox360?????????

  • does anybody here have a xbox360slim that plays backup disks?

  • @vFA7AL17Yv it is possible if you modify the firmware of the dvd drive .. since about 2 months after the first slim came out this hack was released..

  • This might seem like a dumb question but I have my 360S laying down instead of standing up. Is this a bad idea as far as ventilation goes or does it not matter? The fan on the heat sink pulls the air straight up and out so I figured it would be best laying down. Also, I was thinking about placing an 80mm fan in front of the vents for the intake air right next to the hard drive to see if that reduces some of the heat. Is this a good idea or will it not really achieve anything?

  • @ARBuilder1776 The Xbox 360 system is built to go either way. The fan will not really achieve much since the fan that is currently in there is right on top of the heat sink just like in a computer. This is where all the heat is coming from so as long as you have it well ventilated and away from other hot electronics so it can take in cool air, you'll be good.

  • @wiredextreme Honestly i keep my xbox on the side for a major reason the red ring think about it if its standing up the gpu is getting pulled down but if its lyin down theres no way for the gpu to get bad.

  • @wiredextreme heyy dude can it overheat

  • @ARBuilder1776 When i bought my 250g 360 s i stood it up playing halo and it Laser burned the disk i brought the disk to gamestop and they said that all the slims do it if they are standing, bigger vibrations or moving the system while the disk is playing will cause the disk to get laser burned. Im not sure if it is on all them but i know mine does when its stands

  • @Sshibby I was afraid that might happen so I always had it laying down. I don' t understand why MS can't get their shiz together with the Xbox. There are DVD/CD systems that can play a disc without it even skipping like a car stereo does. I think they only see $ and don't bother trying to put out a product that its customers can count on to not burn up or destroy a disc.

  • @ARBuilder1776 to answer your first question i doesnt if it is standing up or laying down it still get the same amount of airflow...and the answer to your second question it would be a good idea to install a second fan for intake it would reduce heat by alot it would probaly make your systen run about 20 deg F cooler..

  • @ARBuilder1776 your xbox is quiter and heats up slower layin down so its better layin down

  • @ARBuilder1776

From knowledge and experience: Stand up your 360. Your lens will last twice as long

  • thank you i will have a nice day :)

  • mine keeps freezing up and getting really hot

  • i cant see a second clip on the bottom of the case im trying to install leds

  • Hi there,

    Love the film

    I have one question.

My question is that could you make a video of opening the Hard Drive Cage.

    (The little black thing)

    Reply me back

    Thanks in advance

  • I have my PS3 for 5 years that shit still works xbox360 life is about 1 year then that shit get red ring of death

  • @youjizz691 I have original Xbox. It's 8 years old now. Still works. I play it every day. And I also have Xox 360. It' now 4 years old. STILL WORKS. So that's you talking.

  • @SgtMcCullin haha, same here :D still got the first xbox, and the first xbox 360, runs like a dream :D

  • @youjizz691 yeah uhm thats not true, ive had my first xbox 360 for 4 years and my second one for 2

  • @youjizz691 yup they totally suck i turned mine on for 10 seconds overheated and blew up,NOT! i bet ur 1 of the people who always says oh yeah i got a 360 had on for 1 hour then broke, did u have it in an over?the longest i had mine on was 30 hours,no problems,no lagg,no feezing no rrod, ive had for almost 2 years

  • @youjizz691 you do know that the Playstation 3 was released in 2006, so it is only 4 years old at max.

  • why?

  • the xbox 360s is MUCH BETTER than ps3

  • to open the back there is an little hole under the power slot under the sticker

  • Nice video !, I have a new 360S, runs like a dream , but still a hot oven after 4+ hrs of play. MS still doing a pooor job regarding platform cooling ... rhe idea is probably to make sure the unit dont last over 3 years.

I still have the old 500.00 brick that I would like to fix. I have tried all posible fix you can imagine bur still dead..can you fix it ?

  • @IIIechelon We can certainly help you. Just give us a call at 214-222-5788 or visit our website

  • @IIIechelon it is meant to be hot when it blows hot air out that lets u know the air is not staying on the box

  • @IIIechelon MS is not failing at cooling this device it's amazingly cooler than previous gen 360s. Problem is that they chose to go with an IBM PowerPC Processor in the first place. IBM procs is what was used in MACs before they went Intel Core Duo. Apple dumped IMB Procs cause they were to hot! Then MS like a genius decided to not only go with IBM but a 3.2GHz Triple Core IBM PowerPC HEAT BEAST! 3 CORES!!! @ 3.2GHz!!! & ATI GPU in a tiny box with shitty heatsinks & the X CLAMP OF SHITDOM.

  • The best way to avoid knock-overs is to have your console laying on it's side. Simple.

  • poor xbox :(

  • Next year I'll be buying one of these systems

  • oh no -.- xclamp, no screws.. ROD is coming :O

  • @JumperMarcel

    ???

it doesn't make a difference. Xclamps work just as well as Screws.

you know nothing about the xbox. Xclamps have nothing to do with the RROD.

  • @BKsMassive i fixed my xbox by myself and it works great. I change the clamps with screws.. In the weeks after the clam fix it the clams are loosing more and more power and so they cannot fix it anymore. not xbox slim. But it still could be another mistake of the motherboard ^^

  • @JumperMarcel

all your doing but BOLTING down the heat sink on to a mother board is pressing really had down on the CPU and bending the Mobo.

    it's not a permanent fix.
