  • Look, I understand your concern as parents of diabetic kids. I have had Diabetes since I was 10. I actually was diagnose on my 10th birthday. I'll turn 17 on monday. That's 7 years of having to learn to live with it. And the best tip I can give to you, from the bottom of my heart, is to make your kids feel comfortable with it and not feel bad for themselves. Make them know that this is a condition, not a disease. And let them do it, if you calculate for them they'll never be confident enough

  • Your video is very moving and invites us into your world. So sorry for what you all go through. My son is 17 and got Type 1 at 8 years old. It's a constant worry, he won't test more than twice a day now, can't be bothered, he just wants to forget he has it.

  • I have 3 children also and the oldest 2 were diagnosed at age 1 and age 6 now age 9 and 7. The third childs test results just came back that he will most likely have it soon as well. He is only 3! God be with all of us!

  • Omg so amazing

  • i have diabetes! diagnosed 2 weeks before my 13th birthday..... havent got a pump so i'm still in 4 injections a day :S

  • Me I got type 1 diabetes and I've had it for 3 years now on the Insulin pump. The only way to stay alive with diabetes is if u treat it lik ur pet and u will more than stay alive with a awesomely good A1C lik mine which is 6.1 or 6.0 not exactly sure but yea im a beast with living with Diabetes :) YEAH!!

  • This made me cry as it hit home how difficult it is living with diabetes. I am 35 in a months time and started injecting insulin when I was 9 years old. I still inject 4+ times a day along with blood testing. I have never been offered an insulin pump and get ignored when I ask about it at the doctors or hospital. I find the hardest thing is it's always there and some days I wish I didn't have to think about it, I wish somebody else could take the responsiblity and look after me. Cure I wish!

  • Hello My name is Bella and im 12 year's old! I have had diabetes scence i was 1 and

Its not easy but some how i make it work! I Loved this video, and i saw that your oldest daughter like to play clarinet, I do also! Thanks for sharing your life with me!

  • WOW! I will pray for your family.

  • i am 1 and was diagnost when i was 2 on my birthday

  • Great video; my son has been dealing with type 1 for 4 years. I can't imagine him times 3. God bless you guys....

  • Great job on your slide show! An inspiration!

  • Not my 2 kids but they might as well be. They represent our own 3 kids.

  • I am 32 and have had type 1 since I was 20 yrs old. Its hard work, but you have to be willing to do the work. I did a lot of damage to my body for ignoring it for four yrs. To the point I had a stroke in 2000. That woke me up. Now my A1C is a 6 and has been for yrs. Everyday is a struggle. I'm looking into the pump and will get it in two months. Keep your head up little ones.. for I believe the miracle is on the way!

  • WE HEART SARAH, she's a great kid (:

  • very nice. My son was diagnosed a year ago, right after his 1st birthday. We are going on the pump in about 2 months. God love you guys and all you go through everyday! You have some great kids!

  • While I don't have diabetes, a friend of mine made two videos on her account. It won't let me post the links, but I think you will enjoy them. Her username is @HeartCOOP. Through her, and another friend, who sadly, passed away of unrelated causes, I have learned about the disease and I an watching random youtube videos to get more of a sence of everyday life.

  • i have diabetes and i have type 2 and it makes it hard for me and the family to do thingss

  • i have type1diabetes&have had it for a year now.the sad thing is its only been a year and i cant even remember when i didnt have to count carbs and measure everything out. i love your video, not only because i can relate to it so much, but how you can raise three kids with diabetes, counting everything, measuring everything. and also the insulin deff.gets up there too,i saw you have a container to organize your stuff so do we. awesome video! =)

  • If the rating wasn't disabled I would give this video a 5 star

  • Wow I only have one daughter dealing with this she is 9. You did a great job

    God Bless

  • all this needed was the website where to donate at. I loved it, I could not image, if all 3 of my kids had diabetes, i have enough troubles with just me having it. WONDERFUL WONDERFUL

  • my son is 13 and has been a type 1 diabetic for 4 years, every day i pray for a cure and that his brother will not develop symptoms..they say the chances are low but odviously it happens..pray for a cure these kids deserve the right to be children...and live long lives...

  • Extremely interesting and very moving. I wish you everything you wish yourself.

    there's HOPE!

  • Keep fighting your lifes for these 3 siblings

  • I was diagnosed a year ago. Let me tell you the hardest year of my life. It upset me at first, but i said maybe now I can help more kids aand people with diabetes. It is especially hard at my school, because many people forget I have diabetes and especially the cafeteria ladies. They are always saying that they can eat this and that and question why I cant eat what they eat and when I say I have type1, they look at me as if I'm nuts. The good thing is that there are 2 other diabetics at school.

  • I admire you and your family - I find it hard enough with one diabetic child, let alone 3! Praying for a cure!

  • Very nicely done Brian and Lori.

    Miss you all.

    Love,

    ~Uncle Lonnie

  • Wow; you describe it as it is. I only have one w/diabetes and she's a teen now so she handles most of everything by herself (except those 3 am testings) but your video reminds me vividly of past days.

  • thank you so much for this video!!!

i am 13 and was diagmosed with type 1 diabetes when i was 9.

something that really bothers me is the people who say that they can relate while they have type 2 diabetes...it bothers me an incredible amount! if anyone else feels this way or disagrees. please comment to me..

    thanks!!

    ~Hunter

  • I agree, i hate it too (:

  • Type 1 aways gets forgotten, because we are the minortiy there is more money in type 2 =(

  • I'm nearly 13, and was diagnosed almost 2 years ago. It annoys me so much when people are just like "oh my grandfather has diabetes" and I'm just like "shut up".

  • Im 18 and I am a healthy teen who was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Im not overweight but I developed it because my father is a diabetic and I cant say that I know how ppl with type 1 deal with it. I know the struggle because I have a cousin who has it but I know how hard it is as a teen having diabetes in general. I pray that they find a cure soon. EVERYONE DONATE TO THE DIABETES FOUNDATION SO WE CAN FIND A CURE AND END THIS CYCLE

  • I'm so sorry that everyone who has this horrible disease has to go through this! I know it's easier to say than do but everyone, if we all stay positive, there will be a cure soon! Say this sentence everyday, I'M SURE, THERE'S A CURE! Best of luck!

  • that's just like me and my other 2 sisters. we all have juvenile diabetes. i've had it since i was 2 years old and my sis ryan's had it since she was 3 years and my sis lauren was just diagnosed about 6 months ago so our life is hard and i know exactly how all of you feel feel free to talk and send me messages if you'd like to talk or any of your kids have ?'s i'm 8 yrs old and you can also message my sis Ryan she's 8 too.

    her accounts

    she's super nice :) ~~Emma

  • My son was diagnosed at age 2. He is now almost 4 and extremely independant already. He knows about diabetes and is not at all ashamed to have it, I'm very proud of him as well as my other sons who will always stand beside their brother. Alec is 5 and dyslexic, Kade and Kane are almost 4, Kade has come a long way since his diagnosis and my wife and I are extremely proud and are hoping for a cure during our son's life time!!
