Your info here is incorrect. The Pope is a representative of Christ who teaches Christs' doctrine without any faults, hence why we say he is infallible. St. Peter was the 1st pope and all other popes after are successors. The Vatican does not teach that the Pope cannot sin. The Pope sins because he is human and thus through birth has naturally acquired a fallen nature through original sin of our first parents Adam and Eve, as did St. Peter.
