A real media crew would have a van with the markings of whatever network your from, and you'd probably get out of the van and film properly. 1) They never asked why they were pulled over. 2) Police are allowed to ask for drivers license - which is required to drive and she did not have, so she was indeed in the wrong. The cop never said he was going to arrest anyone and in fact left her go without a ticket for driving without a license (paper or not). Having said all that, pulling someone over for a "drive-by filming" is total nonsense.
Not sure in US but in Canada have 24 hrs to show proof of your licence , The best apporach was your approach stay calm non hostile wise and composed very well done William

I see nothing wrong with this. The woman was driving without a driving license. The officer was quite correct in that she has to go and get the license. The police officer would be within his rights to have shot these people as they were breaking the law. Actually we WERE using a rented van to transport Newspapers AND to do Filming... so it was a commercial
USE, and the cop was quasi-within his rights to ask for License. But we were on PRIVATE HOTEL PROPERTY,
when he stopped us, and THERE I don't think he had a right
to do so. Note he stayed on the street.
