  • Lead guitarist moved around too much during solo's but you guys did awesome, and despite what everyone says, the sax belongs.

  • sounds great !

  • Dont give up your day job . Keep trying though.

  • I think you guys did a great job, =)

  • ...That's a P bass, not a J...

  • It seems i'm the only one who like Saxophone... Well, ok... I'll survive...

Anyway, the drums are really bad. Poor lead guitarist, he must play a really hard solo at this bad, and inconstant, speed...

About the lead Guitar, good job... Good voice too... The bass it's ok, but not awesome...

    Well, i think 4 stars...

But i'll not give you, since i don't rate videos that deserve, in my opinion, less than 5...

  • lose the saxaphone fuck

  • @DannyDee08 Listen to the Dire Straits Live, fuck.

  • Vocal is more than average. I really like the guitar solo. Good quality of sounds. However, too many guitars. Drums are out of control and messing things up. And PLEASE, get rid of SAX.

  • You're right, but I know that it is really hard to choose songs for many musicians and everybody want some part to play

-think the main problem here is the man behind the mixer and first of all the ego of each bloke!

    LOUDER isn't BETTER!

  • lol someone messed up a little bit but crowd didnt seem to notice.. too many guitars dude, cool sax tho. 5 stars.

  • too many gtrs, get rid of sax. slow down, and learn the song again

  • The drummer speeds up.. This was not good.

  • excellent!!!!!!!!good sax

  • You where very good but I don't like the sax in it but that's maybe because i always listens the original sound, maybe a little slower but i like it for a cover! I love it!

    You got 5 from me!

  • This wasn't bad at all! Nice vocals and cool sax

  • Not a fender jazz bass, p bass me thinks

  • Hey try these riddles and email me the answers:

    1. you're stuck in a cement block w/ only a mirror and a bed, how do you get out?

    2. You imagine yourself in a cement block with only one way out. How do you get out?

  • Must be nice to just have to play and not have to sing it properly. Codgers in Filey can do it.

  • need a singer

  • A bit too much guitar player on the stage, but the whole sounds pretty good. You got 4 stars from me, for the attempt. :) Keep practising!

  • very good

  • Too fast but great job

    keep up the good work

  • i never heard the real song..but it sounds good like it is.....i thought the sax was great! like i said..i've never heard the original.

  • Why are everybody complainin so much? I think this is really great. You can't compare with Knopfler. He's the god of guitar playing. Well, maybe it's too fast, and stuff like that but like Kapacon said, most young bands couldn't even attempt to play this song.

You did a great job guys!

  • what's with all the guitars

  • faster! faster! faster! Please, no "heat is on" gay sax shit on this classic. C-

  • Shut up man, this was great. The sax added on to the awesomeness, and the Straits played this song with saxes all the time. You should've included "alto sax" in the "played with" section.

  • fucken shit!

  • well, this goes to show that having all the right gear and fancy equipment does not make a good musician ...no offenz !

too fast tempo, no groove, and the sax is a no no for this song. Just my humble opinion. Nice try, though...

  • really good!

  • too fast

  • nothing good in beeing a stupid parrot 2/5

  • Good stuff lads. Think that you're probably one guitarist too heavy tho. Not really sure why you're all looking at the guy doing the solo bits like he's Steve Vai, it's an easy enough song to play :-) Drums very good, love the sax sound, singer's good but needs to but a bit more passion into it, and stop looking so much like Prince Harry. you've got some nice gear. Well done.

  • Most young bands wouldn't,(couldn't)even attempt this song. Nice clean guitar solo--bravo to you guys.

  • a little sloppy, you guys need to be tighter as a band

  • Yes, good job boys, like the sax, you've done well considering you got three guitars and a bass. Good stuff keep it up.

  • i like the sax in it... they played well, and the singer was great too

  • very nice guys

  • The guy with the black guitar is cute....

  • Does that wine red have gold or chrome hardware, i can't tell. .... ??? :)

  • chrome

  • yeah-looks like just goin thru the motions... wheres the feeel!!!

  • I don't like sax in Dire Straits

  • Way to go guys!!!

  • Very solid boys. Very solid

  • o btw, sax is awesome

  • u are good... werry good,It.s not so easy song,so I think that u did a great job...

  • Honest Feedback! Way too many guitars on stange. Bass sounds like a guitar..get a Hartke VX bass amp..better low end. Your lead guitarist is awesome..very smooth

  • Great job, guys!

  • People can play bass with pick or fingers. There is no "real" way. Just as you an play guitar with pick or fingers.

Very very good performance. Got the sounds all tight and right.

  • it's a fender precision not a jazz bass

  • So then you're saying that guys like Chris Squier from Yes aren't "real" bass players?

  • Real bass players don't use picks. The sax is nice. The lead guitar is awesome!! All in all - good performance - Impressive.

  • Ummm wrong, a pick on bass is used to get a more percussive sound. VERY useful in Rock and Roll.

  • I disagree. There is a way to pick with your fingers and have it sound almost identical to a picked sound. Why would you want to sacrifice all five of your fingers just to hold one pick?

  • nice but, wtf? 3 guitars?

  • I notice that now that I see your comment. haha It looks like they're waiting in line or something.

  • Nice!! but a bit on the fast side ease it uo go slower relax and be more confident and have funn dont just stand straight move a bit and its a bit blury but nice

  • The talent boy is the one with white guitar. Vocals is not very strong.

  • very nice cover

  • Nice work...but a little on the fast side. Your Strat guys does an amazing job...but I wish it was slower so he could make the notes languish a bit. The secret to this song is the subtle "sexiness" of the vibrato that you can't capture if you play too fast... ^_^

  • great version...

  • I hate to be a smelly guy but that is not a jazz bass. Great video and sound though.

  • Not that bad, but remember it's called Sultans of SWING! You play the song too fast. I miss the swing. Keep on trying and you'll be successful.

  • i like the sax addition. not too many bands with a sax plaer anymore. why do you have 3 guitar players though?

  • Copying is good to start off with. Develop your own style.

  • Oh--one thing I observed...you guys don't look like you're having FUN!!!! The Strat guy kinda mills around, and there's no band interaction...that's the first rule of being in a band--HAVE FUN!!! (The audience feeds off of it) Watch the movie School of Rock for Guitar God posturing...<grin>.

  • Really good job covering this demanding tune. The claw is a hard technique to copy, and it's obvious your strat guy has worked on this. I'd recommend that he watch the '78 version from the Old Grey Whistle Stop here on YouTube to get some of the fills he plays; your guy pretty much uses the same one between each verse stanza. Still--great job! -BB

  • Thankyou very much! Have just watched the old grey whistle video, is it very impressive, shame the outro is cut off :P

  • Very true. Knopfler is an incredible player--doesn't get his due acclaim, IMHO. Hey--check out our band webpage -- www.ontracylane.com -- new pics are coming soon, I've been with them for about 2 months. We're on myspace.com as well...is your band on myspace? Let me know... -BB

  • I dont really like Myspace... i find the layout messy.

Your bands website looks good dude!

And i totally agree! Knopfler doesnt get half the respect he deserves in the guitaring world.

  • Does your band have a website? Pass it back if so...

  • Unfortunatly we dont at the moment. We were a school band and we have all just left sixth form. I (the lead guitar strat player) will be starting a dire straits cover band in Bristol soon though!

  • Best of luck to you! I'm originally from Cheltenham, and have a lot of family in Eastborne. Let me know when you get your group together!

  • Very, very nice =)

  • Good job

  • Do you have any other knopfler songs by Strawberries & Wine? Would be very nice!

  • Unfortunatly not at the moment.. We should be recording some more soon. I will upload them when we record it :-D

  • Cool!:) But why don't play the long live version a'la bia tour 1985/86?

  • Ooh forgotten all about that version! Will do that next time :-D

  • nice version with the saxophon-..

  • One of my fave songs . . .Good performance!

  • Thankyou very much! :-D

  • Awesome!
