Nice arrangement, but the tempo seems way too fast. Have you heard/seen Jon Augistine's version? Another comment here talked about a tone of "joy", however, I believe the tone is really meant to be awe, grace, forgiveness, and redemption. Not easy emotions to imube into a song, but that's why it's called music. The lyrics can only take us so far (as singers/musicians). The rest is tone, intonation, and tempo. The heart sees what the ears may not. Keep it up!
Wonderful sound--I'll have to check out the rest of your videos :)
What I found really interesting is that out of the dozens of performances of this song on YouTube, you are the only other group I've found that does the arrangement that we do, which we learned from Ysaye Barnwell. Is that who you got this arrangements from as well?
Y'all did a wonderful job with this! Beautiful sound, tight timing, AND a joyful spirit! I'm sorry to read that you all have scattered, but I do hope that you each are finding ways to keep singing.
My a cappella group is going to do this song this season, and your version has me feeling inspired!!!!
why does every one sing this song so fast. This song is suppose to be sung with soul and slow. I sang this song like three or four years ago in my chorus and we sang it fast to and I didnt like it. but other then going to fast you all had nice vocals and harmony
@magiclydlcious, we were just a very part-time university acapella group; disbanded as soon as we graduated in 2001. Great days. Personally thought this was a little fast but who am I to argue with the stats and comments? Thought we did Mozart's motet Ave Verum better

So pretty, but it'd be better if the melody was more audible!

What a gorgeous sound! I've listened to all of the other videos of this group and I really love their voices. Do they still perform?

@shyeaman, I'm so glad you like it :) The group were together at Uni but we went our separate ways afterwards.
