  • Nyaaa nyaa nyaaa I'm almost forgetting!! IF you havn't seen it, GO WATCH TRAP DOOR! If you like Duckula, you'll love this show!!!!!

Another UK Classic horror claymation fun pack :D see ya!

  • Duckula makes one proud to be English :D Arrrggggghhhh I have the plastic case complete set! Gotta go back and get the book type, me wants art cards!!

Hey you should check out the Duckula annuals, they're just as funny.

Quick question, what's your fave episode of Duckula? mine has to be Igor's Busy Day LMAO!

  • Danger Mouse and Duckula. 2 of the Best Cartoon Theme songs of all time.

  • oly season 1 in the u.s.a way?

  • @mauromesa78 Yep. The entire series was shown on TV here a while back, but only the first season was released on DVD. Only way to get the complete series is to get the UK set.

  • Loved Duckula as a kid. Had a Jumper with his face on it, stationary set, and books of some of the episodes. Cosgrove Hall was based in Manchester and they made some top kids TV shows. Wind in The Willows, Count Duckula, Pingu, Dangermouse, many others. Sadly it's now closed.

  • @Fishergaz Best we Americans got was a comic book series from Marvel that was penned by a few artists like Warren Kremer before a stroke forced him to leave the comic world forever.

  • @RetroToledo Awesome! I actually didn't know there was a comic. I shall have to track those down now...

  • @Zaranyzerak I once had the first issue or so that I won in one of Nickelodeon's "Nick or Treat" phone call sweepstakes!

  • From the us box-set; other way around!

  • @2409chris back in the VHS days...

  • duckula pwns all the twilight fag vamps edward and that taylor lautner wolf boy am i right?

  • @morganthegeeknerd

  • Ello DuckyBoo, great review, some of the best animation from the UK back 1980's. Proud to be British! Keep up the excellent work Zaranyzerak!! :0)

  • where the f@"k can i get these box sets?? ive looked everywhere!!

  • @DeejayFrighty Didn't look that hard, didja? I just spent about a second checking Amazon UK and they're both right there... Apparently the UK version of Danger Mouse is an uber deluxe 12-disc 25th Anniversary Edition, no less! And the Complete Duckula goes for under 15 quid....

  • @Zaranyzerak Indeed.

  • @Zaranyzerak It's amazing how people just don't look online for stuff!

  • This show was what introduced me to vampires. I used to love this show when I was about 7 or so. I loved this show so much that I begun to read vampire books and I still love vampire stuff to day. Duckula is a great show, it was not to scary for children, but at the same time the episodes actually did have plots. I did not know this was out on DVD, thanks for the information. I have ordered the set off ebay now. I wonder if I will like it as much now that I am an adult.

  • I hope you do a Review of the OTHER movie I was asking you about.

Song of the South, specifically. because I think it DESIRVES a review, just as I think it deserves an Official Release from Disney

  • Love Danger Mouse but I don't recall ever seeing Duckula. I would like to check both those out at some point. Great work as always buddy. Rosie's just to cute funny bat show hehe.

  • @RazMansReality Count Duckula gave birth to another Cosgrove Hall show called 'Victor and Huge: Bunglers in Crime' (most notably based off two French bird characters from the show, turned human by the animators :D). As of yet, it has not been released on DVD anywhere...yet. But I'm sure it would be a nice edition to Sean's collection or any Cosgrove Hall collection, Razman. :)

  • @David315842 Oh I forgot to mention, Count Duckula and Nanny made guest apperences in a couple of the Victor and Hugo episodes and Hugo made a reference to Danger Mouse in one episode. :D

  • @David315842 That's very interesting David sounds like cool shows. Thanks for the info!

  • @RazMansReality You're very welcome. :)

  • @David315842 Oooh, nice! Let's hope that one gets a DVD release at some point. You are truly a walking encyclopedia of cartoon knowledge, David! :)

  • @Zaranyzerak You're welcome. I certanly didn't need Cereal Geek for that one, as it was from the 90's and watched the show in my youth. :D Freemantle (who has all the Cosgrove Hall/Thames licences) have released most of the studios catalog, with just a few more titles left, so I'm hoping Victor and Hugo (based on Gaston and Pierre) will be released at some point in the future. :)

  • I noticed one of the postcards was of 'Who-might and You-be' from the first episode "No Sax please we're Egyption".

    God I love Duckula.

  • @yodabejedi Yes indeed! I love how they randomly all burst into song at the end of the whole "Who Might You Be" exchange. :D

  • @Zaranyzerak Yeah dude. Plus how awesome is the Vincent Price impersonator during the intro?! Is it sad that I used the Tremendous Terrance 'May the fourth be with you' gag all day on tuesday? Hehe.

  • @Zaranyzerak And Up-she rises! :D

  • Y don't U sell thy US/CAN set? Would you choose between a half an hour featurette (if I spelled that right) or 70 Bucks to buy about 5 2 hour movies? Resulting in 10 hours of entertainment.

  • The UK version of They Live is a must have

  • Funny bat show, aww adorable XD

  • I want to send you something, whats your address?

  • What exactly is the funny bird show?

  • @fergmaster Funny BAT show. Make sense now?

  • @Zaranyzerak Ah ok, gotcha.

  • David-bunch-of-numbers always makes me laugh :)

  • @HowToDs Why?

  • @David315842 I think he means he finds the nickname I've given you kinda funny. :)

  • @Zaranyzerak I had a feeling it may have been that. No doubt you'll know I'm planning on sending you a few more pakages. :D

  • wow, shes growing fast!

  • when my family first got a vhs recorder back in early 80's dangermouse was the first thing i ever recorded, i musta watched the same episode like 400 times in a week

  • I just noticed aan error you said Danger Mouse was over when Duckula began....nope! They both were produced around the same time, at least being produced along with the later Danger Mouse series. Oh and the Duckula disks are in Region 0, so people just need to have PAL/NTSC compatible DVD players or TV's to play them in non PAL territories!

  • Sweet I love my Count Duckula Complete Set , I got it for Just £7.99 at a local shop BRAND NEW!!

Saw someone asking about regions , jeez you'd think everyone in this day and age (especially subscribers to you) would rhave a Region free player. Or they would of used the net to get a code to make theirs Region free. Its so annoying when im asked by friends about 'How i play my american sets?' . I mean come in its 2010 get it together > : (

Have you even seen Superted? Its Childish but Awesome!

  • @xxAnimeToonsxx I always loved the end theme of SuperTed myself!

  • Hey loved the review I might buy the Duckula set. I noticed you are also canadian =D. Lol anywho I have started uploading some videos and I just finished filming my first dvd review which I am going to upload soon. Hope to see more great reviews and updates from you.

    Ryley =D

  • Haha! I thought Rosie was going to knock of Danger Mouse for a second and yell "dumb show, Duck show better!"

  • i watched both these shows when i was a kid, and i never knew count duckula was on danger mouse. i think i have asked you this before, but did you ever watch only fools and horses, david jason did the voice overs for both count duckula and danger mouse.

  • i loved the intro n credits song in count duckula , i think im gonna watch them now

  • There is a UK version of the complete series of Danger Mouse (which has a metal-colored cover art) that has a total of 12 discs as suppose to the North American version which has 9 discs. I dont know if that means more extras or the episodes being spread out but I have no idea what is on the UK set.

  • I did a quick check on Duckula. Since it's been discontinued I noticed that people on like Amazon are selling the first season for $120.27. Wow. Dangermouse: The Complete Series runs about $70 dollars. This is excluding the Shipping and Handling. Though I'm tempted to get from the users since that's way cheaper, but the Admiral Ackbar in me is saying "It's a trap!"

  • @bgcorporation Yeah, the U.S. Duckula set is going for outrageous prices now. You're much better off just to import the UK set, which would probably cost you about 30 dollars total. Danger Mouse retails for about 70, but if you buy it from ebay or amazon sellers you can get it for much less. I don't know anyone who has paid more than 15 dollars for it (and yes, the official release, not a bootleg knock-off).

  • @Zaranyzerak i'm in Australia where can you import US and UK dvds?

  • Aww I'm glad Rosie was mesmoried by the UK 'funny bat show' set, I aim to please! :D Since you've now started this US Vs. UK comparison thingy, I've now took it upon myself to plan to send few a few more UK DVD's (Trust me you'll love 'em) including a couple you can compare. I'll let you know when I've sent them. :) I'm surprised though we never got that comparison featurette, ah well. I also have the UK Danger Mouse set and it's a very big set. :D

  • @David315842 Oh BTW I don't mind you calling me David...Bunch O'Numbers now. That sounds like quite a nickname. :D

  • I really want the UK version of count duckula :D

  • @MikeLadefoged So import it. Amazon's UK site and play (dot) com do sell to European destinations, including Denmark. You'll just have to pay for postage. :)

  • @David315842 I know but i dont use amazon. I just hope axelmusic gets it again :)

  • @MikeLadefoged I'm guessing axelmusic is a Danish store that handles UK imported DV D's

  • @David315842 Nah its a UK store that export to Denmark :)

  • @MikeLadefoged OK. Well Amazon and Play do as well. It's free to set up accounts with both and they are BOTH the most realiable DVD stores. Or other large names like HMV, I'm pretty sure they import. Axelmusic sounds like it's one of those more 'limited stock' places which won't hurry to re-stock on items.

  • @David315842 Yeah axelmusic dont really get re-stocked that often :) Im also thinking about going over to amazon and play but i dont know how quick they export to Denmark.

  • @MikeLadefoged I'd say within 2 weeks maximum. That's usually how long something gets imported from Mainland Europe to the UK, so I guess about that length of time. Not too long though.

  • @David315842 Well thats the same as axelmusic so it sounds good. I have to check it out next time im ordering films. Thanks for the advice :)

  • @MikeLadefoged You're very welcome. :)

  • Do Canadians have a greater appreciation for UK television than their American counterparts or is it just you? Along with Duckula/DangerMouse I noted you have a lot of DrWho and various other British stuff.

  • Will you do a US VS Germany Version on the original Ninja Turtles Toon? There are currently two Boxsets of the TMNT in German including the first 50 episodes.

  • @hudemx He only does comparisons of sets in English! He dosen't have the German sets!

  • @David315842 Well I'm ust asking, because as UK Boxsets the German are RC2 and do include the uncut US Episodes in a far better Quality.

  • @hudemx Since he lives in Canada, he only buys Region 1 DVD's from where he lives. He hardily imports. Usually it's people like me who does import disk to him. BTW I saw that TMNT set from Germany, it looks cool. Though the UK has just had Seasons 1 and 2 released on DVD last year and yep like your set the picture quality should be better as the episodes are not so compresed.

  • He's the greatest, He's fantastic, Wherever there's DVDs he'll be there, He's the ace, He's amazing, He's the strongest he's the quickest he's the best, Zaranyzerak!!!

  • @Barbaryotaku All he needs now is a spineless sidekick, an absent minded cheif and a villian with a sore throat. :D

  • For a moment there I thought you'd say: "Thanks to David... Hasselhoff!" hahahaha

  • Can you play UK? I don't know if I've already asked that but I know about Regions.

  • @bheemabachus Yes, we have a Region-free player that also does on the fly PAL to NTSC video conversion. So what that means is we can basically play anything form anywhere in the world.

  • I am gonna search for those sets to be added into my collection too.

  • YAY! Such a great day for this review!

  • rosie!!! :)

  • Thank you so much for reviewing these! I've been wanting to buy the UK complete Duckula series and I think I will very soon. I'll probably buy Danger Mouse at some point as well. :)
