@jm431 The chevron spikes? that's for noise reduction.. The 797's due out in 11 years will have morphing spikes that make the engine even quieter than the 787's.
@dima78350 Maybe at some point is good to have all cockpit with similar layout, probably for pilots when upgrading from a smaller airbus , won't have too much difficult adapting to the environment, it apply the same rule for cars, when you change of car sometimes there are stuff in different place
(1) I gues the freedom you have when your in the air, when im flying I forget about all the problems of life and fall into a kind of trance.
(2) We want to design new aeroplanes for different reasons, to improve certain things, reliability, comfort, speed, fuel efficiency many different reasons.
Will post the rest in a new comment as the wordcounts is a bitch.
(3) Building new aeroplanes, from a military point of view if can be an icon of power between countries, which country has the better planes and whatnot.
(4) We prove how far mankind and aviation has travelled through the last 100 years, plain and simple. =D
"one of the reason that we design new aeroplane because we want to feel different in the air. We want to have the excitment when we firstly step on an aeroplane. We want to have a feeling of a night club and a disco. We want to have a new perception for our 5 senses including colour and lighting, spaciousiness, touch feeling of the seat, interaction of cabin facilities...etc"
bomberfun1, you are an idiot. Why do you think those fenced off areas are located where they are? You are the one who should be fired any second, you retarded moron.
dude its just engine start-up its does not suck stuff inside it unless its trusting up....and plus the fence also protect it if something fails......and up to my conclusion, you are a moron... :D
it doesn't even matter..the fence are consealed to the ground and the thrust are not able to suck anything bigger then the fence until its on 80 percent or higher witch in this case..the pilot will held responsible...
I have grounds to suspect that you are probably work in McDonald's flipping burgers and smoking weed in the back or you are very narrow-minded by the level of your thoughts and comments. I think you played too many games where a person always has "100% health" and it's possible to pick up health packs. I feel that arguing with you is pointless, you get injured one day, you'll know. If the pilot will be responsible...yeah right, it would be your OWN fault.
dude...i am 15...you clearly don't understand that my brother works in boieng plant as a test pilot..if you know this so call daily routine is not dangerous. the engine has been controlled not to thrust up. and by the way fyi, starting engine is very simple. you activate the apu and pump oil pressure into the valve as a burning substance. the throttler is a different story.. thats why, test pilots are responsible..they are trained well enough...but i do agree there is some danger there...
stabilizer failure is a concern. but, elevator failure practically impossible on the 777 & 787 types coz of the advanced flight control system. however, structural failure is probable. boeing rules, the most pilot-friendly airplanes, with pilot friendly manuals!
failure: perform ineffectively or inadequately. Again "What a stupid comment", you obviously don't have an aerospace background. I'm not sure what you think an analogue flight deck could do in the event of an elevator failure when compared to a glass flight deck. A glass flight deck allows pilots to increase their situational awareness and decrease their workloads, which has been a godsend in the few situations I've been in when workload has been higher then normal on the flight deck.
@pedalz1115 well i think u mean "fly by wire" ! glass cockpit its jst the electronic display of the instrument! in case of an elevator failure the "fly by wire" system would make the flight easier in case of any failure!! but the glass cockpit doesnt!! like i said glass cockpit its jst the electronic display of the instruments and NAV
@ld8800 No, I dont mean "fly by wire", if that would have been mentioned in the first place I would have agreed, although I've never flown fly by wire aircraft. The initial comment I was responding too was about "glass cockpits". (Look for TheTruthHurtsYup and his initial comments)
Beautiful *tear* Boeing all the way. i wonder whether when i come of age i wil be able to get 787 type rating. i have 7 years (currently 14 years old) and counting til i can get ATP or PPL

Dear All,
I have some questions about psychology:
(1)Why do we love flying?
(2) Wy do we want to imagine that ocean animals can fly in the sky, especially children?
(3) Why do we like to imagine and to image aeroplanes as ocean animals? (eg. 747 = whale & 787 = dolphin)
(4) Why do we want to build an aeroplane looking like a penguin in the ocean?
(5) Why do we enjoy to image sea animals are flying at sea?
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for your creative ideas and brainstorm!!! :)

(2) Why do we always want to design new aeroplanes?
(3) Why do we think that building new aeroplane is a representation of success?
(4) What do we prove through designing and building new aeroplane?
