  • Obviously an anti handgun text. I love Queen, they're my favorite band especially the earlier work, but Hot Space was their worst album and the message of this song is naive and condescending. I'm not an American citizen, but I carry a concealed handgun legally, and my sons sleep safe at night because I'm here to defend us. My neighbor had a home invasion with multiple bad guys with guns while he was home. He was badly hurt. I'll give up my gun when every last bad guy has given up theirs.

  • queen were anti nucluer and so anti gun

  • Great work as usual Fritzes007!!!!! I have an idea on what song you should make next!!! =D

  • Looooooooooove it!!!!

  • Popcorn is my favorite snack. Don't get me wrong, but there's an old saying, "Ye shall know them by their fruit". Freddie was so sweet, and definitely fruity! I'm a musician and have been listening to Queen since the early 70's. My favorite at that time was the Rock Opera "Jesus Christ Superstar". You can blame Sigmund Freud for the rest. LOL!

  • such a cool music

  • "Put out the Fire" is the fire of lust that now they could all quench. A "weapon like a hole in the head", again Freudian; Male genitalia has a hole in the H_ _ d. "Let your sons & your daughters sleep sound in their beds" meaning sons & daughters of the Governments, or Lucifer. The band is "Queen" for Gods sake, & their early lyrics are Deeply Dark sweetened with "Choir-Like" voices.

  • @lambiziness "I Want to Break Free" by Queen, again meaning free from sexual discrimination, by either government/church/state; when Freddy says "god knows" he could mean either Lucifer, or "Almighty God" with a capitol "G", yet the fruit of his spirit would lean me more toward his likely lord: "Satan". Queen and Freddys lyrics became more radio-friendly with age but if you study Freddys early lyrics: very dark, yet delivered with whimsical style and flair. Succubus/siren style so be careful.

  • @lambiziness Wow Where the hell did you get all that? First, I want to break free doesn't have any "meaning free from sexual descrimination, by either government/church/state" And Freddie doesn't say anything like that, in fact, he didn't even write that song, John did, the purpose of the video itself is just fun. This is ridiculous, Queen are not a satanic band, stop taking your interpretations of their songs as general knowledge facts. You know nothing about their lyrics and what they meant.

  • @lambiziness

your comments are quite ignorant really and crap

what do you lily of the valley is about?

    its about jesus christ.

  • @lambiziness i want to break free is a simple song about relationship between a man and woman falling out of love

  • @lambiziness

    queen made up mythical worlds

they are myth just like cs lewis and tolkien

they are symbolic of good and bad they are not real

  • @lambiziness

put out the fire is not about lust its about excuses for war

the mutal assured destrcution nucleur policy mad

and warmongering politicions using things as excuses to escalate wras and get the public on their feet cheering them on

  • @DILLONSONG really?, i always thought it was about a guy killing someone for not shaking his hand, and about a guy killing his wife and neighbor for sleeping together

  • @lambiziness you have a freudian corrupted and so dirty mind

  • Mad Masquerade refers to legislation being passed @ the time in the U.K., France, Netherlands & The Good 'ol USA protecting citizens sexual preference so now they have rights and can come out of the closet. The "Guns" & "Shooting " purely freudian, male genitalia symbolism. "Lover" means "Bi's" & "Gays" of "Tranny" types. Come'on Sheeple; wake up.

  • The only song on Hot Space that I really thought qualified as great.

  • I love that parody of the NRA slogan at 2:19

  • HS is really great album

  • Actually that lyric toward the end there is not "Take It that far" it's "Take aim and fire" I believe like the rest of the song it is ironic in that Freddie is actually suggesting that you "take aim and fire" at that old-fashioned gun law, rather than suggesting to the listener that they fire a gun. The Chorus' words and the title "Put Out The Fire" are pretty clearly saying this song is anti-gun and for good reason.

  • @NearbyPlovis You might be one hell of a receceiver because when I listened carefully enough it's true that's what the line said "Take Aim and Fire"... Way to go man...Simply AWESOME!!!*

  • We need a weapon like a hole in the head to kill 1 person.

  • why is this not on my greatest hits cd? HFREWUVHREWOFH

  • Please don't shoot me. I'm an American.

  • eargasm .... Put out the fire !

  • @ruffles272 Yeah it Freddie for the most part. The falsetto part is Brian, though.

  • @supersecretdcofan123 I think the "she was my lover" was Brian too

  • holy shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Only one person dislikes this, they must have bad taste in music.

  • Ohh man, I think I finally found a Queen song I don't like. It's the lyrics though, I like the music.

    C'mon, Brian. :(

  • @Dancerpaw either you love guns and the things people do with it or you totally misunderstood the lyrics ^^

  • @dobofrexxar I don't "love" guns, or absolutely everything that people do with them, but I'm not anti-gun.

  • @Dancerpaw Actually i think this is really irony, "you need like a hole in the head" its an irony phrase.

  • Isnt that a Mays song?

Very good one actually, pure ROCK.

Also Brian May can to compose the great music, not only Mercury.,

  • hahahahah perhaps one Justin Bieber geek xd

  • who said it wasn't a hit?All queen songs have been a hit at least for 1year :).

  • Man i'd never listen this song but now i love it <3

  • Hot Space was so poorly produced.......sooo tinnie with no bottom......yuch

  • This is just like an old-fashioned American rock song. A lot of gun crime reference in it but a very good song.

  • So... this song is about... uhhhhhh.... the messed up legal system, maybe?

  • we need 1 coffin.

  • @1996jay for you, cuz you care about dislikes. Idiot.

  • how was this song not a hit at the time???

  • One of my favorite queen songs ^^

  • this is the definition of great music

  • real music!

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO DONT KNOW, BRIAN WAS UNDER THE INFLUENCE WHEN HE RECORDED THE SOLO! =D

  • @MsDeakyMayTayMercury

    influence of what?

  • @Hubbleknarf Alchohol. He continued to try the solo but was unsuccessful, so he had a lot of alchohol and did it the way he wanted! sorry for not being specific. =D

  • @MsDeakyMayTayMercury And he's been clean and sober ever since.

  • @shemu007
