  • hmm you could put Nutella in the center as well :) it must taste delicious

  • Looking 4 a recipe for "apricot horns" from my childhood Christmas parties. They were a soft, sort of tart/savory cookie with an apricot filling. Very similar to the Kifles and Kolaches I'm finding online; however they were shaped differently. From what I recall they were more of a round shaped cut with apricot in the center and then both sides of the circle were folded over to meet sort of forming a "horn" shape. Are these the same thing??? I love these cookies and I need to make them!!

  • i made these last christmas sooooo good!!!

  • hmmm I've never seen this type of kolache before. this is just like a crazy jam empanada. still looks delicious, just not really a kolache....

  • @hummingbird0711 I didn't name the recipe, that's what it was called in the recipe book.

  • @hummingbird0711 Actually my Czech mom made these every Christmas - she called them Kolacky (pronounced koloch-kee).

  • Aunt Tammy! Stop making me hungry. :)

  • @jihahazman15 lol!

  • Mine had a dougie taste to it ... not sure what a did wrong ...

  • @daps2000 hmmm...were they a bit undercooked? It has been so long since I made these I can't remember if they had a bit of a doughy taste or not.

  • this is from my contry same name but we put wallnuts and its the same exact thing and good pronounaceation:)

  • @Sisters4EverABNR Thanks!

  • @Sisters4EverABNR What country are you from? My mom is Czech and made them every Christmas - only difference is she didn't fold them over - just put a dent in the center and put in the jam, baked and rolled in powder sugar immediately out of oven and then again when cooled. Same recipe - just different shape and LOTS more powder sugar! :)

  • I just wish i had a working oven. i would have made everything from your channel! looks so yummy.

  • @KaPun Thanks! Hope you get a working oven soon :)

  • Are you sure you are not a little Kebbler Elf.... hehehehe

You sure do whip out some great cookies!

That dough reminds me of rugalech with the use of cream cheese.

    HugZ sugar!

  • Kebbler elf? Well, I'm only 5'2" so I'm almost elf height, lol.

I will have to google rugalech!

  • I will be definitely be making these.

  • OMG....you made them already!!! I did a triple take when I saw the title of your new video! Good Lord you're quick, I like just sent that to you a day or two ago!

Thank you for making and filming it, I definitely have to make those now!

Tho I do have to confess that I waited until the end of the video to comment to make sure that it got a good passing grade from you first! :P

  • Thanks for the website suggestion, the photos are beautiful on there, and some of the Halloween goody ideas are really neat.

  • *drooooooooooool* :)~

  • Thanks!

  • Much Love ...Travis

  • Hi Travis :)

  • Looks Russian (or eastern European at least) ...and the dough is just cream cheese, butter, & flour! You specified it's salted butter. We only have unsalted butter, is the salt content critical?

  • I don't think the salt or lack thereof will make any difference. I mention that it is salted butter, because if I don't, someone will ask!

  • Oh Yummy! I'm going to have to borrow this recipe for MY Christmas baking too, you know? :-)

  • Hi Beekee! These are kind of like little jam turnovers, very yummy especially warm out of the oven.

  • Oh GOD these look yummy!

  • Thanks!

  • Ooooh - good stuff! Thanks! And I'll go look for yesterdays - thanks for the info.

  • Hello Liz!

  • You should put the URL to the video in the description box. I'm very bossy like that ;) I see where it was loaded befor the butterscotch toffee bars and was a fail. You got 55 views on that whereas you normally get 170-230+ hits. So yeah, loading ahead of time is a fail (lol) I had a "money shot" jonesing yday.

    MMMMMMMMMM 3:44 is it. YUMM!!!!!

  • I ended up just deleting the "cookie fail" video. Not much point having a failed cookie video up. I just wanted people to see that they don't always work out okay.

  • I wondered why you didn't have a video yesterday. I will go back to see what was shoved down. I guess that is why I asked the other day if you had loaded it ahead of time...it will show up as a video loaded at that day/time and if you have a bazillion subscriptions, people don't get to see if. I don't have a ton of subscriptions, but enough that the last few of yours I have had to dig through to find it!! Anyway, on to the video.

  • OHHHH those look yuum yumm!

I thought you'd do cream cheese.

J'aime la fromage a la creme!

  • I absolutely love cream cheese, it is good in almost any recipe.

    Thanks Dan.

  • C'est vrai!

  • awsome i luv u yoyo

  • Thanks!

    ((hugs))

  • Looks wonderful! Almost like a mini empanada.

  • They remind me of little jam turnovers, very tasty.

  • That looks like a pot sticker! I have had great luck with food shaped like that:-)

  • They do look like little pot stickers or little perogies, but sweet.

    they taste like little turnovers.

  • Those look delish!! Blessings, Ang

  • Thanks!

  • I love blueberry preserves or jam. They would be so good with that in the middle. The Kolaches looked yummy! Hugs!

  • I wanted to make some with a variety of flavours of jam, but I didn't want to open a bunch of jars and have them in the fridge.

Thanks Melissa, catching up on a week's worth of videos.

  • Tammy this would be a cookie for me. I love cookies with a surprise in the inside..

  • These cookies taste a little like turnovers, and are best right out of the oven.

  • here in texas that would be an empanada. Our kollaches have a yeast dough like a donut

  • I'd never even heard of a kollache before finding this website, so many goodies out there!

  • Tammy, those look so yummy!! I have some strawberry preserves in the fridge, and it's making me want to make some of these!! Thanks for sharing!

  • Daniel!! catching up on vids today. Can we expect a video from you soon? Miss you.
