As the club begins to build up speed and the left hip makes the first move down the target line before it turns backward, the width of the stance will hold up just fine. If you have a tendency to lose your balance, your stance might be to narrow. w w w (dot) golferbreak80 (dot) c0m
Yeah, I think so. It complicates things a bit that Rose has looked significantly different at different points in his career, but the swing here really looks like O'Hair's.
This video has given rise to the great "is it O'Hair or is it Rose" debate. Some evidence both ways. The others are pretty clear.
The vid is pretty interesting, though, isn't it? Watching them in quick succession, you start getting a feel for the very few things that are common to all--I don't mean specific positions, etc., but more big-picture principles (plane, path, releasing from the ground up, etc.).
Yeah-he's not my favourite player. But technically his swing is spot on. For a small guy he hits it to full potential. And more importantly he is very accurate with the irons.
Rory McIlory has to be my current favourite player-so natural and LONG. He is almost perfect-if he improves on his 8-15ft holing-he will be a challenge for Tiger.
Westwood is also very impressive.
Worst looking swing-definitely Jeev Milka Singh followed by Furyk. How those guys are so good-mystery. Singh looks like
doesnt matter how good you are technically, nobody will ever be able to challenge tiger consistently. i dont think anybody will ever be able to do what tiger is doing now again. even a guy getting 30 wins in their career i do not see in the future.
a beginner-the takeaway is for a HUGE SLICE. But he then drops it inside. And he is obviosuly very good. Just shows if you can get square at impact, anything goes. But a Donald technique is gonna help you achieve it.
I'm with you. There's a reason classic swings are classic.
As for J.M. Singh...man, are you ever not kidding. I'd heard how good the guy was for about two years before I finally saw him (maybe a couple of years ago?), and I nearly fell out of my chair. I guess you have to have serious talent to make a living with that swing. (Or something.) He must get it in the hole like a madman...
Ryan Moore, Justin Rose, Rich Beem, Fred Couples, Angel Cabrera, Stuart Appleby, No Clue, Trevor Immelman, Vijay Singh, Ross Fisher, Sergio Garcia, Luke Donald, Ernie Els, and some guy at the end. That's my best guess.
Funny you should say that. Actually, it's _accurate_ that you say that. Any top-quality teacher will tell you that the "swing slowly" thing is a complete myth, if you want to become a really good player. Rhythmic, yes; smooth in the transitions, yes (though not necessarily a pause); but slow? Nah.
They made a MUPPET of Tiger Woods on ---- Hilarious Muppet Bloopers, also Kobe & labron james. This commercial is flat hilarious ! While Kobe is challenging Tiger to the duel, Labron is getting very discouraged because of his troubles
Might have heard of him. Masters champ, coupla years ago.
It's absolutely unreal how much he looks like Hogan. Freeze it at the top of his backswing and look at Hogan in a similar DTL position. It's unbelievable.
At the risk of being, you know, a retard or something, take a look here--
watch?v=3AvypsMbGCc&feature=related
--and look how upright O'Hair is there throughout the backswing, compared to the disputed player here. As a checkpoint, look when the hands are about even (vertically) with the shoulders. The camera angle at the other vid (recommended by another poster) is a bit more closed, so you get a different look there. Having said that, there definitely are some strong similarities.
Also: What another poster said about Rose holding his finish is usually true, so that's fairly strong evidence against this being Rose. On the other hand, the finish doesn't look like a lot of O'Hair's finishes, either. I think it's Gene Sarazen.
I'll concede. Still doesn't look much like him in the face, and maybe the jacket is making him look a little less pencil-thin than usual, but the swing is pretty close. And it was three years ago, so he wouldn't necessarily look exactly like he does today.
its just i wanted to point it out so there is no more confusion.
im from watford where this was played and i worked at each of the days so i knew rose wasnt there. although if i watched this video without knowing, i would have definately thought it was rose
It might be the driver ernie is using the callaway ones do make a funny noise compared to all other brands but they are still awesome not shitting on them or anything
Is it me, or do you guys also hear the difference? The sound of Tiger hitting a drive is different, could be the place of which it was filmed from but having been to numerous of pro tournaments Ernie used to have the same.
If you notice, the camera isn't in the same spot, and this is possibly (probably?) a different tee. The proximity of trees or other structures to the tee box makes a huge difference in how the shot sounds. Having said that...well, yeah, his shots sound pretty damn good. Also Cabrera's and a couple of others. I'd also agree that Els has a distinctly lower-speed sound now; can't tell how much that has to do with the injury. I think he's had some nagging little swing problems for some time.
Its sean o hair second hes skinnier than rose and doesn't hold his finishng position. his head also drops slightly at impact rose doesn't do this nice vid btw
I hate David Howell's swing. He slides way too much which was a consistent fault of mine when I was younger. Brings back horrible memories of pulls and hooks.
#2 is definitely Justin Rose. Sean O'Hair's swing is much more upright, and he's skinnier than Rose. Just look up videos of the two and you'll see the difference.
The second guy is sean o'hair. Watch a video of justin rose's swing and there is a pretty big difference. Notice how upright sean gets in his back swing, while rose is more on plane.
I was trying to figure out what "raged comments" you were talking about.
_I_ think the second player is Justin, but other people here are sure it's Sean O'Hair. I really do like Rose's swing a _lot_; he's had a lot of trial-and-error since he turned pro so young, but I have a feeling he's really going to be a top-5 guy before too long. But you never know.
Ha...haven't ever been called a "merrymaker," but that can't be bad, can it?
I actually don't think _anybody_ is "a drunkard _like_ Daly." You gotta be some drunk to do that.
I really don't get his fan base. To me, he's outside the bounds of what a golfer ought to be. There's more to it han just hitting the ball and scoring low. It's a whole way of living and being, but I'm not sure fans who were new to golf with Daly--or with Tiger, for that matter--would understand that.

Hi to everyone who has commented on my video! Just to settle the argument once and for all on the list of players, here it is: Johan Edfors Sean O'Hair Stewart Cink Retief Goosen Angel Cabrera Stuart Appleby Henrik Stenson Trevor Immelman Vijay Singh David Howell Sergio Garcia Luke Donald Ernie Els x3 Tiger Woods And thats the official list!
Here is THE real list ! Johan EDFORS Justin ROSE and not Sean O'HAIR !!! Stewart Cink Retief GOOSEN Angel CABRERA Stuart APPLEBY Henrik STENSON Trevor IMMELMAN Vijay SINGH David HOWELL Sergio GARCIA Luke DONALD Ernie ELS ("the Big Easy") Tiger WOODS
idiots :S it's not robert karlsson after appleby, it's Henrik Stenson Johan Edfors Sean O'Hair Stewart Cink Ratief Goosen Angel Cabrera Stewart Appleby Henrik stenson - Vijay Singh David Howell Sergio Garcia Luke Donald Ernie Els x3 Tiger Woods
