No dudes - metal is not the genre for this axe - the PUs have nowhere near enough gain,and the feedback will destroy you. Everything squeals at high volume - the PU coils... the hollow body - it's unworkable. I tried playing loud R&R on a country gentleman- had to dip the pickups, stuff the body full of cotton and tape the F-holes. Not worth it. Get yerself an Ibanez 7-string solidbody and thrash away. Hollowbody guitars are a sweet change of pace - but not for metal.

Awesome Jason - a lot brighter and better defined than a Gibson-y archtop... but with enough bottom end so your bass/walking bass comes through. Plus it's Gretch - that's a kewl factor IMO
