  • Your enclosure is 1cuft total, right? Or does each sub have 1cuft each? It looks much too small to be the latter though, lol. I'm building a similar setup for my 1994 Honda Prelude. It's going between the rear seats (they're buckets with a center divider) because trunk space is prime real estate and nobody ever sits in the back. I'll be using six of these however.

  • @phantom240 Yes, 1cuft total, single common chamber.

  • where can you get a TB speaker?

  • That's great man I'm putting together a similar setup under the back seat of a k5 blazer. My little 6'' speakers are cheap but the amp is a fosgate

  • @Italynstylion Dude this is great,,, i was thinking of going from 12 to 8" because i dont think my car does justice for my sub.. but now that i saw this, maybe 6" isnt a bad idea too...

my 2 main concerns assuming i chose an ideal box are the 33-38hz bass extension and volume and the 60hz accuracy (for double kick,,, techno etc)

How are these areas on your setup?

  • yeah man i like that idea, how does it sound up front? could you mistake them for a pair of SQ 10"s?

  • @fakeusa

Absolutely. They were very very nice sounding and packed quite a punch.

  • I modeled a bunch of subs before landing on these. 13mm of Xmax is :)

And they'll handle MUCH more than they're rated for in a properly designed enclosure. I did look at the TangBand 8" sub too. I just thought it would be way more fun to run 6.5's and pop the trunk to see people's jaw drop.

Sometimes you do things because they're optimal. And sometimes you do things to prove it can be done.

  • @0000Jillsandwich0000

The Beyma has an FS in the upper 65hz range, not even close to being what you'd want for subwoofer duty.

Plus, at a third of the cost they're certainly worth the money. The Tang Band subs are no joke. Just because it's not a known brand doesn't mean it's not a solid performer. I'm not familiar with the Volt subs you mentioned. Do you have a link?

  • Very nice! Looks good man. How do they sound?

  • need bigger subs

  • good shit i like the design its a great idea

  • what a shit song though...play something gangster. This is terrible!

  • @MastodonDR theres other videos with different typres of music...

  • Is that a custom box? like it alot

  • i think that sounds nice but it would be better with a port.. nice speakers tho ive got some

  • i really like this

  • it would be funny if a guy came up to u and said "dayyumm that shit bang what u got thurr" and u "just 4 6.5" tangs bands"

  • Liked that! Really clean sound and can still put some bags to travel!

  • Thats fucking aswsome bro, well impressed. Thumbs up for jeezy!!!

  • i got this e320 with the "active bass system" all that means is it came with some crappy 6.5" subs in the doors, if you can even call them subs, i was looking to replace them with some real 6.5" subs, i think i will have to try these tang band's out, NICE on the setup, i love it!

  • have u ever seen the 8x12 i wana know how the sound

  • Im not saying there bad subs, they really arnt, i own two of their 8s. If you like loud bass these work, but if you like really loud bass, these cant do it. My two 8s can hit around 120 but two re 8s can hit somewhere around 125-130. (Both brands max peak with distortion) But with solid non distorted bass the res can hit like 120 or so and the tbs can hit somewhere around 110

  • @SubMasterT I dont where your basing any of that information off of. If your talking about that SPL meter you got, I doubt its really very accurate. Only way to go is Term Lab which I doubt you could afford since they cost about $700.

You can make a SINGLE 8 inch TB hit over 130db if you have the right box for it. You can pretty much do that with any subwoofer if you want pure SPL.

  • oh and for the spl part, im going off of a spl meter from radio shack but im talking about just two of the tbs or two of the res or whatever in a 1.5ish vented box. But yeah i know, like if you have a nice bandpass box you can probably make a tb 8 hit over 130. I know what im talking about, ive been doing this since 02. I have alot of experience. Ive owned 14 different subs. 4 of them tb too. And ive heard at least 9 different brands.

  • @SubMasterT Well Iv been doing this since 98. Iv owned over a hundred different subwoofers and thousands of speakers. And roughly 20 or so different amplifiers and recievers.

  • (2)Sony Xplod old Round cone 12" (4)Sony Xplod P5s 12" (2)JD Audio 12" (1)LA 10" (2)Polk Audio 10" (1)PA Fubar 12" (2)Boss Blade 12" (2)Boss Chaos 12" (2)Boss Riot 12" (2)Orion XT (dont remember the exact model) 10" (1)Punch P1 10" (1)MTX 4500 12" (1)Pioneer 3000SPL (1)Fi BL 15" (2)Insignia 12"
  • @320bit lol nice, i remember the boss blades, those had some crazy throw, also, i know someone with a jd audio 12, yellow surround rite?

  • @SubMasterT Those are all the ones I can think of off the top of my head that Iv owned in the past.

    Thats not including home audio/PC

  • ok yeah........ i never said you didnt have more experience than me. And no my amps fine, its a 800watt amp, and i even have a second one that im not using and when i hook that up it does the same thing. The subs didnt do that when i got them but they did that after a couple months so i bet ive just been over powering them and its just slowly damaging them.

  • @SubMasterT Yeah dude i looked at parts express your completely overpowering them might want to turn down the gain or something so you don't blow them

  • @acuraRule12355 yeah i know but i dont care if i blow them, i got one new but i got the other for 30 bucks refurbished. And plus you can replace them for 20 bucks if you search ebay for logitech z-2300 then they have replacement subs, same sub, they just have the logitech logo on it. Soo much cheaper that way. But im getting t hiphonic 12s to join my jl w3v2 12. So i really dont need my 8s when i have my jl. You can bearly hear the diffrence when i turn on my 8s cuz of how loud the jl is.

  • sweet im thinking about upgrading my system to im thinking a 6.5 that i already have and 2 8s

  • @SubMasterT btw, Im not sure what you mean by distortion. Your probably clipping them to try and get them louder. Either way, distortion doesnt make the subwoofer louder by any means. Especially not 15-20db.

  • Well when you over power tbs they distorted pretty quickly but their spl still goes up pretty high. And its not going up or down by 15-20db its more like 5-10 db

  • @SubMasterT Then your clipping your amplifier. Iv pushed my 5 1/4 inch TB to its limits and it still sounded great.

  • submastert, you truely are a dumbass. if you think 4- 6.5s have the same output of a single 8 you are fucking retarded. these subs have an impressive xmax of 13mm

  • nice

  • 300W of bass... cool, same power of my micro system (yes, I know my 300W are divided to the tweters too).

Nice setup... didn't lose the trunk space.

  • thats epic man.

  • thats actually a great idea. like the setup. added bass with all the space.

  • how much bass does that put out? looks bass for house speakers lol

  • You're pretty dumb aren't you?

  • eh not really, im smarter than most people but not my much. And just to let you know i was replying to a guy who said these look like computer speakers because with Logitech subs, the sub itself is made by tang band but they suck anyway so this system, eh, all i can say about this is it save on trunk room. Thats just about the only good thing about this setup.

  • @SubMasterT Tang Bands kick anus.

I bet alot of people that hear this system are surprised when they find out whats NOT in the trunk.

Most TB 6.5 subs will put 10s to shame.

  • well i have to give them credit, they look really nice with the high roll surround and yeah there decent, but their kinda expensive and theres alot nicer subs for that price, but they do have nice quality though, but they just don't go up that loud. Everythings great about them, except for the spl.

  • @SubMasterT Expensive? Where are you shopping? You can get these for like $60 a pop. You wont even find a 10, 12, 15 inch subwoofer for that price that will be better.

Obviously youv never heard one in person if you dont think they dont get loud.

  • Ebay, for the average 8 its like a 130 but also, there loud for starter subs, but im used to spl brands like JL Audio, RE Audio, Fi Audio, and Rockford Fausgate Power Series. And you can get a nice RE 8 for 50-60 bucks and its at least 50% louder and the quality is better too. But i dont know anything about TBs 6.5s. But their 8s-12s... eh, nice excursion but you can find stuff better though.

  • @SubMasterT We aint talking about their 8s. And Iv never seen a TB 12. Iv actually never seen a TB 8 either.

But anyway. All those brands you listed off, those arnt "SPL" brands at all. The RF power series is, but JL, Fi, and RFs other lines are mostaly all geared towards SQ or SQL. Aside from the Fi BTLs which are geared for SPL competition.

  • @320bit Yeah there are TBs In bigger sizes then this parts express somebody told me and there pretty good

  • if you threw a couple cheap tweeters back there, you have a mobile boombox! thats mostly what my subs are for, a big boombox for when i play tennis. i back the truck up, open my doors and pop the tanue (sp.) cover. woot instant party!

  • torno

  • nice set up. soon within a month or so, ill be putting a wall of 8 of these in my truck.

  • I´v been looking for 6´5" subs but bought the next best thing. 3 RockFord 6´5" coaxials where you can choos to not conekt the tweeters. And i bought filters that cuts at around 100 hz.I buildt a vented box at 4 Liters. Not bad but whant more base out of them.... How have u done it?

  • Nice setup! thats what I need for my car, more bang than the stock system, while still being able to use my trunk.

  • Hell yeah! rollin down da block wit 4 6's in da trunk

  • lol you've got a point lmao

  • Thats Pimp

  • go FUCK yourself. ass. (mind your own god damn business)

  • what a waste using that nice setup on garbage "music"

  • My cousin has some exspensive huge ones

and they vibrate her car some much at like

volume 10 when shes driving it will stop her

    car

  • I'm totally impressed, HaloHamstur.

  • She must drive a Honda Civic. LoL!

  • you need to port it, and yeah more power. use 4 4'' ports if you can, i have one that is sealed and the bass isnt that good, but its really nice when its ported. thats just how there made. nice setup though

  • He could just put an LT on it..??

  • whatever the hell that is go for it...

  • He'll need a lot more power for an LT. LT isn't needed in a car, anyway. ;)

  • You honestly think a 6.5" driver with 11 mm of xmax needs a 4" port? You're insane. He doesn't need any more power either.

  • I have twice the power on the same quad - just enough. Sealed sounds fine if you actually want subsonic bass.

  • you need more powa

  • is this on the parts express diy project page? i thind ive seen it.
