@professionalblogger Thanks for watching! It actually comes with some basic software from Logitech that allows you to capture video and pictures. That's all I used.

This will be way better than my Kodak ZI6... COMPLETE TRASH. Thing broke after a year, with NO DAMAGE! Started to always FREEZE, and then one day, just wouldn't turn on.

@jgq85 For free very basic editing, I would recommend checking out VideoPad (nchsoftware) or VLMC (videolan). Google either one to get the download.
For a step up from that, I would recommend Adobe Premiere Elements. Costs $99 and does what most people will need. They even offer a trial so you can see if you like it before you buy it (it will leave a watermark on the final video until you purchase it though)
@Joshhasfreetime i would like to know the same as well,. i have a 1.6ghz netbook overclocked to 2.1ghz and would like to know if it would be decent or not. i have a DSL connection with 1mbit upload so will that be enough to have skype on "high quality"? right now i cannot get more than "medium" and i dont understand whether is the computer (so its defauly webcam) or my upload in effect... thanks!

@joycook123 Check the website for system requirements, but unless you have a really old computer, which you don't then you should be fine. As for what webcam to get, it all depends on the quality of audio and video you want. This one has decent video and audio quality, but you can spend a lot more and get better video and audio, so it depends on the overall quality you want and how much you want to spend.

@sherriismiling09 C310 is definitely a better webcam. I would pay the extra for it, which isn't much. Just a few things that are better is: higher mega pixel sensor, 720p HD, rightsound, newer version of rightlight. It depends on if you need those features though. Logitech makes very nice webcams, so you won't be disappointed either way, just make sure you know what features you need and buy accordingly. I'd go with the C310 though and like is said, it's not that much more expensive.

Can you please sit in a dim room and try raising the "Gain" level (without using rightlight and disabling auto) and see if you get blue horizontal lines, especially when you move up and down?
My cam does that, and I would like to know if it is normal before I return it.
I have been reading reviews about this camera and im sure this is the right one for me. I want to use it mainly for skyping and chatting with friends and I just want to know if I can choose what resolution to show. ie. (480 p, 720p) I have a feeling my computer will be slow if I chat in 720p so can I change it to 480/ 360 as well?
@MudxMan123 When you are recording using the webcam, you can select the quality. I think it depends on the chat program though. For example, Skype does not have a setting to choose the quality, but it automatically adjusts it based on system resources and internet speed.
@0TheSeeker Yes it does. Just use the software that comes with it, or chose from a variety of others, to record in quality up to 720p (HD and widescreen). Once you've done the recording, simply upload it to YouTube and it will be in widescreen. No need to modify it.
@conscustoms1 What do you mean? You don't have to do anything special to upload in HD. Just upload the 720p video and it will me in HD on YouTube. Rephrase your question if that didn't answer you question.
Hello- really good review- i just bought this 2 hours ago, just reading instructions(i know, it simple) but i have a question for you- i have a DSL modem, and i was wondering if because this webcam is HD 720p, will it lag while im using Skype talking to my friend in Japan? mabe b/c of the HD, more info to process/travel due to high resolution? thanks alot and again very good review (and good video quality)!
@rickydaniele HD video does take more bandwidth to put through, but honestly I'm not sure if Skype will try to push the full quality through, or if it just sends it at less than 720P. I imagine it just sends it at a lower quality...but don't quote me on that one.
