Martial Arts Odyssey: Introduction to Kuntaw

hello good day ..im from cebu city.. we have a club here at cebu at university of the visayas main campus school... kuntaw karate club.. focus on karate for the school tournament... our instructor died last 2008... you are welcome to visit here...

when I was in High school in central mindanao, way back 1986 , kuntaw exercises will be performed every morning after the flag ceremony, but we don't know how it is being applied as a, martial arts, unless you will do special classes. Due to lack of funding from the government for the Department of education it was stop. But few years ago, they chose taekwondo to be taught in public schools. O my God what happen to Philippine Government?

thanks for commenting, this was hat master frank was angry about. but good news, this year, mostly because of grand master frank, filipino martial art will be the official martial art in schools in philippines.

good video. thank you. kuntaw is a secret art. very very hard to find a good instructor. american version kuntaw is watered down. kuntaw is (filipino-kun fu) learned in secret by clans to learn and defend against foriegn invaders. kuntaw is not a sport. it's a deadly art meant to kill.

It should stay in their respective family personally I won't teach it to strangers it stayed in our family from ages those who learned it from their father should transmit their art to the heirs of their family what do you think ?

i would agree with you for the most part. i just don't want to see kuntaw being ought like a sport and for profit. in my opinion it should stay pure and secret. you will never see this art used in mma effectively although it would be nice to see someone break a persons fist (jab) with an elbow block. lol, i think all fma should be kept secret and for the special forces. my 2cents

Sorry I saw in your profile and I saw that you are Filippino so I think it would be okay but first I'm only 19 I didn't master every thing because I'm a student and I live in a foreign country so I can't really help you and if you talk to my family I'm sure they won't accept you so sorry but I like your way of thinking and you know if you want a good school you should go to Cebu.
