  • :-)

  • You want to lift your legs for the best crunch workout. Also, you need to breathe out when coming up rather than the opposite way.

For more info about the crunch workout, check out: youtube.com/watch?v=2pCjxbRbjVk

  • First comment in 3 months, bitches.

  • @drumline17 second comment in 3 months, bitch. So?

  • @navylord17 So I win. HAHAHAHAHAHA

  • @drumline17 OH GOD IM COMMUNICATING WITH SOME SORT OF 4 YEAR OLD I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN GOODBYE,

  • @navylord17 I win

  • um, ok, this really isn't anything new...maybe I need some kind of ab machine, this is boring.

  • so fucking original.... try doin "L chin-ups" or running is the best way of getting abs ppl...drop ur BFP to single figures...so annoying that they dont tell ppl the right proper shit to do

  • @cillianp91 wat about the obliques? u aint gonna get obliques just from running

  • @Losloslos12 right

  • can u please help me

my sternocleidomastoid muscles (muscles of neck) they get fatigued when i do crunches...

am i doing it the right way ? is this normal or am i stressing my neck ?

  • i broke my dam back trying to do this shit man i should come beat ur ass mother fucker

  • @babeboyp lol 4 rael?

  • @fr3shions yea man lol

  • i get abs but then i loose them bcuz i eat lol..i need to find a good diet :/

  • this is too easy

  • @mindfreak13

u better drink milk and go to bed.

  • Inhale as you come up? You should inhale as you go down...exhale as you come up...don't you think?

  • what should i be eating to loose fat or w/e i need to get nice abs? I'm already skinny and i weight like 130lbs

  • @helloadios12 yeah weight around there too

  • no this work for abs too u dickhead

  • @mindfreak100000 ur 13 what the fuck do u know

  • @mindfreak100000

    u dumb barely teenager

when u burn fat then u will be able to see ur abs

    one more thing

what u call ur "6 packs" are probably ur skinny bones with 4 inch arms and 3 inch chest muscles sorry fats and bones

  • @shahzains

    lol quality

  • @gilesdrew1 what quality??

  • @shahzains Yea, that's the problem I weighed 130 when I was 13 and I did a lot of cardio and burn fats then i just got skinnier you people should just tell people to do crunches

  • @mindfreak100000 your an idiot your not just supposed to do this your supposed to mix in other ab exercises or else it will just build ab lines for example you do abdominal crunches it will only build a certain portion of your abs

  • if ur slim does tht make u easier getting six packs?....i'm 50kg and 175cm...

  • @adamummar yes my bro is skinny as shit and he has 6 pack abs and he doesnt ever work out his normal activities burn it for him

  • Crunches alone wont give you 6-pack abs...it's mostly achieved by diet...spot reduction is a myth.

Of course you'll have less definition if you don't do crunches at all, but it all comes back to fat loss, which is maintaining a caloric deficit through your diet.

  • agreed, that's why they say abs are made in the kitchen not in the gym

  • or to expand on that, abs are made by not spending all day in the kitchen

  • @crazyassblinddude

i think abs can be made while ur in bed sleeping

because sleeping also burns calories (not that much but it does)

  • it will give you super hard abs but you just need to run or jog or some kind of cardio to remove the extra fat

  • @icvaughan yeah i always run 40 min at 5.5-6.0 mp/h and i burn 400 cals

well thas wat da tread mill says

  • thank you

  • well then u must of been really fit before haha

  • That's probably cause you don't eat like an obese american xD

  • This wrked i've got abs yay!!!!!!!!

  • push up do help well ur are pushing up it putting tenstion on ur high and low abs

  • do push ups help?

  • How long does it take for your ABS TO SHOW?

  • takes about 3 to 5 months, but is also depends what you eat

  • thank you very much this is great

  • Whats better for Abs Crunches or Sit ups?

  • crunches, crunches isolate the abs and work them specifically, sit ups work your entire upper body, but only a little bit.

  • Comment removed

  • @TorontoWildLifeDocs it does, specifically if you do them correctly. i'm tired of people and commercials saying they don't work.

  • that's not true, crunches are easier and only work upper abs, sit ups are harder and give you more. doing both generally works too

  • No it isn't. When you crunch you lift your body up by flexing your stomach, using your stomach and only your stomach. It is next to impossible to do a full sit up by just lifting yourself up by just flexing your abs.

  • well then i guess you don't have strong abs then, because i would call you an ab cheater for using your body instead of your abs during a sit-up. haha nobody likes a cheater jimmy. jkjk...but seriously

  • sorry at 23 sec

  • freeze it at 25 sec ihis face looks funny

  • WARNING: Remember to get low fat % or you wont get to see your "rock hard" abs after months of work...

Now you may proceed with your abs training :P

  • u retard. if u tilt ur pelvis upward, it will cause you to lay flat on ur back. its almost like your pushing your butt out when u do it. it should be level with the ground.

  • Hey, I don't get it, if you tilt your pelvis upwards, your back is going to arch upwards - which he says is bad.

Your back gets flat when you tilt the pelvis down, surely?

  • hmm...i cant get the six pack, only 4 for some reason..is there something different i have to do for the lower 2?

  • I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM

  • abs is structured so that there is cross-cutting "ties" that splits the-abs in different sections. The number of sections can not be affected but it is genetically predetermined.

It has either 3 or 4 transverse bands where the lower sometimes barely visible. sections are of different length and lower them significantly longer Ann upper sections and hence are more difficult to get them more pumped up and visible.

  • yeah there is just search how to get lower abs in the search thingy

  • hmmm...starve yourself?

  • thanks buddy...today was my first day on the gym...im gonna use ur experince tomorrow...thank uu

  • hye must i bring my pelvis a bit higher? i dont get it!

  • ty man im a swimmer but i need abdominal exercises a lot thanks man

  • if you don't like the video, then don't bitch about it. no one here wants to here you bitch & bitch & bitch & bitch. just shut the fuck up. he's trying to help anybody working out. im trying to lose weight & this might come in handy so please, just shut you're fuckin' trap. bitch.

  • This is not Crunch Time for Jeff Worthy!

  • This video has a bad mistake. Upper and lower abs doesnt exist its a myth. There is only one long muscle with different layers. For those that say they take 100 reps a day they are wasting their time. Taking 100 reps a day is over training. You dont take 100 reps bench press do you? If you can take 100 reps youre proberly doing something wrong and thats proberly also why you dont see your six pack. Also, you dont burn fat on your stomach with abs exercises, run, row and bikecycle to do that.

  • how the hell do i keep my pelvis up it is hard

  • Thanks man, I need to look fit for the beach!!

  • lmao ha sorry batman

  • ah! the pelvis must be up. so that's been my mistake....

i shall go get my results now

  • When r doing ab exercises are u supposed to do them everyday?

  • i think so, weight lifting should be done 3 days out of the week i think, on nonconsecutive days. and don't run, jog. running puts too much strain on your bones and joints. as for ab workouts, i think they're ok for every day

  • chupame el culo con esa mierda de ejercicio aver quien coño lo hace tan lento... es de retrasao !

  • I want to get in shape but I'm worried I'll feel the need to wear skin tight shirts

  • lol i'm going to wear baggy stuff cause it's comfortable, i just want to get healthy

and look nice at the beach :D

  • 15....50...man..

  • Little advice to the video:

Get your heels in the ground and the toes towards the ceiling, to disable the hip flexor and have more results on your abs.

  • thats true why run on tread mil so boring instead play basket ball or swimming

  • you inhale for the easy part of the excersize and exhale for the hard part.....but i have watched the video yet so i dunno if he mixed it up lol

  • yeah i was wondering the same thing, i usually inhale while i go down and exhale while going up..

  • yea basketball is probably the best for cardio because your always on the move for about 5-6 minutes.. I should no I used to play..unless your a bench warmer lol

  • yeah thats true

  • swimming is supposed to be good

  • that's because you have to use all of your muscles, sports are always better than just regular exercises because

    1 they're more fun

2 they use more muscles at once and burn more fat and calories and other crap

  • Alright well i guess i got to start b balling a bit lol

  • is skateboarding a good cardio???

  • does this work? pointing your "pelvis" upwards?

  • Yes, it does work.

  • What is the problem? I have lost inches off of my waist, my stomach is smaller than it has ever been, yet the muscle definition does not come. I do exercises until my stomach is as tight and sore but still not what I am looking for. Should I be taking some type of supplement for a different result?

  • u probably still have some fat layer, should do some cardio.

  • Truly its more about diet than anything. Plus cardio.

  • yo can someone help me cause when i try this i feel a little burn on my abs but i think im using more neck/back than abs any tips or any other excerise that could work my upper abs?

  • how old are you xtrangle? we seem built similar

  • hey, are you referring to me? I guess so since there isn't someone who commented... you should use the reply comment next time so I get the msg sooner. I'm 25 now u? I've been changing my workouts now to focus on other area's and it has helped a little.

  • lol im 13. some of this ab stuff worked out pretty good for me. At the start of the summer I was 5"3 and weight 131 lbs. Now its almost over and i am 5"5 and 118, but I dont feel any skinnier. Mabey its just cause of the big lapse of time. Although my arms are now about 1 foot and 2 inches around, and You can start to see a slight six pac forming under a little amount giggly fat lol.

  • Anyone can tell me how to increase my strength and grow my size. I want them to be proportioned. Not exactly like the hulk here but more like a Vegeta From drgaonball. I'm 5'5 and currently weigh 125lbs but i can't seem to increase my strength or size anymore with my workouts. Am I just not pushing hard enough?

  • you just have to switch your workouts your muscles tend to get use to the same routine or maybe add more weight.

  • yeah. I've been changing up my routine lately. I think my major mucle groups are not able to increase anymore due to the restriction of the smaller muscle groups not growing in proportion. Would you agree?

  • for size. i just wanna let you kno. ur abs cant get bigger.

  • oh really? Well I know there's a ton of extra down there that i've gotten rid of but I can't seem to get the really well defined abs others have...could it be genetics?

  • Working your abs makes them more cut and lean. u always wanna switch up ur ab workouts. ab workouts are 25% ab work and 75% cardio. the more cardio the more ur stomache sizes down around ur abs. it cant be genetics. work them atleast 4 times a week. do 15 minutes of jogging. and 5 minutes of power walking after ur ab workouts.

  • I changed my ab workout around 2 months ago and I can see way more defenition. It is good to change your ab workout to see what best works for you. Keep on researching and you will find what ab exercises will suit your goal. Cardio, weightlifting, and a healthy meal plan will work the best. I am 39 years old and have a 33 inch waist but it has taken consistency to get where I am at today. You have to stick to it to see results. If you begin and quit and begin and quit you will never see results.

  • yeah I agree. I guess you just have to keep changing things around to keep the muslces from peaking out or plateauing. Another thing is Following through and eating a proper meal plan. I'm glad to hear at your age, great things can still be acheived with the body. Thanks for your support!

  • Believe it or not! I know this man that is 70 years old and is in extraordinary shape. He is strong and looks like he is 50 years old. It is amazing what the human body is able to accomplish when it is in great healthy condition.

  • a crunch = waste of time for 99% of people

  • It is, Crunch is to keep or develope the abs rater than removing the fat.

  • Guys! This is shit, type "8 minute abs" and do that thing if u want awesome abs cuz that shit shit works.

  • dude. I caught a cramp in my gut >:D this is great stuff!!!!!

  • lmfao xD funny.

  • coolness thnx for that vid

  • At first of all I want to say: Thanks!

I have been training for 4days the technique of the abdominal crunch and have just realized by watching this great movie that I have to lift my hip a bit. Thanks!

    @bunniesandflower

In the beginning it is normal that your neck hurts. This is because your neck muscles aren't trained well yet. Go on with the training and it will get better.

But watch out! Maybe you are carrying out the crunch wrongly.

  • is there something wrong if my neck is killing me while im doing it??

  • yes, it happens to most people. the way to thwart that is to focus ALL of your energy into your abs. meaning try and lift yourself ENTIREly with your abs, not your neck. feel that buurrrnnnn.

  • can I combine this with Bicycle Crunch ?

    thx for any reply

  • any combo of ab work out is only going to help. so yes.

  • u need a better microphone...

  • wow! such a stupid video...is that all u can show?! thats nonsense...

  • cool ima do like 100 of these a day you think ill get a 6 back pretty soon by doing these?

  • 1) There is no reason to tilt your pelvis forward to close the cap of the lumbar spine. Doing so only shortens your potential for a greater ROM. In fact, putting a towel tightly rolled over a broom stick under your lumbar spine will drastically increase the distance between the ribs and pelvis, creating a tremendous improvement in ROM and results from the exercise.

  • 2) You can put your hands anywhere you want. The further away they are from the midsection, the more "torque" resistance you'll have.

    3) You dont need to go that slow. Observing the law of specifity, there simply is no movement in everyday life or in sports where the abdominus rectus needs to move excessively slow under tension.

    4) Prescribed number of reps should reflect training goals, not outdated dogma.

  • Sorry, but he's right on closing the lumbar spine. This gives you better isolation of the ab muscles and less energy is distributed elsewhere when raising up. As for going slow, this trains the abdominal muscles to hold tight even when you are not exercising. But I agree with you about the hands. Its a matter of preference.

  • Ok, if tilting your pelvis to close the lumbar spine "stops energy from being distributed elsewhere" - where is it distributed then? What other parts move in a regular floor crunch move besides an adduction between the ribs and pelvis? Tilting your pelvis up encourages the use of other muscles like the gluts. Also, how is it possible to NOT "isolate" your abs? Its difficult to think of any ab movements that require any other muscles other than the abs to any significant degree.

  • The abdominals can already hold tight when you're not exercising. This is called muscle tone, and there is no such thing as a "toning" exercise, since EVERY exercise will increase the amount of activity in a muscle at any given time. In fact "toning" exercises are a marketing term made up by the fitness industry to convince middle aged women that they didn't have to work hard or lift anything heavy to achieve their goals. Lift this pencil 500 times and you'll "tone" your biceps. Riiiiight.

  • The abs are meant to stabilize, or to be the link between upper and lower body in any sport or activity. Now think of how many sports there are. Can you think of ANY AT ALL in which the abs need to move in a slow and controlled fashion? High diving, pole volting, powerlifting, golf, frisbee, baseball, football, soccer... there's very few movements in LIFE that require slow abs. Even bodybuilders will benefit more from fast and powerful ab reps than slow ones.

  • Yeah, well I can think of one abdominal exercise that involves a slow and continuous movement: The one you do when you're sucking in that fat belly during a public occasion. Maybe a woman can get away with several quick aerobic motions, but believe me..., a man cannot.

  • Umm, as far as the toning of the abs..., one slow movement on ANY muscle puts alot more positive stress onto a muscle than 500 times on such a thing as lifting a pencil. And I'm sorry lady, but ...,I can't put it any less bluntly: You DO have to exercise in order to achieve "what is called" muscle tone, otherwise there would be no need for ab exercises at all! Including the half-assed ab exercises you believe in that only yield about 50% of the desired training of the proper muscles.

  • The action of the gluts in that circumstance is benign - it causes no pain, stress, or fatigue. On the other hand, leaving your lumbar spine arched causes a chain reaction that starts with your neck and shoulders, and then your chest. If you just pay attention to what is happening, then you will feel it. This sequence then moves into the abdominals, but not before you've wasted 50% of the exercise on the other muscles. So if you want to get half of your effort's worth, then arc your back.

  • Dude, crunches are the easiest and give you good results.. Thanks for this video I always use to put my hands behind my head and it was painful. It also wrecks your back.

  • y is dis videoo sooo slow?

  • i know... long to load!

  • Thanks a lot! Very helpful!

  • Very helpful, simple video. Thanks -- I usually end up pushing myself by either improper method of exercise or doing too much of it.

  • no such thing as too much... only problem with that really is the pain that comes afterwards but personally i like it and u benefit from it

  • "no such thing as too much" ? So you're saying its impossible to overtrain?

  • wow this is very good i always thought like your whole chest was supposed to be elevated thanks
