my dad used to have a 1968 ford mustang 289 v8 he liked to spin the tires on it & he sold it were gonna get a 1966 ford mustang its red. has a gas cap like yours. white pony interior.

Not necessarily at all. Many Mustangs have GT rear valances which are a commonly available reproduction part, as are the GT trumpet exhaust tips. To find out if it's a true GT, one can check the diameter of the swar bar or the part number on the steering box (quick ratio).
