We elongate vowels to far, or make our consonants too hard. We just can't seem to get it right. Honestly, I think the only reason I know this is because of the exchange students at my school who have taught me, personally. Also, I'm delighted you haven't adopted the slightly evil 'SH' for S habit, which has no reason or rhyme short of pissed Liza Minelli impersonation (as in... something I heard yesterday featuring it's haphazard English language assault... "shhraight past Sainsburys"... the supermarket unaffected, yet the 'straight' as bent as a nine bob note.

This girl is soo right. I dunno why you Americans think we are all tea drinkers and speak like the queen or we're poor with strong cockney accents, hell no! You're wrong completely. And don't listen to expert village because they will have u speaking like idiots trust me. And this girl is not posh at all and yes Americans, you DO have an accent but u don't think u do cos you're used to your own voices
