  • I like your monitor! Seriously, it just looks cool, with the black stripe at the top! When I build a new computer (if I do), it *might* be beige.

    Nice video!

  • i have windows 7 on mine runs smoother than any windows ive seen (on that computer)

  • Hi, I just put W7 on the Optiplex 280.

I got the pc for free, since it is so old (pentium 4 3ghz and 1 Gb pc3200 ram).

It runs surprisingly well.. Not sure what to do with this pc though :-P

since it's the SFF edition, the PSU is quite limited.. also the gfx card is not very good, some intel passive card..

  • @olavxxx give it to me

  • @KeyBcodeR some quick questions im thinking of gettin a dell optiplex gx280 because i just want a simple computer for now and i wanted to ask can i download windows 7 ultimate on that because alot of ppl say u cant but im not suree if there right and say if i download dell optiplex gx270 drivers for sound will it work with dell optiplex gx280 plz respond asap i need to kno thank u

  • @BrownSniper you can. also the Dell Optiplex GX2 series are good computers-my school has them.

  • i have intel dual core E2100 processor

    hd: 250gb sata

    ram :1gb ddr2

    gui:geforce 9400gt 1gb can windows 7 run smoothly??

  • HELL YEAH!!!

  • can i run the latest games including this configuration??

  • @MultiDarkprince Well... no!

  • @MultiDarkprince

    Totally!!

  • Are you still able to download the windows 7

  • this video is just only the download version not the full version. so its just sample of Windows 7..

    is that right, boya?

  • this is proof that windows 7 can run on an old computer. very impressive Microsoft.

  • Ich wartete auf Aero, nichts passiert. Du hast gut angefangen, schlecht beendet.

  • Yes but it will be very very slow.

  • that lloks like a tube screen

  • You can`t buy it. You have to burn it to a disk as a iso file.

    Also the basic requirements are:

    1GB of ram required

10GB or more of hdd space avalible

Also you can boot from hardrive but it will load extremtly slow as usb is slower compared to the way the hard drive in your pc is connected.

  • Vidéo naze, voir des reboot en permanence, aucun interet...

  • yes u can boot from the harddrive i did

  • does auero work?

  • wth is auero?? dont u mean aero?

  • Nice.!!!!

  • CRT have the best colour anyway. pity the HDTV cant be CRT hehe

  • STFU, noob!

  • i have no problem with the moniter and stuff cuz i use to have it. :)

  • you need to find the drivers idiot

  • i installed windows 7 and could not get my network card to work so i went back to vista 64

  • wow... where's the start menu logo? supposed to be in the center right?

  • no...where did hear about the start menu logo in center.....? it will always be in the bottom left corner. watever u seen/heard about is probably a user designed concept of windows 7.

  • good

  • Very Nice =) did you use the 64 Bit or 32 Bit?

  • 32 but I've been having 7 for a little while now. I just need the Keys MSFT will be providing today. Stay tuned guys on Windows 7 Website. Peace!

  • Go to Lifehacker. They got a link. Also watch Windows 7 website for the product keys the will be providing. Peace!

  • QUESTION!: Did you do a custom install or upgrade install?

  • I used a 100GB ATA just for 7 only. I formatted the drive and installed a fresh installation.

  • Ok, so I have a Toshiba Vista Home Basic SP1, 1GB RAM, Intel Core Duo, 1.86 Ghz.. should I install a custom or upgrade?

  • Well, you can do an upgrade or clean install but if you want to keep the stuff you already have I recommend you to Upgrade, otherwise a Clean Install would be a little better.

  • One more question, I don't think I have DVD Burner (I have Toshiba DVD Factory but it does not burn data) so, can I copy the data on an USB to install the beta?

  • okay

  • I got mine to install alright, but how do you get a product key? I need one badly.

  • Tomorrow Microsoft is launching Windows 7 Beta to the Public. Make sure you go to their Website. They will provide products keys and a download link. Thanks for comment. Don't forget to rate and subscribe too.

  • Thanks, KeyBcodeR. 5/5 and I subscribed. =D

  • hm I want to ask if this is final graphic design of windows 7. I mean if it would change during the rest developing.

  • They might change they might not. Everybody knows how Microsoft is. Remember, this is Beta, so anything can happen. I really hope they change something on the UI because look a lot like Vista and i really hate Vista.

  • This version it's slightly faster so far and support a lot of drivers. So far so good. I will post a video about the OS and some changes they made. Peace!

  • how about drivers?

  • Windows 7 Recognized my hardware automatically. Monitor, Onboard Video, Onboard Network, Chipset. The only driver i had to installed was the Wireless N Belkin Antenna. Onboard SoundMAX Audio driver via Windows Update. Everything else is working Flawless. I also got 1GB RAM PC2100 and a 4GB USB Drive dedicated to ReadyBoost only and it's REALLY FAST. No Aero though but i'm gonna get a nVidia 256MB AGP4X Video card to improve the video capabilites.

  • Actually, if you have a PC from a company such as HP, Dell, Toshiba, etc, there is a website fot your product where you can download all your drivers. Get the Vista version of the driver and it will work.

  • Yeah, i keep my drivers in my storage so i don't have to download it again. Windows 7 recognize a lot of drivers anyway. Thanks. If you like my videos, subscribe to my channel. A lot of good stuff and more coming.

  • And a Creative Sound Card too because the sound skips when i'm using Windows Media Center. It skips too on .AVI, .MPEG movies without a Video Card. Little bit of Video Playback Issues but with a Video card it will go away and i will be able to run Full Aero.

  • Plus i'm using ReadyBoost with a Sandisk 4GB USB Drive. It Boost my PC a LOT!!! No Aero cause the video card but everything else is working PERFECT!

  • Yeah, it's my old Dell. GX260, P4 2.4GHZ, 1GBRAM, Onboard Audio, Video & Networking. I tried Vista on the same PC and i could not install it at all. Windows 7 came out pretty solid. Highly recommended.

  • That looks like a fairly old PC. Does 7 run reasonably well on old hardware?
