My cat Junebug would have that sable put in its place. She's a tiny cat, but she's heavy because she is total muscle, and the fastest by a good bit in our family of four cats. As for jumping on their backs, my ferret does that too, as well as our one cat HoneyCake. Except unlike this sable, Honey actually bites and holds the other cats to the ground. She can't get a hold on Junie though lol
Are you all crazy, those noises DON"T come from playing. Its a Sable the thing is more wild than a raccoon and they are nasty. It wants to eat your cat ! Cat wants no part of it....
@MUDSWAT - I believe that Sable was hand reared. Nevertheless, you are 100% correct! It can be very dangerous even to a house cat,(notice how it layed back it's ears- predatory mode) and that Sable wasn't even fully grown yet. It was actually practicing it's deadly mount of a rabbit on that cat. In the wild, it would jump on a rabbit's back (just like it did the cat) and bite into the neck severing the spinal cord. I wouldn't be surprised if it killed that cat one day.
It looks like they're the best of friends, the way they play-fight. And yes, this is play - otherwise they would be much faster, louder, and more bloodied. They're just roughhousing here.
@SeadogDriftwood - I think You're wrong. The adult cat didn't seem to like the aggressiveness of that young Sable. However, the cat was holding back a bit because the Sable was young. If that had been an adult Sable, things probably would've taken an ugly turn with the cat coming out second best. Hopefully, the Sable was raised around that cat and will learn to respect it, for the cat's own good.
Ich habe momentan auch einen jungen Marder, der mit der Katze spielen möchte. Die Katze ignoriert ihn aber. Aber mit dem Hund kann er stundenlang so spielen wie dieser hier im Video.
Cats have troubles (play-)fighting with ferrets and the like, because cats will fight than break off and stalk each other, while the others keep stuck to who they're fighting :D
Ermine and stoats are extremely dangerous predators... I'm surprised that you let one around your cat. That said, he's being surprisingly gentle here, even if he's pissing your cat off a LOT.
42 second made me laugh!!!! "lets play riding an angry animal wich twice bigger then you, have larger teeth and nails and cant stand you any more!!!! yahoo!"
How is it that mustelids are so fearless? That cat's substantially larger, but the sable's chasing it around quite happily despite the cat's hissing. And there's a video on here of a ferret teasing a lion cub!

Stoat (much smaller than Sable) can kill a full grown rabbit with 10-15 times bigger that stoat. I mean that sable can kill a cat very easy.

My old ferret used to attack a neighbor's doberman at every oppurtunity..no other animal, though. It must have been personal.
