Why isn't she more well known? Her name should be in the same circles as India Airie, another artist I adore for her thoughtful lyrics and soulful alto vocals. These women are true artists. There's no pretense to their music. Yet, it seems that the girls with the "add ons" (i.e. added on hair, boobs, etc.) and the shall-I-go-naked booty-poppers with much less musical ability are the ones racking up Grammys and sales. Something just doesn't seem right about that.

Lizz Wright is spinning to the top alright, but not too fast as she won't be a fly-by-night. ;)

But even then it is unlikely she will have the same status as Christina or girls with the add-ons as you call them. :) It's the way the cookie crumbles, look at indie movies, they are ignored by the masses, but there are some true gems among them, and so on. C'est la vie!
