i actually just got this game yesterday and i was playign online and using yoshi on one of his bikes and i was leading by a huge lead and then the part when your in that cave thing with all the mushrooms i missed the last mushroom and i went from 1st to 4th...i got so mad lol xD

I'm not sure if you're wanting me to answer the shortcut thing now, but I'll answer it here:

I hardly use shortcuts, if they're a glitch (like on Coconut Mall how you can turn quickly and ramp off leading you into that parking lot area and just go around and around)... I feel like the glitches are not very sportsman-like or fair :) haha. Thanks again!

How do you play a race against so much people? I cant do it on my wii! T_T

@GThatwuzhard This actually isn't even the most people you can play with...usually it's 12, I think, per game at maximum.

That's odd that your game isn't letting you race with that many... Do you play "Worldwide" races? That's all I've ever done.

Is it one of those glitch kind of short cuts? Cuz I don't know many short cuts that are glitches and such.

@DrKendo Ok, lets see.... at 0:53 did you see that at you left there are some mushrooms? You have to stop and put your kart in front of those mushrooms, if you have a boost you use it and jump on it and then you will finde yourself in-front of the starting line, you cross it and the first lap is done! If you dont have a boost you can just make you, if you know how ^^ If you didnt understand ill try to make a video about it.
