@machone7I I would never deny that American Muscle has produced some very fine looking cars - infact, some of my all time favourite designs are late sixties - late seventies muscle. The simple fact is that I do not consider straight line sprints a sport in the same way I consider Rally or circuit racing. Also, I know about the Hennessy Elise (they call it the Venom) and I am very impressed with it so far, though I am interested to see how the lengthened elise chassis handles that torque.

@machone7I I'm pretty sure that if I bought an Ariel Atom, it would not be for the safety features :) But since you mention it, I think that the Chassis/Exoskeleton construction of the Atom is meant to be exceptionally strong for a car of it's size. Obviously this will only protect you to within a certain degree, but in structural terms should offer you the same degree of protection (minus airbags) of a medium size family car, such as a Ford Focus.
