Pyramid Head and the Nurses are easily the best monsters I've ever seen in a movie that were actually MADE. The other monsters were phenomenal too but the way they could make something as monstrous as them but keep some humanity just blows me away.

The only reason people associate them with one another is because it's dubbed "The Red God", and Pyramid Head is red-headed. Pyramid Head is based the town's executioners and followers of the Valtiel aspect of the religion, because they wear red hoods and white cloaks, which is the basic design of Pyramid Head. He's based off of the followers of that God, not the god itself.

This is what I like. When a director knows when CGI SHOULD and SHOULDN'T be used. These are organic creatures. And they should be portrayed as such. Beautiful artwork, costume, and make-up design. Hell of a job from the actors too. It can't be easy going through that process.
