  • THE LEASH IS TOO TIGHT ...... THE WALL IS TOO CLOSE BEHIND HER , SHE PROBABLY FEARS THE WALL BEHIND ...YOU ARE NOT DOING IT PROPERLY

  • My dog will only stay on the treadmill with treats; I've tried to take the treats slowly away but it doesn't help. I can't keep him on it for more than a minute; if he doesn't get treats he gets off. If we leash him he'll fight and stop. He does not like to feel forced to do anything.

  • That was one of her first times. I only used the leash for the first couple of times, then hooked the lanyard to her collar for another few times. Then I merely invited her on, nothing connected. She'll go for half an hour. Not too fast. Tonight she did 1.84 miles in 33 minutes. I slow the machine down and invite her to get off while it's still moving to remind her she isn't stuck there. I offer her a treat afterward. She loves it when I get on it with her. Tail starts wagging like crazy.

  • was that her first try? smart dog if she already knew what it was

  • Nice =D

  • you know wen a dog hangs out its tongue its normally bcos its hot, if you have ever seen a husky, it normally has its tongue hanging out but it loves to run. so i dont know..let it run for a bit longer

  • You are so right. I notice when I take her on her daily walk outside her tongue is always out instantly and she's still gung ho to walk. I've also taught her to get off the running treadmill any time she wants so now I don't worry about overtiring her!
