Most PGA Pro's don't know squat and further the physics of golf (basic ball flights) should be a required course before you get to say you're a PGA Certified Instructor...
I don't understand why ball flight laws were such a mystery. in 1969 the book "Search for Perfect Swing" demonstrated that the ball starts mostly in the direction of the club face.
Just goes to show that most golf pros don't know squat about simple physics! Should be a required course to get your PGA Cert!

How the ball starts is interesting, but not as interesting as where it winds up. The masters of golf had it right!
