  • Thats why I love my NVIDIA G-Force LOL!!!!

  • I officially have every BOTP & Gatchaman file. As of now I'm 48 episodes into the "Gatchaman" series & all I have to say is, "Sandy Frank's American TV executives really butchered it," as BOTP doesn't hold a candle to the 1972 original. Looking back on 1978, it is very obvious that these guys were riding the coattails of Star Wars' success. Such a shame to feel it was necessary to water everything down, let alone have it (to some degree) imitate another sci-fi franchise.

  • Is it just me or had end 70's, early 80's cartoons a higher standard as today. Just saw nowadays stuff on cartoon channel and I could't believe my eyes. What a bunch of shit !!

  • Why can't they just bring this show back on Boomerang? I hate when they take popular shows COMPLETELY off TV.

  • @gr8gmr Right on! Get the original Scooby, Dungeons & Dragons, Super Friends, etc. back on tv - when tv was tv!

Then get back on Battlestar Galactica (original series), Star Trek, Airwolf, A-Team, Voyagers, and almost everything else from the '60's, '70's, and '80's. Maybe it can help people to start acting like people in society again!

  • Awesome cartoon. Make this movie NOW!!!!

  • Possibly the only kids' cartoon where one of the main characters flashed her knickers

  • best cartoon ever made so many good memories of saturday mornings bring it back

  • Keop was a homo.

  • I watched both this and the original Gatchaman, and between the two I think BoTP had a MUCH better intro.

Also, I thought Zoltar had more than 38 henchmen?

  • I remember watching this and of course the original Gatchaman, but between the two, BoTP had a much better intro.

  • SSSHHHUUUUPER POWERS

  • The best cartoon I remember watching..

  • Load of old crap in billions of ways.

  • God i loved that...i was 6 years old again...lol

  • Best intro for a cartoon......... grew up on this with my bros eating Cereal Corn Flakes or Raisin Brand... Epic Cartoon

  • Look at the length of the intro, too. One-and-a-half minutes. The networks would never countenance that these days. Even the new Hawaii Five-O had its intro shaved to below 30 seconds.

  • @otk999 I agree. The introductions were just as great as the shows themselves.

  • The most incredible cartoon ever created!!!!!!

Ah the memories as a kid.

  • i swear i was beating the crap out of one of the characters from that show on tatsunoko vs capcom ultimate all-stars on wii the other day :)

  • I remember the year that I was in sixth grade, which would have been the 1979-80 school year, and the first year I had a black and white Panasonic TV in my bedroom, I would watch this show before going off to school.

  • This was the shit! Watched it every afternoon as a kid.

  • I used to run home from school to watch this. forget mi tea it was all about G-FORCE. THE BADDEST

  • When i was a teenager in the 80's i wasn't interested in watching cartoons from the 70's anymore, "Battle of the Planets" was whats up on channel 5 in New York City LOL! I absolutely Loved this cartoon. This was the godfather of Anime. I truly miss those days and enjoying the "real" G-Force!

  • Pause at 1:12

    Disgusting.

I am wanking as I write this...

  • Southern Sudan should have chosen this for their national anthem. Or the japanese should replace theirs with this cos it's epiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiic.

Imagine this playing at the olympics.

  • This show was guff, and also tosh.

  • This show was the shyt!!!!! I was watching this show every morning before school!!!!

  • I always liked this show better than Star blazers, How many times did they have to replace the glass on the missile button

  • Okay is there goin be a Real G-force Motion Picture ever and no not the dam hamsters i mean.....

  • Starblazers is way better.........On the other hand these old toons beat the crap out of the junk now days......

  • Comment removed

  • @RX78 I have seen most, if not all of the Yamato or Starblazer series....Not 100 percent sure though...Have not seen a list that has all of the series listed......

  • 1977! THE 1ST start of the space action genre they started when it came out (along with Captian Harlock) and is has been an overall influence since then for lots of other serie's, but GATCHAMAN(japanese title) is still one of a kind

  • @FishlipsMalone

    Gatchaman came out in 1972.

  • I loved this show when I was a kid - but I have no idea why :)

  • This series was ace, I was once fortunate to get my hands on a model of the space craft. It was shaped like a bird, and had 5 mini ships, that it could launch. I would definitely buy it if i ever see it again,

  • now its bob the builder..but still. listen to this reverb and echo...and trumpeets..wow..its like disco heart to heart..ness. .

  • now its bob the builder..but still. listen to this reverb and echo...and trumpeets..wow..

  • F U 7 zark 7

  • I used to run home from school to watch this. CLASS

  • 37 people need some G-Force in their G-spot

  • Hey I know it was a cheesy 70s theme music but the violins and the trumpets always got me. The way the Phoenix climbs to the violins is just awesome and then the whirlwind pyramid towards the end. Just the theme music got me as a kid, hell... it still gets me. This one, Sped Racer, Starblazers and Force Five (starvengers, grandizer and gaiking were my favorites)

  • @drgnlord2001 totally

  • 37 people are Spectra agents!

  • Alien galaxies from BEYOND space? what the fuuuuuuuuckkkkkkk????

  • I never saw this but it looks like power rangers was a shitty rip off of this concept...

  • @BladeofSorrow7 [off topic]

Power Rangers is a childish version of Super Sentai. the original Japanese version is way better than the American remake. a short movie named Rolling Bomber Special is amazing and only 7 minutes. so I suggest giving it a chance. I also recommend a music video named Sunao.

if you have the time, look at my favorites (Rolling Bomber Special, Sunao)

  • @RX78 and all of that crap owes its existance to this. g-force/gatchaman INVENTED the color coded super team.

  • Ah, Battle Of the Planets. This, Voltron and Speed Racer served as my introduction to Anime.

  • omg good the boys in the neighborhood and I use to pretend to be them..lol!

  • mhhh i dont know this cartoon since it never reached Germany but yet i know these ppls in there O.o wasnt that the Tatsunoko Crew ?

  • @Getdosunated

Mach GoGoGo (1967), Gatchaman (1972), Casshern (1973), Tekkaman (1975) and Godam 5 (1976) were made by Tatsunoko.

  • Easily the best cartoon intro ever!!! The theme music is brilliant!

  • before robotech there was Gforce; the only show back then, beside starblazers where people died.

  • @avernikas Hell yeah

  • @avernikas Ah, shame on you, you're forgetting Jonny Quest!

  • @Carandini bloody hell, I'm sorry. Whenever I think of Johnny Quest, for some reason, I keep remembering the remake, and not the Hanna Barbera classic. A lot of folks died on that as well. The new Quest was good too, like the one with the cow girl who had stolen money for a tribe's children, or the death of Ezekiel Rage. They had some good ones, but nothing as cool as the old episodes. The swamp monster, the invaders.

  • Comment removed

  • @avernikas Or that one eyed invisible ghost looking thing that they had to throw paint on to see it. It made that creepy sound as it moved.

  • @avernikas before Gotchaman (Gforce/BotP) there was Astro Boy!

  • @frankie385 ZNS Bahamas never showed that, only G-Force. StarBlazers was around '83 for us, Then around '84 G-Force, 86 was Robotech.

  • @avernikas Wrong. People died on every episode of Speed Racer.

  • @avernikas Don't forget inhumanoids man

  • I used to get in trouble at school for drawing pictures of the Phoenix all day long. Transmute!

  • Best show ever!!! Reminds me of school hols - they used to have this on with The Monkees and Why Don't You

  • as a kid in the late 1970's early 80's after school i watched this. bring back child memories. now at age 41 i tell my kids this is was the best cartoons. they laugh at my ass because they grew up on computer generated cartoons and 2000's high technology graphics.man i feel old.

  • as a kid in the late 1970's early 80's after school i watched this. bring back child memories. now at age 41 i tell my kids this is was the best cartoons. they laugh at my ass because they grew up on computer generated cartoons and 2000's high technology graphics. lol, man i feel old.

  • I'm sure other decades had their thing but coming home from school or lazy Saturday mornings watching this and stuff like Space Sentinals made the 70's for me.

  • Its obviously people who were born too late to experience all these great programmesthat dislike it. A time without fancy CGI, but with great imagination.

  • @Wolfe1024 no, its people who enjoyed the original japanese serie so-called Gatchaman during their childhood, and "this" american thing is an insult to that classic anime

  • 0:15 what a fake garbage! ¡el animé original japonés es un clásico

0:33 damn! wtf? lol yanquis tenían que ser...

  • 26 dislikes ? Zoltar's henchmen have access to youtube ;-)

  • PPL HAVE TOTALLY FORGOTTEN HOW IT WAS BACK THEN!!!

  • I went absolutely bananas for this show as a kid! I was content with the classic Warner Brothers and MGM cartoons of the pre-war/post-war era but Battle of the Planets took cartoons to a whole new level. Most American cartoons of the 60s, 70s & 80s sucked in comparison to great Japanese imports like Battle of the Planets and Star Blazers.

  • @spinocus Hell yeah! I'm right with ya on that!

  • @spinocus I agree. all we had back then was Hanna - Barbara shit that was repetitive talking dog or talking car with the same group of kids who all looked the the the Scooby Doo gang.

  • @spinocus

I watched this too as a kid

    Loved it! :)

  • @spinocus You are 100% correct. Very cool shows. Life has sucked the last 4 years, but at least I can look at these and be transported back to a happier time.

  • @spinocus dont forget mazinger z, or as we knew it here, tranzor z. that was around the same time too, perhaps a bit later but a great show. although, the booby missiles always cracked me up, even as a kid.

  • Like many shows of the era it had incredible music. Seriously, what kid's show could possibly compare from now? I know I sound like an old man basking in misplaced nostalgia - but I'm right.

  • Was the villain name Zoltar on this toon?

  • Remember Battle of the Planet chewy bars? 5p a pop. Delicious. The reason I've had 12 fillings and my right molar out.

  • Oh my fucking god yes. I so miss this show, one of my absolute favorites as a kid. The only shows I loved more were Batman: The Animated Series, Voltron, and Johnny Quest.

  • @KeizerXilian hey don't forget GI JOE. ANd the correct spelling is Jonny Quest.

  • @kimv020887 I'd say that but GI Joe was already off the air when I was younger. Only reason I even caught Voltron or Jonny Quest was because Cartoon Network showed it back in the days when Cartoon Network actually had a good daytime lineup. Now that I think about it, I did forget Space Ghost and The Herculoids though.

  • @KeizerXilian ALSO Don't forget MIghtor!!!

  • 7zark7 was an asshole.

  • as a kid of the late 80's, and early 90's, shows like THIS helped me stand up to bullies...seriously! so COOL to be a kid in those days!

  • Man, I used to RUN home in 1978 to watch this after school on Captain Cosmic. Man those were the days...

  • I used to watch this every day as a kid. There's one episode I'm trying to find here but I can't. From what I remember, the episode was called "Princess in the flower" It was a multiple part episode.

  • @jocegir "The Fierce Flowers" is the title you're looking for. Episodes 39 and 40 (using the Gatchaman numbering).

  • transMUTE!

  • wow the theme tune... brings back memories !!

  • Battle of the Planets was AWESOME!!!!

  • Didn't they only have the robot as a cutaway for when things got too violent or something?

  • I thought this show was in the 70's because i remember watching it when i was like 6 or 7

  • Comment removed

  • Loved this show as a kid thanks for posting!

But I hated that lame robot!

  • Comment removed

  • i gave thumb down due to 7 ZARK 7.... stupid western localization

  • the 29 that disliked this probably watch glee

  • but it doesn't have that original music!!!!

  • One of the greatest cartoons ever created.

I remember running up the driveway after school so I wouldn't miss the opening sequence.

  • @5150jafo

You and me both man ... it was this and Robotech that made a dude run his ASS off to get home ...

  • I love this show!!! One of favorites growing up. I just order the dvd collection. I can't wait for it to show up. Brings back memories. Those were real action cartoons back then.

  • 35 and i still love this theme, haha 'from beyond space' love it

  • 35 and i still love this theme

  • I remember this on UHF

  • ONE OF MY FAVORITE CARTOON'S....AWESOME after school show...LOV'D IT!!

    great animation AND AWESOME villian's!!

  • THIS IS THE BEST CARTOON EVER! I REMEMBER IN THE 2ND GRADE I HAD THE LUNCHBOX, I WAS THE COOLEST KID IN SCHOOL! G-FORCE!

  • @lamareaton DUDE I HAD THE LUNCH BOX IN 5TH GRADE. ILOVED BATTLE OF THE PLANETS!!

  • @Bladestar7 HELL YEA!! REMEMBER HOW ON THE BACK IT HAD 7ZARK7 WITH HIS GAT POINTED AT ZOLTAR!

  • @lamareaton HELL YEA!! REMEMBER HOW ON THE BACK IT HAD 7ZARK7 WITH HIS GAT POINTED AT ZOLTAR!

  • i was a rug rat watching this show with my little couz r.i.p bro, good memories

  • Ah memories. My first SF show - and been hooked ever since. Thanks. :-)

  • I used to watch this show when I WAS A TEN YEAR OLD KID. Now I think it's gayer than a three dollar bill.

  • @sacredcat The thing is though, if you get back in touch with your inner TEN YEAR OLD (Capital letters), it was awesome, wasn't it?

  • I used to RUN from the bus stop to catch the beginning of this show!

  • RAN all 12 blocks from school to my Grandma's after school to watch G-force with all my cousins. This music takes me right back to her living room.

  • sounds like the challenge of the superfriends intro...

  • @fdsaads

    Complete with subliminal "Star Wars" themes (7 zark 7 = R2D2) & (Battle/Wars-Planets/Star)

  • I loved it when I was a kid back in the seventies. I remember me and my cousin playing it.

  • Loved this cartoon as a kid - was the first SF show I ever saw & I've been hooked on them ever since. Cheers! :-)

  • Best Theme Music Ever!

  • 26 DISLIKES?

How the fuck could anyone dislike this?

    IDIOTS!

    : p

  • @JustJaymo Maybe they were Space Sentinels fans , haha.

Space Sentinels just pipped this cartoon for me but the theme tune was probably the best of it`s time amongst some VERY stiff competition.

  • @JustJaymo Don't you know, anime this old is suposed to be ignored because we have Naruto and all the new stuff... only the unhip would care about this old stuff.

God this brings back memories... This, Star Blazers, Force Five... ever notice how much of it back then was so similar to each other. More likely to do with the me too attitude of the media and so much of it back then was simular. ow well, it's branched out a lot since then

  • @JustJaymo

simply : they are too young or they don't have taste

i relive the old days by seeing this

    great serie

  • @JustJaymo

simple, they have no class and wouldn't know a greatness if it bit them on the....well you know.

  • @JustJaymo

    29 Zoltar's brainless robots (%

  • @JustJaymo Obviously they work for Zoltar.

  • to right best cartoon ever made my saturday morning!

  • @JustJaymo I second, unless your a hillbillie, how in the planet of Hell-666 could anyone dislike G-Force!

  • @JustJaymo

it's probably because we have alot of posers trying to pass off as original gotchaman fans, when in fact they weren't even born yet when this aired in the US.

  • @JustJaymo

AMEN! the second best cartoon theme next to Starblazers!:)

  • 26 people had no childhoods or TVs.

  • Loved it after school.

  • @Smithfilmproductions Same here, absolutely brilliant. Did you fancy Princess?

  • Wish I would have kept my old lunch box and thermos!

  • I remember watching this as 1 of my many after school cartoons in 1980, when I was 8.

  • Amazing.

  • I used to be in love with Princess...

  • That just took me back about 28 years. Goose bump material.

  • This really takes me back...

  • too bad the US version botched the original with 7 Zark 7 and all the great deleted scenes. Go watch the originals

  • this sound the super friends theme song

  • fucking brilliant

  • One of the first animes I watched as a kid.Starblazers,Tosho Daimos, later Robotech,Fist of the Northstar,Akira,Gundam,I still do watch some anime if it has a good story.Death Note was good.

  • THIS IS THE REAL G-FORCE AS WE REMEMBER IT and not that damn Disney movie with gerbils!!! "Battle of the Planets/ Gatchaman" is as awesome as I remember it !!!

  • i used to watch this

  • A freakin' Classic! -Darron

  • Dedicated. Inseparable. Invincible!

  • @stevebritgimp gotta give it more "umph"

    Dedicated, Inseperabuull, InVINCIBUUULLL!

  • 7-Zark-7 Rules!

  • takes me back to when i was about 8yrs old. i used to wet my pants when this came on the telly. wicked

  • First "anime" I ever was exposed to as a kid. I had to get up at like 6am and watch it on a UHF station. This was like 1981ish, if I remember correctly.

  • Kinda like the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

  • @Maoszman

1972 - Gatchaman (original version of Battle of the Planets)

    1975 - Goranger (1st Super Sentai)

1978 - Battle of the Planets (edited version of Gatchaman)

    1992 - Zyuranger (16th SS)

1993 - Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (1st PR, edited version of 16th SS)

in case you don't know Super Sentai, the original japanese version of Power Rangers, look at my favorites (SUNAO).

  • lol, i remember watching this as a kid in the early 1980's.

  • Wow. Totally stupid

  • Maybe one day someone will write a great script pairing G-force with the two Voltrons and making a mega cartoon!!! And what if Lyon-o was to enter the battle with the Thundercats........ I really believe gathering these superpowers together would be a monumental classic!! I for one would definitely own a copy to show my kids!! I love G-Force!!

  • @RicosDomeTown

Yeah; I always wondered about that line.

  • @sandstonio you do know that space has been measured and is actually finite right? that just begs the question.. so wtf is exactly beyond it? 97 billion light years across the last time i checked. i may be a bit off though.

  • I used to watch this Monday through Friday on KTTV 11 in L.A. Before school when I was a kid. The Phoenix is my favorite Design of Space Ship. I also own the CD soundtrack to Battle Beyond the Planets with and without Voice over and it rocks! 7zark7 was added to the American Dub!

  • One of many super excellent cartoons back in the day.

Great music and great show without the stupidity, violence, and language matter prevalent today.

Notice that as tv morally decays so does society. Atleast we had decent, moral superheroes when we were growing up and now it's Hanna Montana, Britney Spears, Reality tv, and Spongebob.

What's wrong with that picture, folks?

  • I'd like to see a contemporary big band, such as the LOUDHORNS, get together with

the other necessary instrumentalists, and record this, as well as other great cartoon

themes like Jonny Quest, the Herculoids, Mightor, Space Ghost, etc. as well as the

other underscore cues from these shows. I'd be first in line for that CD!

  • apparently 7 zark 7 is a wee plot device for us Brits - the violence of the fight scenes wasn't deemed suitable for us.

  • I was in the 1st grade drawing the phoenix, that scene at 1:30 I love it

  • what was marks father's name? was it commander kronos from the planet riga? this show put me on a whole other world as a kid but for the life of me and my friends we couldnt come to a conclusion on the endless debates about the gender of zoltar.

  • I remember this from the late 70's! In fact my nickname used to be "KEYOP"!!

(That's the youngest of the 5.)

  • That opening theme is still AWESOME!
