Satan means adversary and to follow the teachings of your adversary, whether real or imagined, is to be struck by the Stockholm Syndrome, ie being confused. I was confused for a long time, dazzled by dark mysteries.
Seeing how ritual abuse is real, no matter the nominal context, I was awakened from my confusion. The attraction to darkness disappeared. The real mysteries worth searching for are found in Jesus.
Fight evil with good and not through witch hunts that leads to more confusion.

@ThleTruth These things are delicate and complicated where the abusers are usually traumatized victims as well - however, that doesn't take away their responsibility or the consequences. Generational abuse is where demons are passed down through generations and kids can get demonized already before they reach their teenage years. We need radical love and forgiveness in order to break the cycle of evil.

It was so bad they would hand out flyers on the dangers of role playing games since it was a sure path to Satan. Seeing through the eyes of an adult now, I blame the media and some seriously messed up people (ie. "survivors) for causing the panic and egging it on for so long. What's sad to me is that we can't prosecute these people for adding to a hysteria that cause the conviction of many innocent people, many of whom are still in prison for crimes they never committed (ie. abusing children).

Oh man! What a throwback to my childhood watching this again. Thanks for posting Styx. I was just becoming a teen when the Satanic Panic was at it's peak in the mid-late 80's. For those who aren't old enough to remember it, the fear was real. I was a Catholic school kid and they had us petrified that Satanists were around every corner waiting to sacrifice one of us.

There's no evidence not because I claim it but because, quite literally, there was no evidence for anyone to be convicted. The entire thing was made up by fundamentalists, and promulgated by word of mouth.
