should i get this, the F6F Hellcat, or Zero, or Corsair, or Stuka, or B-25, or T-28. If you can't decide, just tell me which one looks the best. Thanks :)
ok.. here is my review. this plane needs several hours of work to make it sturdy. the 2 screws that hold the wing in place are a joke. I had to use velcro to help keep the wings stay where is suposed to be. THERE IS NO EXIT FOR AIR on the flying tiger model. everything got REALLY hot!!!! the casing for the re tracks loose and ready to. the battery is under powered. a 4 cell 20 c is not enough. I used a 4 cell 2650 40c. MUCH BETTER. but I had make room for it. Good luck.
Curious as to why you flew with the gear down. You need to take off with right rudder (as the real one did, you didn't mention) as you almost lost it from left torque. No scale flying either as warbirds should be flown.
I like what you had to say about the History of the real P-40; and since this is a scale down verison it still flies like the real one, I wish more people would do their research before they open their mouth about the modle they built and fly. Thank you for the History lesson, keep up the good work
My wife was actually the one that pointed that out, I was more focused on how sweet your plane looks and flies, considering the same plane. Great flight.
whats your take on the retracts im seriously thinking of getting this plane and i have heard the the retracts are kind of weak . did you do anything to them before the maiden?
@zostritch : I didnt do anything to it, but, the servos for the retracts are weak. I did have one strip on me on one of the landings. The plastic parts on it too are sort of weak, so any rough landing I just know parts are going to break.
Tony, at Nitroplanes commented that he didn't care for the way the plane flies. No problem for you? He also said that he thought the retracts might be flimsy. Your thoughts? I'm trying to decide if I should get retracts or fixed gear; I would prefre retracts. Thanks, great vid.
@PatBALEX : After I answered, I realized I was thinking wrong about flaps. They arent' set up for Split Flaps, but you can make them that way if you wanted with a little mod. They are setup for quick and easy drop flaps.
@svoslostick : I flew with gear Up and Down to demonstrate the plane can handle either. A close up of gear up is at 1:05, and then it might be hard to tell, but the whole vertical spin thing at 2:20 was gear up, and there are several more pass bys with gear up. thanks for watching
@popcornreviews : This flew on the stock transmitter. I had to look at the video again to see what you were referring to and then I caught a glimpse of the TX you were saying. Thats the New JR 9503 TX. 9 channels, 50 models, 3 aircraft types.
Very cool Robert, I got my NITRO P-40 I got for Christmas in 08, (LOL) all ready to go and hopefully get some vid of it real soon! Still waiten for some of that SU-47!
@youtwoba : Hey Tom, thanks for watching and commenting! Which P-40 do you have? You sound like me, having planes for months on end and havent flown or finished building. The Su47 will be going up the weekend after motherday weekend. It keeps giving me troubles right when I think it's ready. Gear Doors, my poor soldering ability (LOL), things like that.
@bloodhound122 : I should have mentioned that in the final review, it wasnt the torque of the plane, but the dirt runway, rocks. I flew 2 more times and one was straight as an arrow, and the other drifted off to the right. The hazards of a dirt runway. But I love the dirt runways, something about them fits a warbird so nice. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Nice Vid!!

nice flying Baron, if you had a choice between this p40 and the b-25 which would you get? By the way the landing looked sweet :)

@ripghost : Sorry for delay in reply. If I could only have 1 or the other...... I think I would go with the B25. ~~Robert.

Misinformed video.

Nice plane...Are the flaps split?
PatBALEX 1 year ago
@PatBALEX : Yep. You can install flaps super easy, cut the foam in one place each flap, install servos in provided slots, and hook up rods, wires.

Just took mine on its maiden flight this weekend. It flew smooth. Im not the pilot you are though, nice...
I noticed you never raised the gear? The whole flight gear down
Again nice flying/landing/review.
