Why couldn't the space battle above Coruscant be a level in the Episode III game?

I would've loved flying the Jedi Star Fighter around & shooting at the Droid Fighters.

At least there's a space above Coruscant battle level in Battlefront II but no Jedi.

Oh well, both games are fun.

Actually when it comes to space battles, I think this one is pretty realistic in some ways. If you look at how the ships are positioned, it makes sense. space is 3D. It would be stupid not to use all 3 dimensions. And in this instance, if you look, the ships are at different angles, going different directions and are on different planes. on that level, its a good scene

@Cbob972 Self Propelled Heavy Artillery - Turbolaser (SPHA-T), seen in Episode II to shoot down the Core ships. At Anakin Skywalkers suggestion these were placed active in the ventral hanger bay to protect the ship against potential attack from below (where for some reason it doesn't seem to have any guns underneath whatsoever)

The Jedi doesn't use the clone troopers like droids, though. In fact, if R2-D2 is of any indication, they even treat their droids with respect.

Both Kenobi and Skywalker are generals and much more powerful than a clone, that's why they are being sent to save the Supreme Chancellor and not a clone trooper. These clone troopers' duty was not to act as meat shields, it was to defend the Jedi so they could pass through. Normal military stuff.

With a tower in the Jedi Temple devoted to collect all knowledge in the galaxy, I believe the Jedi do have the tactical knowledge they need to lead an army.

Perhaps they weren't trained in strategy and tactics before the Battle of Geonosis (which would make their leading positions in tha battle pretty stupid), but as the war broke out they are sure to have had studied those arts.

Hey, man, it's combat. Any leader in wartime has to eventually make peace with the fact that some of the guys under his command are going to die. It's the reality of war, and it's necessary for a great many operations to succeed. Yes, you try to minimize losses, but, to be frank, you can't save everyone.

Obi-Wan was just pointing out that those pilots were fulfilling their role in the mission: they were drawing fire away from the Jedis.

@Ragitsu A shield_generator saves the ship from heavy damage, without shields a ship would be destroyed by 1-2 hits. With shield_generators, it takes a longer time, until the ship is really bad damaged. Also a shield_generator is a good thing for ships. =)

@Ragitsu in starwars the shields cant be formed from inside the ship... as it you have two types of shields... one of witch can tear a ship in two..and on the outside of the ship it just helps if the shilds are prone to failing.... koat for example had this problem... later this is fixed but designs were never changed

@skycaprob Particle shields and Ray shields. Particle shields keep the atmosphere in the hanger bay, Ray shields protect against energy weapons. And I believe you mean Kuat. Kuat Drive Yards built the star destroyers series. Rendili Stardrive built the Victory class though, KDY built the Venator's (seen above) and the subsidiary to KDY, Rothana Heavy Engineering built the Acclamators (in Episode II); too bad we didn't see them in Episode III.

I agree, the clones should of gotten some help, but Obi-wan had a point in saying that they were doing their jobs so they could do theirs. In any military, delegation of missions often come up. You know how in games you often get told "Cover X!" when X can fight but doesn't help you? That's what the clones are doing; covering Anakin/Obi-wan so they can accomplish their mission. Not saying the clones are fodder or anything, but that's what Obi-wan meant.
