  • Aos

  • Oh man, I remember watching this live. It was so intense.

  • hmm... never have to see that from a boeing product.

  • Bravo to the pilots

  • y no reversers?????

  • @binot Had they deployed the reverses, the aircraft would have suffered a pitch-down momentum that would have increased weight on the nose wheel. Just what the crew was trying to avoid.

  • @binot Listen to 1:10. :)

  • awesome fottage ... i linked a video response ..

  • Incredible job by the captain.

  • Awesome job!!! Those guys were born for this job

  • amazing job, kudos to pilot, I would have freaked.

  • This plane passed threw my house :)

    no lie

i lived in inglewood n wehn it came i saww the wheel twisted

  • At least its a safe landing.

  • XD look at it it's retarded

  • I'd imagine because the physics of doing so would have pushed the nose gear even harder into the ground (greater positive moment about the the main gear). Imagine hitting the breaks hard in your car... the hood gets pushed down while the rear/trunk raises up slightly. Pilot did an amazing job. Commenter is slightly retarded as 500 yards (1500 ft) is still plenty of room for that aircraft to stop (not land-just stop).

  • becuase that would push the landing gear down and they wanted to keep it as long as they could up, its not about minimizing stopping distance, its about putting the plane down safely using as much runway as they want.

  • The reverse thrust would let the aircraft be more bumpy wich would increase the chances to roll out to the left or right of the runway. Im not sure but i think it is like i just told ya.

  • ummmm, okay tnx 4 dat, fair point.

  • He did use reverse thrust. The commenter says so. As for the spoilers, they aren't brakes, they just reduce lift.

  • probably because they're more trained than you. and probably because they did not want to fuck up the engine. and probably because i guess they shut down the engine before touched the ground. can you imagine how many parts fell off from this nose gear? all they needed is an engine fire yes....thinking before post any idiot comment...

  • Yes! Wow I never thought that! lol!

  • wow!! that pilot must have got loads of awards for doing such a good landing

and also the airbus A320 is one of the best planes now after landing in the hudson

  • except their would be like a 30 second delay

  • man, the airbus is probably the best emergency landing aircraft ever, with the hudson river incident and all.

  • Well, it's not the biggest plane you will ever see, so a nice aircraft to handle.

  • that plane was suppose to land in LGB but instead landed in LAX because of extra room for landing :P

  • Ticket fare to JFK: $250

New nosewheel landing gear components: $10,000

Free advertising for JetBlue on KCAL: PRICELESS.

  • This is one of the best pilots ive ever seen especially how he held is nose gear up for a while after touching down

  • Very good video, that pilot is great!

  • hehehe I might be a moron, but you're an ignorant: the ICAO code for Los Angeles Apt. is KLAX. But I don't think that you even know what does "ICAO" mean...

  • Idiot--- THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK!!

    ICAO:International Civil Aviation Organization

It is the name little building next where the aiplanes are in pilot talk... Maybe you should look thing up before you try to be a smart alick

  • very good pilot..

  • jetblue is a great airline but i bet they can be even better if they partnered wit spirit air and become a merger wit spirit's low fares and jetblue's customer service

  • Yeah, but you can't get something for nothing :P If you want a good customer service (I don't know if Jetblue's is), you are usually "charged" for it :)

  • JetBlue is awesome. Satellite TV for every passenger with 50-some channels. More leg room. Only drawback is no food or drink service. However if your flight is less than a couple hours, can't beat it. Nice planes too, brand new airbus A320s. Oh yeah and CHEAP TICKETS of course. Logan international to Pittsburgh international: $92.

  • @prman595 jetblue is da bomb

  • 3 years already and still it hasn't been appearing on Mayday/Air Crash Investigation...

  • Keyword

    AIR CRASH He didn't crash

  • well not all air crash investigation episodes have an actual crash in them.

this isn't interesting enough to make an episode out of and also there wouldnt be much to say about the incident.

  • very god pilots

  • hell yea i new jetblue can do it JETBLUE RULEs and thats an amazing job from the pilot

  • Great landing.

Held it off nicely, and then kept excessive pressure off the nose to keep it from collapsing.

  • The pilot did a FANTASTIC JOB!

  • complimenti si

  • bravo,pilot!!!!

  • damen that was flight 301 i was in it rememberd how it was fuckin creepy aircraft i smell the shit came out of the window damen stupid hidrulics belive me i was in that aircraft airbus 320 oh i won get on that fuckin plane again

  • Learn to speak fucking English

  • was the plane put back into service?

  • Yes. The aircraft only suffered minor injuries: they changed the damaged parts in the nose gear, and went back to service again.

  • Not to discredit the flight deck at all, but there was nothing really special about the landing. I thought it was kind of funny how the news media hyped it all up by saying they're going to try to land on 'the back wheels' and that it was a very daring landing. Well, when you land normally you do the same. Like i said, not trying to discredit them but it was nothing spectacular.

  • Well, I partly disagree. As you stated, every landing in "tricycle" aircraft is performed hitting firstly with the main landing gear (MLG). That's OK.

What makes this landing different is the fact that the crew kept the nose wheel up as much as they could. This is not common, since usually the nose gear is put on the ground just after touchdown.

What they did is more likely a fighter aircraft landing, where aerodinamic drag is used as a means of braking.

  • But the fact that the pilot stayed calm and was able to do a normal landing just like that is worth some credit.

  • Yes, but they're supposed to stay calm and have such abilities. Otherwise, they wouldn't earn what they do :)

  • Are you stupid????? The front tires were completly twised Sideways!!!

  • truly amamzing... full credit to the poilots..

  • i want to be on that plane

  • i was on it

  • what was it like?

  • idk i was havin sex in the bathroom with the flight attendant at the time

  • and they said it was a "bumpy" ride..

  • it was an all male crew. hahahaha!!

  • u mean that was a guy?!

  • great vid ecjpr.

  • that was a heck of a landing

  • excellent landing

  • The pilot did a very good landing

  • What do you expect, it's JetBlue..no surprise at all. Bunch of idiots.

  • That pilot did a good job landing!! He kept on the centre line down the runway.

  • I was on that plane and it was really scary. But i was so realeaved that we landed safely.

  • was it a smooth landing

  • Yes i was.How would you know. Why would i say i was if i really wasnt. Its not cool to say it but thats the truth.and why do u have to call me a loser

  • yeah well everyone always has the wrong idea of aviation. its the safest possible way to travel, safer than walking. yet dumbass passengers always have a story about "how they almost crashed." the one's I hate the most are the retards who clap when the plane lands. what the hell, congratulations, you are one of the 10,999,999 out of 11,000,000 who survived a plane flight.

  • I don't actually think they clap because they have survived the landing, but for the soft way the PF put the acft on the ground instead. Landing an aircraft isn't that hard, but doing it softly (with little R.O.D) requires something more.

  • Yeah I suppose that could be it. I don't live in america and I fly all the time and it is funny that I have never seen anything like that anywhere else in the world but in the states.

  • it wasnt lol

  • Well done for the pilots, but I remember laughing at all of the reporters getting in hissy fits, no one really knew that this wasn't a big deal.

  • i remember watching this on the news that day. thanks for posting :)
