I agree that human history is full of religion yet this is not surprising. We live in an enviroment in which our brains have evolved to cope with the needs to survive. our necessity for invention has made us ask questions which could not be answered ... religion fills this gap yet new knowledge unravels the truth .. it is time to use this new knowledge to realise where we are going wrong! .. not by force but by education!

Darwin was a naturalist that explained the evolution of life on earth that formed the many wonderful species that exist and have existed. He trained in theology yet he is not regarded as a religious philosopher. His discovery, however does question religious thought that we are now faced with.... I am sure Theran is great in Ramadan but I'm not sure I'd be appreciated!

Humans think in a language that we have been taught by our parents. It seems we are talking to someone and it is not hard to see that we create our own inner peace with an imaginary creation of our own conciousness. Meditation does not prove a god. However we can reason for our own direction in life. Other species only have emotions to use as a thought process based on experience with good or bad responses. We create our own opinion on death yet we will be no more alive because of it!

Atheists do not really care that much about what others think! The problem is, that a religious mind does care what we think as it goes against their teaching and opposes their ability to gain power and funding! They use the moral and devil arguments against us so it is time for us to explain our opinions. Getting atheists together however has been described as trying to herd cats!

A subtle, but effective, method I have found is to continuously assert my doubts. Doubt is Kryptonite to religious fundies. Not their doubt, mind you, my doubt. If others see that I/you doubt, they'll begin to ask questions, investigate claims for themselves, the whole thing just snow balls. It doesn't work for everybody, but it works for enough.
