  • Grande Gergiev !!!!

  • ゲルギエフのマーラーはSACDだけでなくDVDやブルーレイでも

    発売してほしいです

    映像で観ることによってえられる感動があります

  • damn, that guy sweats

  • the way how he conducts is just so wrong and unclear

  • @ljosua Conducting is all about getting the sound you want out of who you're working with. Some of my favorite Beethoven recordings are by Furtwangler...who is also technically wrong and unclear, but he helps produce some of the most magnificent sounds I've ever heard.

  • this is the 3rd movement not the 2nd, is a great version

but i prefered bernstein vision, is like something transcendental

  • @fivimpb some conductors place the scherzo as the 3rd movement, some as the 2nd.

  • @fivimpb

The order of the inner movements is subjective, the scherzo could be either 2nd or 3rd.

  • this is the 3rd movement not the 2nd, is a great version

  • A bit fast overall for me to get behind, but other than that, I like it.

  • This my favourite passage in Mahler and for whatever reason the performance fails to move me. Maybe I ve been spoilt listening Karajans 1978 version with those incomparable Berlin strings. But here is the LSO strings showing just too much english reserve but there seems to be not much tonal alure or expressive warmth here. The whole performance is far to fast which kills the threat implicit in the opening march theme. Wished I could have liked it more.

  • @ Jaydoggy531

There are up to today doubts about the order of Mahler 6, (Scherzo - Adante)

Gergiev is one of the conductors, (as Simon Rattle, Claudio Abbado), who first played the Andante.

  • I love Gergiev. To hell with visual presentation, to hell with comb-overs. It's "hair-raising" music Gergiev's intends to s"hair" with Mahler lovers his can-do attitude even with those whose "dos" don't do it for the visually-obsessed.

  • @BrucknerMotet what a comment! hahaha made my day

  • @BrucknerMotet what a comment! hahaha made my day! :)

  • for a while i was not a gergiev fan AT ALL but this video showed me that he is a true MAESTRO at what he does as a conductor myself ican see how in the groove heis to the music and that makes the music seen out of time and space....BRAVO GERGIEV!!!

  • yeah, 3rd mov.

  • Gergiev - true passion & great master.

I experience it every time I play with him.

  • 2 totochtli86: can you conduct it in a more convincing way?!!

  • Its almost like he's trying to rush through the pain. Pretends like sadness doesn't exist. It needs to breathe more, way to fast.

  • @totochtli86 Even a slightly faster-than-desired tempo in Mahler symphonies makes nothing but a microscopic chip in the paint of the bumper of Weltschmertz. However, if one treats Mahler like a Mercedes, that chip is gonna cost you!

  • @totochtli86 i actually think thats the perfect interpretation..wouldnt you want to rush through pain in your life? theres no denying that its still there but most of us try to move away from the feeling as quick as possible..Gergiev captures true human emotion

  • @totochtli86 lol okay man, just don't ever say that to any of your conductors unless you want to get your ass woopd.

  • Love Gergiev.

  • Just great.

  • I love Mahler. Except for the Resurrection Symphony. I can't listen to that one all the way through for some reason.

  • OMG, Resurrection is his best work! Oh, well, opinions, opinions... :)

  • wow, you feel like me, I know many Mahler songs and like this symphony but not at all # 2. Too experimental, the choral part doesnt make sense, the soloist parts are poor. The text is so abstract, almost his personal life.

  • Well, not necessarily, right? Mahler originally wrote this so that it went Scherzo-Andante but then played it Anante-Scherzo at the premiere and at all performances afterwards.

So apparently the LSO is going with the second option, which was way the Mahler conducted it. It's their choice, I think. Interesting.
