Where I come from, babysitters, drivers, tutors, and home health aides are hired based on recommendation from someone you know. We don't put up a notice in the supermarker for a babysitter.

Responsible parents don't leave the kids with a total stranger. You want a babysitter, you ask the other parents at your place of worship or at your kids' school for the name of the one the use.

This starts out as an advertisement for investigators to get basic public information. That is a scam. I do not take these kinds of cases because people can do it themselves. It is true that most people don't know about these kinds of records but when people call an investigator for this kind of info any ethical investigator will just tell them how to find it themselves to save paying at minimum $40 an hour if not a more average rate $75 an hour. Don't trust someone just because they're a PI.

There is some very good advice in this video. Most Background Investigations can be handled using records that are available to the public. Most people do not realize how open court records and credit reports are. These court records and credit reports become tools in finding out who people are and what they have done in the past.

I agree, It can get tough if you don't have reciprocal contacts. But states that have Freedom of info act .. no problem. By the way, do you have anything to do with granite counter tops.. how to clean?

I agree... Me, being an investigator, most stuff you can find about through court "Public Records" Hire an investigator if you wish to find something out..... they have spent time and resources to find out everything... let them do the work.... you'll get the results.

Not really that easy - say you meet someone and they had been arrested and charged in another county or divorced someplace else etc. - those records are not available and you have to know how to go about finding out where they've been - at least until they really fully design an efficient central repository for information.
