i have an 06,

its very comfortable and has an amazing drive train but its a pig on gas (and i drive sensibly) compared to lets say, honda civic sedan some other imports. do not be fooled, its simply to heavy of a car to take off with out revving,

also, around 75mph you REALLY wish it had a 6th gear, i mean REALLY

Love my CPO 08 Jetta. Feels so solid. Feels safe! I like it better than my Benz! Well the Benz is a ML series but the VW still rocks! The Jetta is much funner than the Passat. This body style looks better than the new 2011 models to me.

mine does 0 to60 is uper 7s and i have never gotten 21 mpg in the city lowest i have gotted is 23 over the past 2 years. i normaly get 25 to 29 mpg in the city with the 5 spd

@natcat07 i have an 06 and people always tell me the same thing, one thing is that they have never owned a jetta, my uncle worked in the Puebla Mexico plant for 35 years, This is an amazing car i love my 06, once you hear the engine, you will fall in love with it.

how the fuck to i change the fucking air filter on this thing? it pisses me off i doont see shit anywhere for the airfilter i've looked everywhere and the last place im suspecting is under the cover for the engine. -_- theres a cover and im suspecting its there?

The jetta drives nicely. I will give it that.

I hate this car to no end. 1. Its rusting.

2. People will hit it in the parking lot cause its ugly.

3.Rusting because its been hit.

4. The transmission sucks. It will go out when driving the car.

This is interesting: in US they have the Jetta 2.5 litre engine 170hp..I am from Romania(Europe) and we don't have that engine. My Jetta is 1.4 litre supercharged+turbo 170hp..I believe this engine is the European downsized version of the US 2.5 engine..

our 2.5 is an inline 5 cylinder. I'd rather have the 1.4. It's more interesting. Mine is a 2.0t though!!! :)

Europe is smarter than the US! haha, we still put huge engines in our cars to achieve the same horsepower you get with your 1.4.... although, the 2.5 sounds pretty mean! i have that engine in my 06 Jetta

Yes you're probablly right about size however this 1.4 engine runs as a 170hp engine as long as you don't get beyond 200km/h(125mph). Since 195km/h you can tell it's a small engine. It's good for instant acceleration at normal speed.

VW Jetta are best 4-cyls, it has fancy interior and nice small car than other cars ever. I drive 05 Chevy Silverado regular cab but I am getting new one with manual transmission.

I've had my 2006 Jetta for a few months and I kind of wish I had gotten a TDI (for better mpgs) or a GLI (for speed), but even still....I love my Jetta =)

Get the TDI!! Gasoline costs more now and gets 35% less mileage with a engine that lasts half as long! The TDI has been clocked at as high as 60 Miles per gallon! Just bought the 2009 Sportwagon TDI in Reflex silver with black interior and I like it better than the expensive to operate Mercedes Benz that I drove for the last decade!

I am an Australian and i cant believe how down spec the jetta's are in the USA. I Drive a Jetta 2lt FSI (base model) and it has; esp, led lights, dual zone climate control, storage under the seats, upgraded audio system, parking sensors, and much more. no wonder why Volkswagen not winning the battle in America with the japs. Very good car.

You could always get a Jetta Wolfsberg, .. same engine as the GLI but comes with 4 doors and is much cheaper than the GLI because it does not have some other performance upgrades such as to the brakes and suspension.

if you dont want a gli but are looking for turbo, you can go with a wolfsburg edition. 2.5/2.0 turbo with some extra interior options.

I have had mine for about a month 2008 SE manual transmission. I LOVE MY JETTA. Couldn't imagine this car w/automatic transmission. That being said...this is a really fun car w/a beautiful interior and a great price!

this is a really nice car but the 5 cylinder is one of the worst engines in any economy car. I highly believe that it would be wise to upgrade to the GLI. Then it would probably be the best overall economy car money can buy
