They are not Pacific Islanders just because their islands are located in the Pacific Ocean. Japan's islands are located in this same ocean, but they are not considered Pacific Islanders. The Filipino culture is in no way "far from Asian" either. Go watch a documentary or read a book or something and educate yourself.
