The Age of Consent laws are there to protect children?

Firstly, Teenagers are not children, they are teenagers. They should have the freedom to develop their sexuality.

Secondly, we could raise the Age of Consent to 30, there will still be child abusers on the streets anyway. So AOC Laws aren't keeping children safe, AOC Laws are just hindering love. Punish child abusers but don't be ignorant enough to condemn a good young man and put him in the same boat as a child abuser.

According to The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child human rights treaty which is respected and followed in the world wide community as the main guidline for the human rights of children, everyone beneath the age of 18 is a child. In the folks saying however, children which are in the phase of ''teenager'' or ''adolescent'' are also called by the name of that phase, a adolescent or teenager. They are still however a child. I think this is just stupid. If the girl went to the police, claiming it was rape, then he should get charged. But they are clearly happy together, and want this child, so why shouldn't they be allowed? Just because the girl is 14, doesn't mean she has the mindset of a 14 year old. A lot of young girls are actually much more mature than they are portrayed to be. It's also only 4 years difference. You wouldn't think much of a 28 year old being together with a 32 year old, would you?

I don't consider a 3 year old to be a baby. For me infancy ends at age 2. As for the 5 year old Peruvian mother, she actually had her first period at less then a year old. A few girls have glandular malfunctions which cause early puberty.
