Green Mile was so poignant, powerful, beautiful. It was the first movie in my lifetime that made me cry. This tells the world how painful and difficult it is to let someone suffer and die when you know he don't deserve it but there's nothing you can do to save him.
that last scene, i dont know why, i dont even have seen the full movie, but its so sad
the grandpa is so joyfull and wants to do annything for his son to be with him, even tell him his litle, unimportant/important secret trick for it, and the damn idiot isnt doeing annything ? ;(
and he is even just so rude and takes his fathers dream away that his secret was realy a secret ?
7:29 and look at the goddamn coin its so goddamn silly and it means everything for his dad !!!!
WHEN my dad and i were watching the click part with his dad at the work part my dad started crying because his dad died 2 yrs ago and the last words out of my grampas mouth were "I love you alan" (my dads name)...
BlasianQT101@ I totally agree dude except for twilight...das not sad but also troy, fav movie, legends of the fall, Leon, kite runner, titanic, in the time of the butterflies, walk the line, united 93, crash when he pulls out the saint instead of the gun;(, gladiator...any historical movie period. But beauty and the beast...omg when beast roars on the balcony that killed me...also the little princess...I'm very sensitive...lol
Lion king is my childhood movie I have to cry every time I see it...so sad Disney doesn't make movies anymore...also peter pan...does anybody cry In LILO n STItCH...cuz i do;(
I consider the moment from Crash as the most saddest part ever when that little girl got shot in front of her parents but somehow survived. But another sad movie scene I remember was from Pokemon the first movie.
My saddest yet most beautiful moment was 9's ending. Seeing those souls of the 5 ragdolls and causing rain, which causes life to replenish on the Earth. Beautiful...Cloverfield was beautiful because we don't know what happens except that audio scratch saying Help us and It's Still Alive. Marley and Me?........*gets out tissues* Just watch it....
Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows made me SOB like a baby! In the theaters I had to stuff my scarf in my mouth to muffle them!!! The same thing happened in Toy Story 3 and Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince and Marley & Me!
To be honest, I cried in Peter Pan 2, when Tinker Bell dies, in UP and in (you my be surprised) one episode of South Park called Kenny Dies. Is sooo sad :'(
To be honest, I cried in Peter Pan 2, when Tinker Bell dies, in UP and in (you my be surprised) one episode of South Park called Kenny Dies. Is sooo sad :'(
And I've NEVER cried on Lion King, don't know why :(
Wow dude, its like I didn't even need to watch the whole movie to get in touch with my emotions. If you can pick up on something like that, make be you should write or look into doing movies yourself. Writing short stories can bring out hidden abilities, You truly captured the moment.
well the saddest scene i ever watched on tv was this show called "FOX News" i cried when obongo became president .. luckily it didnt happen! OR DID IT .. ?
(Note: If you have not read or watched Harry Potter 7, do NOT read this comment)
Thescene where Dobby dies in the latest Harry Potter made me sob. Like, literally, SOB. Saddest thing I've ever witnessed.....Dobby and his little boots.
click? really? i mean there are at least a dozen more movies sadder than that...philidelphia story and and house of sand and fog!! that bathroom scene where she used the bathwater to take the pills to overdose?? come on!
One of the saddest movie scenes or me (Well for a movie we had to see at school based on the book we read) was Bridge to Terabithia. Just because of the death scene that actually happens no come back to life. It makes you wanna cry because it was a 10 year old kid who died and that it was pretty sad for a movie presented by Disney in 2007. But my saddest movie moment would have to be either Click or The Green Mile.
@136hendrix thank you! oh and also an american crime is really sad too! It is like a twisted version of the outsiders except this is the true story of a girl named Sylvia Likins.
Also Blood diamond, Letters from Iwo Jima, Pearl Harbor, West Side Story, Sound of Music, Romeo+Juliet, Saving Private Ryan, Glitter na im kidding but ya there are tons thats came out before 2008
Also... Big daddy, Diary of a mad black women, Boy in the striped pyjamas, Lovely bones, Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Dear John, Last Song, TWILIGHT....
I'm an adult man but the scene that shocked me by making me choke up was where Forrest Gump discovers he has a son and then looks horrified as he asks Jenny if the boy was smart or was he .."like me..."
I recommend everyone watch The Mudge Boy. I can send you the link. I promise its not dry, its not a part in the movie that will make u wish u could fast foward, the movie is great. Its not an action, its just great. Im the unofficial movie critic.
are you saying you've never seen the green mile? :O
its just about guards on death row that receive an inmate for murdering two children (which you find out he never did, it was someone else), but he's slow/retarded whatever you wonna call him, and he has healing powers and one prison guard (tom hanks) becomes really attached to him, and the ending is just SO sad :'(
i used to make fun of my grandma when i was younger for cryin at the end of movies, but now that ive got older and more mature im the one bawlin like a baby at the end of movies lol
@chrismaster95 oh gawd my sister and i cried histerically at toy story 3, it was a combination of that it was sad but also that we grew up with it and now its over :(
this click scene was sad but the scene in the hospital where he chased his son to tell him something important and then when he died on the road was the saddest thing ive ever seen
@bennie461 the black guy was arrested on charge of rape, because he's black even though he didn't do it and he was excuted.. it was just reallly sad, you should watch it. theres way more of a story to it, then that.
Click reminds me a lot of It's A Wonderful Life.... at least the general way the plot works when he wakes up and he is back in the present and thankful for everything...
click was pretty sad lol, i expected it to be a full comedy movie, then i saw it the first time on regular television and the last like 45min of the movie was just pure sadness which caught me off guard cuz i was like wtf this is so depressing lol =/. good movie tho just like green mile =D
@diablo9317 The same happened to me, first time when I watched it I thought it's gonna be another comedy but the ending completely blew me off. That was completely unexpected and I was like - what a great movie with so very important message!
The first time i saw The Green Mile it was on TV. Me and my sister watched this movie and when it came to this part we cried so hard. This is one of our favorites movies to cry to.
The Green Mile is about how Martyrs get killed. There is no money making in Martydom. There is no profit in Martydom. That is why martyrs go unnoticed.
The true martyrs are those from Palestine. They need a home, too.
@MosesReyes1 In the novel of The Green Mile there really is no message, its just a story recounted and the readers are left to decide. Some major themes are the pain of life, the inevitability of death, the uncertainty of the hereafter, how evil manifests itself, how good can be twisted, and way too many others to list here. Really its about life and death in general, martyrdom is never directly addressed.
@TheYoungPrometheus Good points, Prometheus. John Coffey was a good guy and a martyr that was killed by the ignorant legal system of 1930's America.
John Coffey came as a healer and giver of Life, but there was so much evil around him that Life was choked out of him. The Law of this earth is blind and will deal unjustly with ANY accused, even a martyr. That is the point of John Coffey's martyred execution.
Do you know what scene I think is kind of a sad scene that never gets it due because of the humorous tone of movie is Shallow Hal when he goes back to the burn ward and sees the little girl for how she really is and he tries to act fine but is visibly shaken by what he sees but yet still is nice to burned little girl.
lol... I think this film is one of the most poignant of modern times...
The lesson he learns teaches us all soemthing very valuable... Life is for living not so much for working.... (keep a healthy balance between everything...)
@1993kofi Poignant has to do with general interest and relevance to the masses. I would recommend you What dreams may come definately, Milk, Boy in the Striped Pijamas, Pixar's Up is also a great film... i love the sequence at the beginning where there' no dialogue but you understand everything that's going on :)
yea the ending in click is about 20,000 times sadder, the part where he collapsed in the parking lot? i remember when i saw it EVERYONE was crying in the theater.
nice vid, whats the name of the song at the very beginning? :)

I don't get why Green Mile's at ten though, its a brilliant film !

The Green Mile is probably one of the saddest movies I've seen, along with Titanic, The Notebook etc.
The storys just so sad, how John dies when he was only trying to help.
Hes was innocent and no one had a way of showing it :(

I hated click. The whole movie I was hopeing the guy would just die already but NOOO....he learned a "lesson". Grr. The Green Mile rocks though.

lol... I think this film is one of the most poignant of modern times...
The lesson he learns teaches us all soemthing very valuable... Life is for living not so much for working.... (keep a healthy balance between everything...)

What does poignant mean? And what movies would you recommend to me?
1993kofi 1 year ago
@1993kofi Poignant has to do with general interest and relevance to the masses. I would recommend you What dreams may come definately, Milk, Boy in the Striped Pijamas, Pixar's Up is also a great film... i love the sequence at the beginning where there' no dialogue but you understand everything that's going on :)

@JoeyLives67 I'm not gonna lie...I would have sobbed if he had died. I thought it was a good movie but its true it is very poignant.

@JoeyLives67 face it man, adam sandler is too nice to die. when he does its the same thing that happened to michael jackson.
