  • Why didn't they drink tea back then? I always see people with coffee bur never with tea?

  • @Mrhahahahatim They did have tea. it was more a civilian and rich drink. it was never issued or at least not documented if it was. also it was very expensive and dose not provide the energy to the soldiers that coffee gives

  • Where can I get some of those plain white sacks?

  • @Mrhahahahatim Watch my vid on how to make them

  • did they issue any meat other than salt pork-- im a jew so my religion forbids the comsumtion of pig

  • Slab bacon is the closest to get today from period salt pork. Store bought salt pork WILL NOT KEEP in your haversack. You will get sick. Not saying your using it but just saying for others.

  • You should leave your canteen in your haversack, its a reenactorism to strap it to your canteen. Russet potatos were not cultivated until after the war in the 1870s. Oats were issued but rarely.

  • Ty so much I will use all of that!

  • @MrCamm113 make your own.

  • Thanks so much! I will use all of that! Can I buy some of that hard tack off you over the mail?

  • Thank you so much! I will definetly use all of that! Thank you so much. P.s I would by some of that hard tack off you over the mail if you want.

  • Nice. For about 20bucks,you can pick up real civil war era Sliverware :D

  • @Type99Arisaka i have an original spoon civilian and pretty dirty...real silver...idk how to clean it and afraid to damage it

  • @97yankeeboy Soap and water will work just fine. Its probably a little tarnished and baking soda and water with light rubbing will take care of that.
