  • You forgot to add that God is the greatest Scientist of all! :oD

Your base are all belong to God!!!!!

  • whoever narrated this, he really lost it all............

  • i really really hate dumb people who depend on science too much as the their main basis of our existence. People who dont know the limits of our understanding of physics as early stage species

  • no hard feelings deltaatheism, Im just stating out what i think is right......

  • well we can consider God as the higher civilization. Able to communicate through each one of us in an unimaginable way that no technology can ever compete... It may seem fantastic, but that's what will become of a well-experienced civilization that had managed to thrive for eons. their capabilities are far beyond a type 0.72's imagination

  • think about it, our race is still on a kardashev scale rank of 0.72. you know how weak that is, right? in other words, we have not yet acquired enough knowledge to explain EVERYTHING in the universe. Were still newborns... And every newborn of course has a parent civilization. well what if theres a greater one, a greater civilization far beyond our understanding and it had been out there existing long before we came to existence. and that it had been forming universes.

  • I, as an open-minded person didnt post here to look for trouble but I posted for the truth,.... I just wanna talk about the existence of God that some call a conspiracy, hmm, well, what do you think? is it because there are no physical evidences of God's existence that you have been baffled by atheism? well if that's your reason then you are a closed-minded person, you only think of what is present and you dont realize the limits of the human knowledge for now.

  • Obesity? Diabetes?

  • People using science built our civilization, and hardworking farmers provided the food that built that.

Without coal miners, loggers, and old-fashioned manual labor built the buildings, the factories, and every other place where science takes place.

Taxpayers built science, as well. Where's the credit for the common men and women, my egalitarian friend? :)

Science doesn't build anything, people do.

  • What I like about science is that it unites us all no matter of race and so on.

    Whats your skin color Deltaatheism?

  • Green.

  • There is also an unusual field of science that also uses technology to better understand man particulary...the human psyche... and it's called psychology! Psychology deals with 2 aspects that are always at war in the human psyche and both as real, intellect and spirit. To say that intellect is crap and science is shit is as destructive and dangerous as in saying that spirit is fable and soul a human invention! The human being cannot live in a world without meaning or purpose!

  • "The human being cannot live in a world without meaning or purpose!"

    Explain.

  • I was not attacking science. Science and technology are as important for us just as having a diety to believe in. But this old argument (atheism vs religion) would be put to a stop if only the word physical would be dropped out of conversation. "Physical" is not the only criterion of truth: there are also psychic truths that can neither be explained not proved nor contested in any physical way. The human psyche deals with themes that are real from a psychological point of view!

  • If they by definition cannot be explained or tested, why believe they exist?

  • They cannot be proven in a physical way, but can be proven psychologicaly! If they cannot be tested in a lab, but has been observed without bias that these psyche themes are a recurrence in the human psyche throughout man's history, that means that they exist!

Recurrent themes come again and again in the human psyche, themes like the archetypes of God image, Logos, Eros, the Self...! They were not invented, they are passed by one generation to another.

  • I am not a psychologist, much less a human one, so this is far outside my expertise and thus I have no intelligent reply to that.

  • May I say to you sir, well done! You are one of the few people I have met on youtube that admit to the limits of their knowledge without feeling offended because of it!

You have showed me a great lesson in humility, sir! Something we should all endeavour towards striving!

    Hats off to you, DeltaAtheism!

  • Actually science does not have the answers to how or why the universe exists! The beginnings of the universe still baffles scientists! Science has its limits!! All of this, the search of the truth, in the end is the biproduct of the human spirit, of our essence! And that esence, that spirit can never be proved scientifically! As Carl Gustav Jung said: We should not pretend to understand the world only by the intellect. The judgement of the intellect is only part of the truth.

  • Just because the answers are not yet fully understood, does that justify attacking science as a whole?

  • The psyche deals with the Unconscious, archetypes, myths, the ego, the will, sexuality, the conscious. Themes that can generate a total chaos in the human mine if not properly understood and/or repressed! The psyche continues to pose a great problem to humanity. If a religious man is plagued by doubts is bound to have a neurosis, if a scientific man is plagued by dreams of angels, diety, unexplained happenings in his life is bound to have a neurosis. Psyche is real just as the physical world is!

  • And no, nothing justify in attacking science as a whole, just as nothing justify in attacking religion as a whole. We need religion from a psychological point of view just as we need science from physical point of view. Both help us in understanding the universe and us better! Both give us meaning and purpose!

  • I highly doubt you need religion. Look at what is has done for you - death, death, and more death.

It does not help you understand the universe; what religion does it posit answers - usually "god(s) did it" - and then refuse to change even in the face of contradictory evidence - dogma.

  • The Unconscious contents (has been observed and studied) have a degree of autonomy over the conscious ego and can influence human behaviour! Religion has a hand in holding the chaos of the Unconscious contents at bay, because it deals with such archetypes! Where religion fails is that it refuses to take "knowledge" into account! Similarly, if one refuses to see the validity that these diety archetypes have upon the psyche, one can succumb to mental brakedowns (the case of Nietzsche)

  • In the end, is not religion or science that kills, the man is the problem! It is his perception of reality! If it is one-sided, then without shadow of doubt he is bound to terrorize his fellow humans (see the cases of inquisition - religious one-sidedness, everything done without reason and logic and communism - scientific one-sidedness, forced industrialisation at the cost of human value that was based on his symbols of divinity, destruction of churches, etc). The problem is man!

  • I will agree that human nature is a major problem - you have an entirely irrational desire to kill each other in great numbers.

  • @DeltaAtheism What "you" are you talking about, lol? In the video it's "us", but then it's "you," and furthermore, men can't be the victims of science and the master of it at the same time, can he?

If so, why waste your time? This is a paradox.

  • I fail to see what point you are trying to make...

  • Beautiful.

All from the rational mind of man.

Religion is worse than useless, as it impedes science.

  • Yes, look at "seekatruth"'s comments below. *wince*

  • Sorry, megaloethor, not seekatruth.

  • You go me with that one! :)

  • there seems to be a big gap in the video feed.

  • Really? Please clarify so that this can be rectified.

  • He just provided a retort.

Did you not read his reply? Of course not. Either that or you just ignore everything intelligent he has to say.

  • Wow. You really ARE pathetic. You lose on one video, and you decide to go and spam other videos of mine.

As for your statements about nuclear war, explain the fact that the ones at high risk of starting such a war are the "End Times" fundamentalists.

  • Many of those scientists were creationists because there was no alternative at that time.

  • So true.....

  • What book of Stephen Hawking's did you get the excerpt from? I'd like to check the book out myself.

  • i cant rate!..........WTF!

  • Votebot protection. I made a video about that.

  • TY:D

  • It irks me too when I hear that the Muslims want the world under sharia law. If that were to happen, 99.9% of the population would be forced into poverty. If the christians had their way, we'd be living in fear all the time. Well, with the muslims too. Any organized religion is built on fear.

I agree completely. I think it is a waste that a preacher or someone who claims their holy book is the one and only truth, uses a Blackberry. I see an uncertain future for mankind if religion persists.

  • It is very sad that this amazing video has less than 400 views while stupidity reigns supreme on youtube.

Delta, know that your work has touched a young medical laboratory technologist in training. I side with truth and progress and I found this piece extremely moving.

    Thank you.

  • Stupidity is easier! Besides science delivers, so it is taken for granted. Religion is simplistic and makes exorbitant promises and threats that cannot be directly falsified, then pads them in layers of protective illogic.

If His Imaginary Ineffableness wants to be worshiped, He ought to put in several televised appearances and perform some indisputable miracles!

In the meantime, science is much more wondrous than religion to those who understand it.

  • Wow! Science is now a religion!! Funny!

Hey! Science is gonna' give you the 666 Microchip implant so you can all worship the Beast.

  • First off, how is science a religion? Religions function by imposing a dogma that is not to be challenged. Science puts forth hypotheses and tries to prove or disprove them. If the hypotheses are proven, they become theories, like gravity and evolution.

Enough of the microchip conspiracy. The worst these chips could cause - barring a computer virus that causes some confusion - is an allergic reaction.

    [cont'd]

  • Finally, given that you own multiple accounts, and all of the antiscience comments went from -4 to +3 overnight, it is obvious you have abused the comment system. As per the rules shown in one of my videos, that has one fate. Blocked.

  • I am glad I have you on my list now.

  • it kills me when christians use there camera and computer that science gave them to bash science. without science there would be no YouTube

  • You clearly are as ignorant as you sound. I'm not even to bother arguing with you, as you have resorted to all the biblical crap and the "seek god and get saved" nonsense.

  • nice video very very true what you've put in

    i agree 50000%

  • Science and God both lead to killing people, in any era both are present, from the first fire to the first word. It is because of the human mind and the facts of history that have shaped the future of past presents. People know of a god but put an iimge on it. GOD IS ENERGY EARTH IS HEAVEN & HELL! at 2:00 it says what we wouldnt have, most of those thing are not necessary to live life the way it was intended for us human beings. anything thought highly of, that is not real, We rent these bodies

  • Are you saying you would rather live without healthcare, climate control, a steady, high quality food supply, and entertainment?

    Do you really mean that?

  • No, im saying its time to fuse the two before the current system eats peoples souls, I am down with everything science has taught me, but other people dont take it as far as we have, no i have no religion, but I love life! so to pick a side is like living ina box, to understand we all need to eat and poop, is the corner stone of this existence. lol, everything works together, but the "leaders" tear us part with individualism.

  • We seen in how through history when a power structure supressed advancment.

Currently science is the stable of our everyday life. And we also have goverment out of control exploiting science in a imature way. Its like giving a Uzi to a chimp on full auto and expect the chimp not to play. Before we make the next generation of super weps, Can we take a pause and bring in birth control first. Can we repair vital infastructure. Or at least repair the Levys to withstand the superstorms soon to come.

  • Maybe there should be a colony where these people can go. Those who hate science and those who embrace it seperated. See which civilization lasts longer.

  • I've always said that Stein should be deported to Antarctica, prohibited from any use of science whatsoever...

  • We should feel privileged that we have all the benefits that science has & will continue to produce. The dark ages are gone, let it stay gone.

    Excellent video :)

  • 2:25 "we wouldnt have yogurt , porn , bananas or coke" and that why i fight to defend science

  • That says "yogurt , corn , bananas or coke""

The processing does damage to the enunciation.

  • my mistake XP

  • I love the graph at the end. I got into a comment argument about a week ago with some fundie who said "modern science wouldn"t exist without christianity". Your graph pretty much sums up my response.

  • Ben Stein's comment that science leads to killing people is childish and laughable. That he could go on television and make such a statement is only proof of his ignorance of history. Most of the killing done by humans has been done in the name of some god. After all, it's easy to kill someone you think your god will damn. Stein is a superannuated baby.

  • lol at "superannuated baby" excellent turn of phrase. :)

  • Well the sad thing....is, even if he's right and science leads to killing, it wouldn't disprove it, or get rid of all the good thigns it's brought, just as if the mere hearing of evolution turns everyone into mindless killers, wouldn't change the fact of it. These people would rather live in ignorance then enjoy the truth, wether good or bad.

  • @Largo64 can you give me a brief explaination of what youre talking about? please

  • @spacewatcher215 Ben Stein remarked that science leads to killing people. I pointed out that religion, not science, does that. If the word superannuated threw you, it just means "old," literally "having many years."

  • @Largo64 so your defending science right? i just wanna know

  • @spacewatcher215 Of course. But it isn't "my" science. It's yours, too, unless you live in a cave and use stone tools. Luddites, who decry science, are hypocrites, especially when they use computers and websites like YouTube to tell people how dreadful science is. You aren't one of those, are you?

  • No internet without science??? That's it! Say no more! I'm abandoning creationism and religion and growing a brain right here and now!

  • Every Theist that disagrees and claims that their "faith" is the real answer to the universe needs to give up all things they have because of science then see how they feel. Dumb brainwashed bastards. I'm sad that there is still organized religion on this planet. No matter how far we advance, there will be weak willed pricks that need to feel special.

  • I do not understand that people need more then this world and nature. There is so much to see in just this one world. We do not need anything more that is beyond that is spiritual. Even if we had a million life times then we still would not know everything. Why should we sully our experiences with something that might exist when we can see and experience what does exist, and be wondered each day.

  • If the fascist religious psychotics flag this or attack it in any way, I swear to upload it on at least 3 disposable mirrors so that it may go viral!

  • That's the longest and most humbling list of fields of scientific study I have ever heard in one place; yet, you left out several of this decade's most important: Neuroanatomy, Neurotheology and Receptor Pharmacology. I do appreciate the wording towards those fields, but they must become household words before the average amerikan idiot will ever even begin to understand themselves. Many of even the most ignorant among us can now say: "astrophysics," even if they can't truly comprehend it.

  • I took a page from Dawkins (literally) and only listed the B's. I could have spent 20 minutes listing everything.

  • Probably more than 20. :-)

  • Fantastic vid!
