The "die in battle" was already fulfilled symbolically in Doomsday. On our Earth, in our reality, she was listed as dead or missing. Rose wasn't there when the Ood said the song must end. It was just Donna and The Doctor. Most people seem to be voting for Donna to be the one. There are also some theories about the TARDIS being the most faithful companion. In Parting of the Ways, it did possess Rose to rescue "my Doctor." I have doubts about that theory for this one, but it is interesting.

David Tennant is scheduled for several movies to air next year to fill in the gap between season 4 and 5 while Dr. Who is on hiatus. It's rumored that he will return in season 5 but yet unconfirmed. David states he will return if the BBC asks him to. With his enormous popularity I think he will remain at least 1 more season, so I don't think this is particularly the end of David Tennant the 10th Doctor.
