just because of the discussion, if this is fma/panantukan: at 1.54 you can see one of the guys wearing a t-shirt with the logo of kali sikaran, the style of punong guro jeff espinous who learned the panantukan aspect of the fma from ted lukaylukay, the son of lucky lukaylukay who was called the "fahter" of panantukan. as far as i know at least one of the founders of kurae no ken was one of jeffs students. jeff told me about him. so it is clear: there is fma/panantukan inside this stuff!
I'm not sure about this particular styles, because I've only just found out abut this, but it shares a great deal of similarities between Kali and Silat, so you'll learn a crap load looking up those styles
this is not kung fu this is kali/arnis/escrima or F.M.A OR filipino combat systam
to all you people who dont know a thing about kali/arnis/escrima check out my channel see all my play list and read the description. and check out my favorite vids and anyone can ask me anything they want to know about kali/arnis/escrima just rely or send me a personal message "PEACE"

I was watching this video last year sometime and liked what I saw since a lot of what they're doing is in Inayan Eskrima (Panantukan and KDM). Having trained with Jeff Espinous the last few days though these guys took FMA concepts and just ran with it. Seeing Jeff move in person is like a lesson in fluidity and power. And re-watching this video today you can clearly see Jeff Espinous' movements reflected in those guys.
Great stuff! Myself I'm a dogbrother... I like the Wing Chun and Escrima-Kali moves in your style. That's what I live and die for. And the music expresses the mood very well. Greets from Zurich/ Switzerland
This is truly wonderful stuff, lovely flow work excellent disarms, I particularly like the way that the knives are stripped away from the hands. Now if you could just show us the video of this stuff working in an ardent sparring situation, against an uncooperative and unpredictable opponent I think the experience would be complete. OR IS IT JUST TOO LETHAL TO BE PRACTISED THAT WAY?????
Part 1. Old story. This is nothing but a demo of a drill, and shouldn't be taken any other way. If you can show me how you can teach students to work constantly in "an ardent sparring situation, against an uncooperative and unpredictable opponent" EVERY SINGLE MOMENT THEY ARE TRAINING - then hats off to you. Good luck with the injury factor.
Part 2. Even professional boxers wrestlers, Judo players, Gracie Jujitsu players, MMA fighters, etc. don't do it that way: they do drills that build high percentage skills and attributes into muscle memory. Then they spar. Do we criticise the army for teaching marksmanship skills in a controlled environment, or do we expect our soldiers to train how to fire a rifle under hostile fire?
Sorry mate I don't follow your argument . Boxers practise punching drills, judo and jujitsu guys practice locks and throws the Army practice target shooting . Then when Boxers fight you see jabs , crosses , hooks etc. when judo and jujitsu fight you see tsubame-gaeshi , kasa-gatame etc. While the army snipers take out targets . All I said was I'd like to see this stuff work in sparring.
No offense meant. Perhaps I misinterpreted your comments to dovetail with 99% of similar-sounding comments that basically state "this won't work because you don't show it while sparring," etc. The CAPS at the end of your comment gave me the wrong impression, but re-reading your post puts it in the proper context.
I don't think you're going to see "knife sparring" on YouTube though with real knives. I think that Eric Knauss did a great job showing how Pekiti Tirsia concepts translate to stick sparring though, although I think the analogy to bladed weapons is weaker in the FMA's and better supported by Western fencing simply because there's more video available, i.e., fencing has drills and then you see it in the sparring...
I do Western Fencing , one advantage I think that we have over other bladed arts is the use of electronic equipmen. Then there is no argument as to which one would have been cut or stabbed i.e. which one would have been disabled or dead. Slightly changing the subject I've seen a good vid on you tube of two guy's semi sparring using FMA "espada y daga" (should have saved to favourites )
sanoj357: Basic? You have absolut no Idea! To get a timing like these guys you need years of training and talent. Try to be relaxt like them in a free sparring or fight: good luck!
Even you keep on changing the name of this martial art...Martial artist would still recognize that what your doing is still a filipino martial arts styles...And what this guys doing is just basic!!!!!Mabuhay
Two french guy. What they do is mostly Kali Sikaran. They are wonderfull. For years i am following their web site. They also have great artworks and more clips at website. These two guys are grace of the martial art world. not only because of the system and amazing technique also their attitude, mentality.
you have a real bad attitude I dont care for just one style I have studied 3 different ones I mention Systema because of the mulitiple attacks you idiot
Wtf??? Just because they are frenchmen they don't do filipino martials arts? That means I have to be russian to do systema? or israeli to do krav maga? Bullshit!
Jeff Espinous who is french, has created a style called Kali Sikaran, which is based on filipino fighting and Silat etc. These guys have also trained with him..so please don´t talk about things, you have no idea of :)
i seriously think this is the best video ive ever seen, i use it before every fight in school. altho i dont do what they do it motivates me to keep going and to fuck that guy up.
A technique with close combat and medium strong hits is an interesting idea. But how realistic can be a fight in close area against a knife? The fact that is a close battle should mean that it should end in a short period of time. But we see a long period battles with no sense.I cannot say it really impressed me
I see locking, trips, and sectoring from silat, wrenchs and breaks from a few FMA systems...sorta looks like the Inosanto blend, a few Judo throws, ground stuff from BJJ and/or shooto/csw, I also see some kicking that looks like it's from savate, knees and elbows straight out of thai boxing, and shredding and "crazy money" RBSD blocking stuff.
