It's known as 'flicking the V', and is roughly the female counter part to your american 'the bird'.

The "peace" symbol that you refer to is not a rude gesture within the UK, however flipping your hand around the other way and showing your knuckle side of your hand to the other person with your index finger and middle finger IS a rude gesture.

This gesture, in true British fashion has two meanings. One of rude decent which no one really knows where it came from, and the other from Winston Churchill, which incidentally stood for "Victory".

Just so you know Shaun, the dirty gesture you're refering to over here is the peace sign but with the back of your hand facing away from you.

It all dates back to the 13-14th century when the French caught English archers and cut off either the index or middle fingers so they couldn't fire anymore. When the English and French met in battle, the un-mutilated archers used to make that gesture to show the French that they still had both fingers and could still fire.

And inflation is a necessary thing in economics to keep them flowing... It can be difficult, especially in the US since almost all of your products are imported and so inflation has big impact on life for USA citizens... And if you look at inflation from the other side, namely deflation you would prefer inflation, because deflation only postpones investments and then whole economies stop spending and everything will do downwards.

Actually the check is worth 0 of anything. Zimbabwean dollar was discontinued, and zimbabwe does not have its own currency anymore. It got to a point where you could get 20-30 billion zimbabwe dollars for 1 dollar, but then they open for the use of foreign currency. So what you got was a worthless piece of paper with fancy letters on it ;D
