Also both Creon and Oedipus both brought a plague onto Thebes: Oedipus killed his father, who also became his brother in law, and Creon refused to bury Oedipus' eldest son, who's name escapes me, as punishment for attacking the city. So it could very well be about either of them.

In WWI Russia was still ruled by a Czar if I recall. There was much struggle among the people. Russia pulled out of the war early and shortly afterwards was the Bolshevik revolution led by Vladamir Lennon which resulted in the founding of the USSR. After that Russia was more unified. Whether it was nationalistic pride or fear or whatever they were united so they could put their numbers to better use.
They pulled out of WWI because of the revolution. If it had never happened, they would have continued to keep troops on the front line, POSSIBLY ending the war sooner. At first it was a true belief, but as time went on, and Stalin began becoming more and more paranoid, it turned into fear.

I agnowledged that God probably exists, & I respect most teachings of the prophets, I just dont see supreme truth in mainstream Christianity, Islam, Judaism, etc, & really any Cult for that matter

Doens't control me. If you are religious it should work side by side with who you are, not control you or force you to do things that you don't want to do. Granted, religion gives some basis, but for me, I walk hand in hand with my religion and I know right from wrong.

i think most believers are afraid of living and by that, they believe the fairytale called 'bible storys', where btw is nothing wrong with in my opinion. As cruel as life can be, believing in a 'higher power' who promises to bring peace love and whatever he may bring, can strengthen the human mind and will, making theyr lives more viable to live.
That is just my theory which i find quite logical,
